Neuro was founded by two college friends, Kent Yoshimura and Ryan Chen. After Ryan’s life-changing snowboarding accident, they set out to create the new generation of gum and mints—convenient, portable, and free from crashes or jitters. In an energy market that’s loud, they wanted to offer good energy you can actually feel and enjoy. What began as mixing supplement blends in a dorm room soon grew into redefining how people fueled their days. As we like to say, it’s not just a boost — it’s good clean energy. When Kent and Ryan were facing a trademark lawsuit, I knew they had merit and felt compelled to stand up for them. Early on with KIND, people tried to bully me out of the market too, and I had to grow my business backbone. I learned it’s important not to bully others, but it’s just as important not to let yourself get bullied. What started as a Hail Mary DM from Ryan turned into working together six years later and becoming the first company to not receive a deal in the Tank and return with an update. The gold “22” slides down the back, right between the Ukiyo-e style maple leaves and spinning clouds. There is white and blue and, of course, a leaping red bull, but it is the detail bisecting the images on the racing helmet that tells the story. @neurogum cofounders Ryan Chen and Kent Yoshimura had planned to hire a big-name artist to design Yuki Tsunoda’s 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix helmet for them; someone with a social media following to amplify the branding opportunity. “Can we get Mr. Beast to design it?” Yoshimura remembers them asking, through a grin. But none of the work they saw spoke to them, so eventually, Yoshimura — Neuro’s Co-Founder and CEO who also paints large-scale murals around the world — spent 36 straight hours designing it himself. The gold lines between each image — a reference to the Japanese artisan tradition of Kintsugi, where cracked porcelain is glued back together with a gold lacquer to accentuate and celebrate the fracture — unlocked the design for him. The message spoke to Yuki as well. “I learned through Kent what Kintsugi is — it was a new piece of my culture that I was not aware of,” Yuki Tsunoda explains. “When I saw the completed helmet, it looked amazing.
