1 year ago I married my best friend. 2 weeks ago we had our wedding. It was literally perfect. That is all.

I was surprised with a highland cow by @apaulagize which I’ve always wanted to see one so that was probably the most epic surprise I’ve ever had!

Huge thanks to my friends that made this possible:

@timstagramcpt our officiant
@furyphotography our photography
@geeniuskeys our pianist
@officialliftersister our florist

Biggest shoutout to my brother and best man @ruderx and @brando8319 — without them I would not have survived let along had the best night ever. And to @jennessyvictoria and Fern for being the best maid of honor and team helping us with literally e everything.

And everyone else who came to support!

If you don’t understand (or agree) read it again until you do.

November’s diabetes awareness month and it has me thinking about insulin prices.

10-12 years ago insulin was in the low $100’s.
Now it’s well over $300 a vial or $500+ for pens.

Same medicine. Astronomical cost markup.

if we acquainted income to match insulin inflation price, that would mean the average American income should be $175,000 or more.

But I think we all know that is not the case.

In no way am I saying medicine should be free for everyone. I personally understand that things have costs in certain groups have more access and privilege than others.

What I am saying is that it should be criminal to have 200% markups on medicine that people need to survive.

What I am saying is that companies should not be allowed to leverage survival for profit margins without a ceiling or cap on things like medicine.

The geography you were born in or the family you were born to or the depth of your bank account should not determine whether you live or die because of diabetes.

My CGM lets me shower naked.

Seriously though, when I used a traditional CGM, I’d stress over adhesives barely holding on—peeling edges, waterlogged patches, and the desperation of keeping them intact.

Timing a sensor change just to enjoy one tech-free shower felt like a victory.

With Eversense 365, I can remove my transmitter* every time I shower and pop it back on when I’m done—plus I get a fresh, clean adhesive every day.

Diabetes is complicated enough. Knowing I can shower freely without worrying about adhesives brings a little peace—and a whole lot of comfort—back to my routine. 💧

*There is no glucose data generated when the transmitter is removed

One CGM that lasts a year—Eversense 365—means fewer supplies for him and no weekly sensor changes. Her side of the counter, though? A creative interpretation of ‘clean’. 😅

The Eversense® 365 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System is indicated for continually measuring glucose levels for up to one year in people (18 years and older) with diabetes. For complete intended use and safety info, see link in bio.

Had a great conversation with Chris Ruden about his experience using the Eversense 365 CGM System- the first and only long-term implantable CGM that lasts up to a year! We talked about the accuracy, the on-body vibration alerts (even when your phone isn’t around), and how the removable transmitter* makes it easy to take on and off whenever you need. We wrapped up talking about how lucky we are to live in a time with so many incredible options- it’s amazing to see how far diabetes tech has come and how much easier it keeps getting to live life on our own terms.

Vulnerable t1d share here 💉

Last year I severely burnout with diabetes and life.

Diabetes is hard
Life can be hard

And when both get difficult at the same time, you do what you can to survive the moments.

I’m so glad I’m back on track and refocused on what matters but damn was that a good kick in the ass.

It wasn’t the tech that hurt me.
It wasn’t intentional giving up either.
And is damn sure wasn’t a lack of knowledge.

I just made small bad choices.

Bad choices compound.
Good choices compound.

Make sure you’re compounding in the favorable direction

(It’s hard to share numbers like this on social for fear of judgement and all that but it’s the reality of the condition and the humanness behind it)

How do you balance educating others with protecting your own boundaries? @chrisruden is showing us how.

In the latest Access Granted episode, Chris shares a moment at an airport when a stranger touched the fingers on his prosthetic arm without consent. It’s a moment that left him conflicted—wanting to help people understand disability but also recognizing that it shouldn’t be his job to teach basic etiquette. Yet, Chris takes it as his responsibility to shift perspectives and advocate for a more inclusive world.

Born with a congenital birth defect and diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 19, Chris has turned his challenges into a mission for change. As a record-holding powerlifter, motivational speaker, and disability advocate, he inspires others to break barriers and rethink inclusion.

Check out the full episode to learn more about Chris’s perspective on setting boundaries, embracing challenges, and driving change.

The only CGM sensor that lasts a full year?!

Yeah, that’s my Eversense 365!

I’ve used short term CGM’s in the past and honestly, I think CGMs in general are a game changer for those able to get one. I hope access opens up for more people with diabetes to get them in the future.

But in my personal experience, going from a short term CGM to Eversense 365 had a great effect on how I manage my diabetes.

✅ Exceptional accuracy
✅ Low & high predictive alerts
✅ One sensor change per year
✅ A Gentle, silicone-based adhesive changed daily
✅ 7 Almost NO FALSE LOW ALERTS from sleeping on your CGMª

One trip to my Endo to get my sensor placed and I’m good for 365 days!

That’s diabetes management I can live easily with!

Talk to your healthcare provider to get more information about Eversense 365 if you’re interested!

As a person with diabetes, imagine only changing your CGM one time per year!

One sensor every 365 where I get to enjoy:

• reliable glucose numbers
• Discreet on-body vibe alerts (only CGM that can do this)
• Fresh new adhesive daily

All without regular sensor changes like I used to before getting on Eversense.

I never asked for this condition but I will ask for ways to manage it more effectively. Eversense CGM has been a part of that journey for me over the years and I’m proud to be one of their ambassadors from the beginning!

365 days. 1 sensor. And a full year to manage my diabetes my way!

Talk to your health care provider to see if Eversense might be right for you!

My wife & I took my mom on her dream vacation last week!

When I was 11, my mom was the arts & crafts mom.

She always came in to decorate the room and taught us pottery and painting and all that fun stuff.

We had a coveted competition: “international night”.

You pick a country.
You decorate the room.
You learn about that country.

Winner gets the trophy. And my mom went IN!

We picked Costa Rica and did our homework! She hung brown construction paper to make vines and decorated the entire room to look like a rainforest

We made a person-sized volcano out of paper mache
(We put a box fan in it with streamers too to “erupt”)

She put everything into this decor.

And we WON!

Ever since then she’s dreamed of going to Costa Rica

Last week I was able to make that dream come true.

She put off her desires to raise her kids the best way she could. Add cancer to the mix and it made it e en more difficult So Taking her to Costa Rica was incredible for me.

She was so happy!

And at 71, she still rappelled down waterfalls, zip lined and hiked to waterfalls!

We were at one of the waterfalls & said:

“We finally made it hunny”

It took me a few longer than expected.

And I wish I would’ve done it sooner

But I’m so fortunate we were able to do that for my mom.
