Believe it or not, we’re different people. 🤣

In all seriousness though, Lauren and I have the same birth defect (PFFD), but our limb shape and level of adaptation is still different from each other.

It’s so fun to workout together, because we can learn from each other, but we also still adapt certain movements differently because of the differences in our limbs.

Don’t y’all be commenting about the limp giving it away- that’s low-hangin’ fruit. 😅

Much smaller audience this time round, but it meant a lot to me.

5 years later, and the weight I kept failing at the 2021 CrossFit Games was my warm-up weight at my 2025 Games. ❤️

Don’t get me wrong, working hard and feeling strong in the gym DOES make me feel badass, which feeds my ego. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But I’ll take the functional life benefits I’ve gained from it any day.

Train for life in the gym- mentally and physically. ❤️

Brett was the real MVP of this video for helping me get the bar from the floor to my back. I did this away from the squat rack for demo purposes. 😅

🥈 place at the 2025 CrossFit Games.

I’d be blowing smoke if I told y’all I didn’t want to bring home first place this year - my competitive little soul loves being first. 🤣

BUT.

I had so many conversations, both with spectators and athletes this weekend, that showed me just how much each division is growing. That growth creates more competition, which is a GREAT thing.

5 years ago, I was the only above-knee athlete at the adaptive CrossFit Games. Having a division for my level of adaptation wasn’t even a thing. This weekend I completed solely with a group of women with above-knee differences, and each one of them are incredible humans.

@sololeglolo , you’ve challenged me more than any other athlete has in this space so far. You don’t settle for “good enough” - you push to excel and show truly what our division is capable of, and you’ve made me a better athlete because of it. Thank you for that. Even more so, you’re so kind and welcoming, I can’t even not like you even as my fiercest competitor. 🤣❤️

@fosterk8 , you also challenged me this weekend, and there were several times I thought “holy smokes this girl has improved so much since she came onto the competitive adaptive scene.” It’s incredibly impressive, especially while you’re in med school. You should be proud as hell of your performance this weekend.

Adaptive CrossFit has challenged me in so many ways, well beyond a tough workout. It even took my life in a direction I never in a million years anticipated, but that I’ve thoroughly loved and am grateful for.

I may not be on the competition floor after this year, but I love this community and I sure as heck won’t stop supporting it.

Thank yall for the love this weekend. It meant the world. ❤️

About 10 years ago my bro-in-law suggested I take off the flesh-colored, cosmetic cover off my prosthesis to show the hardware of it, and I laughed. I said I didn’t think I’d be able to do it because I was too self-conscious.

Crazy, WILD journey since then. To think the limits I had built up were really from my mind, rather than the leg.

Ya ain’t stuck, folks. 🤌

So many recaps and resolutions on social media this week. I’m here for it, I do it privately, but this year I didn’t feel the urge to recap on here in the same way.

Instead, I’ll leave you with these thoughts, as we all reflect, compare, and set goals for ourselves:

-The coolest experiences I’ve had came as a result of me saying yes when I was still shit-scared.

-You don’t know as much as you think you do.

-The darkest times in my life were also the ones that paved the way for a ton of joy and growth. That sounds nice on paper, but is incredibly difficult to experience in reality. If you find yourself in one of those “dark seasons” …don’t numb or shy away. Choose to learn.

-People and relationships will long outlast the things we often give the most time to. Invest accordingly.

Still learning, still struggling, still having fun. Let’s keep it going. 🤌

Every single person needs to prioritize their recovery routine (no matter how many legs they got), but given my circumstances and the amount of training hours I’ve put my body through since competing in CrossFit…intentional recovery is a non-negotiable.

How it helps: uses two different types of light
👉660 nanometer red light, works more at the surface and targets skin texture and tone
👉850 near-infrared, which goes deeper into muscle and joint areas

Wearing it is simple - attach the cord to an electric source, then wrap the belt around the area you’d like to treat.

✨Use the link in my bio to get 10% cash back on your purchase.✨

It’s also eligible for FSA/HSA use, and has a lifetime warranty (just register it online within 14 days of purchase to grab the warranty).
