We echo the 100+ humanitarian and civil society organizations’ call this week to allow for immediate and unrestricted aide into Gaza, and we’re calling on all infant formula companies — especially those who have international access — to do the same. We’re speaking out today but since late 2023, our Bobbie for Change team has been trying to get baby formula into the region. We’ve tried to work with 16 different international NGOs (non-governmental organizations) to no avail. 16 trusted, vetted organizations unable to help us get this necessary food to families because of the blockade. More recently, we have tried to work with grassroots, medical initiatives who are working to get product into Gaza. We continue to face challenges with: -Regulatory and customs constraints (even in times of crisis, it is difficult to donate a U.S. regulated product internationally) -Accessibility to clean water to prepare powdered infant formula -Inability to cross the blockade -The WHO Code (one organization denied our donation in an effort to “protect breastfeeding”) Ensuring all babies are fed is Bobbie’s core mission.
