Believe it or not, we’re different people. 🤣 In all seriousness though, Lauren and I have the same birth defect (PFFD), but our limb shape and level of adaptation is still different from each other. It’s so fun to workout together, because we can learn from each other, but we also still adapt certain movements differently because of the differences in our limbs.

Sometimes I think back and I still can’t comprehend it. I didn’t know I was being filmed, I didn’t even really register that people were cheering me on. I was in close to last place. I was exhausted, frustrated, and completely drained. It was my final event after one of the most exhilarating and challenging weeks of my life. All I registered during this 11 minute event was that I wasn’t allowed to quit on myself. 4 years later, and this same lesson has taken me further than I could have ever imagined. Don’t get me wrong, working hard and feeling strong in the gym DOES make me feel badass, which feeds my ego. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But I’ll take the functional life benefits I’ve gained from it any day. Train for life in the gym- mentally and physically. ❤️
