🔥 Showing up… even in the toughest season of my life.

Between supporting Mum through the fight of her life and rehabbing my ankle, I haven’t felt strong lately - physically or emotionally. But I’m still here, moving when I can, trying my best, and ALWAYS “enough”.

Today’s session was all about rebuilding - not just my body, but my mindset too.
And choosing to take care of myself, to love my body, even through the chaos.

Today’s workout:
• Ankle rehab
• Elevated DB sumo squats - 4 x 15
• Elevated DB deadlifts - 4 x 15
• Walking lunges - 4 x 20
• Shoulder Flys - 4 x 12–15
• Bicep Curls - 4 x 12–15

This isn’t about hitting PBs or chasing a certain look. It’s about honouring where I’m at, treating myself with kindness, and doing what I can - when I can - without putting pressure on myself to be perfect or do it ALL… well, at least trying not to (it’s a work in progress ok! 😜)

Even on the hardest days, movement is medicine.

Filming for my FIT app is coming up, and while I might not be at my peak, I’m proud to be showing up - for my body, my mind, my FIT fam, and myself. 🙏🏼💗

💪🏼 Flexing the muscles I’ve worked so hard for over the years… even though right now, it feels like I’m losing so much of it. 🙈
Between rolling my ankle & supporting a loved one through chemo, I haven’t been able to train the way I used to. And while it’s frustrating, I’m learning not to compare myself to the past version of me.

Here I’m rehabilitating my ankle & doing some light (but fun) strength training - with my little sidekick cheering me on. 😍
I’ve got a few weeks to be ready to film my new challenge that’s coming to my FIT app!

Life throws things at you that you never planned for - & when it does, you adapt.
You show up as you are. Even if it’s not your best day or your strongest workout. You try your best - & that’s more than enough.

I’ve had to remind myself not to put pressure on being who I was before this all happened - but to honour where I’m at now.
That takes boundaries… with other people, & with myself.

This is my way of still showing up. It looks a little different to what I’m used to - & that’s ok.
Being able to adapt to change is one of the most important things in life, I believe.
This is me doing the best I can with what life has thrown at me - & doing my best to take care of me, so I can be there for the people who need me. 🤍

Moving our bodies together 💪🏼👧🏼👦🏼 

I did this workout with my kids, & we had the best time!

It’s scientifically proven that movement helps kids improve focus, build confidence, reduce stress, & strengthen growing bones & muscles. Even resistance-style training (like bodyweight moves & light weights) is safe for kids as young as 5 - when it’s done properly & supervised.

More than anything, it’s about having fun, building healthy habits early, & spending quality time together. ❤️

This full-body session is from my Emily Skye FIT app, & here’s exactly what we did:

🔥 WARM-UP (30 secs each):
• Raised Mountain Climbers
• Shallow Squats
• Alternating Forward Lunges
• Leg Swings (Left & Right)
• Glute Bridges

💥 ROUND 1 (3 sets - 40 secs each, 15 secs rest):
• Dumbbell Staggered Stance Deadlifts (Left & Right)
• Squat + Squat Hold

🏋🏼‍♀️ ROUND 2 (3 sets - 45 secs each, 15 secs rest):
• Dumbbell Squat + Calf Raise
• Fire Hydrants (Left & Right)

🔥 ROUND 3 (3 sets - 30 secs each, 10 secs rest):
• Dumbbell Skier Swings
• Overhead Alternating Dumbbell Lunges
• Glute Bridge Hold

💪🏼 ROUND 4 (3 sets - 30 secs each, 10 secs rest):
• Leg Lowers
• Plank Step-outs

🧘🏼‍♀️ COOL-DOWN (30 secs each):
• Lunge Stretch
• Quad, Hamstring & Groin Stretches

➡️ I’ve been trying to come up with a way to mimic what the standing or seated hip abduction machines at the gym do - so I can train my glute medius & minimus (outer/upper glutes) at home….And this last exercise is a WINNER! It’s probably been done before, but let me pretend I invented it, ok? 😅

🏋🏼‍♀️ WORKOUT:
🔹 Bulgarian split squat - 4 x 12 each leg - See how I work out where to put my foot?
🔹 Elevated sumo DB squat - 4 x 12-15
🔹 Elevated sumo DB deadlift - 4 x 15
🔹 Hip thrust - 4 x 15
🔹 Standing cable hip abduction - 4 x 20 each side
    🔺 HOW TO: The working glute is actually on the stable leg. Start with that glute in a stretched position, then lift the other leg out to the side (abduction). The goal is to stretch and contract the glute under load - and wow, this one burns (in a good way)!
I’m honestly loving this more than the hip abduction machine at the gym - it feels more functional, gives a better range of motion, and really hits that upper/outer glute.
