Most brands dismiss the uncomfortable parts of real life. This student DoorDash campaign does the opposite.

Anna Kallajian (AD) and Cara Anne Anderson (CW) leaned into those moments where food stops being indulgence and becomes immediate relief.

Built with DIY art direction, unfiltered writing, and real process – every food shot was styled by hand, and when the work called for it, DoorDash as was used exactly as intended.

“DoorDash Period” was created at Denver Ad School under Samantha Geloso.

This student campaign came from questioning how Shazam actually works.

As self-proclaimed music nerds who use Shazam frequently, Carlos Mario Rodriguez and Regina Gutierrez imagined the music identification process as a cast of characters working behind the scenes – each one representing a different genre, taste, and instinct coming together to find the song.

The film was created as a thesis project at Art Center College of Design and shot on the school’s soundstage in just three days, with friends and professors stepping in as actors.

Carlos and Regina both are excited to begin their professional careers in 2026, and are actively looking at agencies.

Most brands wait until something is safe before they stand behind it. Absolut didn’t wait. They found an audience nobody else respected, backed artists who meant something to that community, and let the work do the talking.

There weren’t press releases, nor campaigns about the campaign (which happens a lot nowadays). Just conviction, repeated consistently over two decades. In a month full of rainbow logos, that’s worth remembering. Not many brands can say the same.

Manuel Fernandez won a D&AD pencil, but still couldn’t find a job. So, he broke the pencil (one of the most coveted awards in advertising), reconstructed it with lead, and made a self-promo campaign.

Manuel (@manu.fernandez.garcia) did the original award-winning work at Brother Ad School (@wearedoersbro, @brothermadrid) under mentor Rubén Caja Menéndez (@rubenbox04).

Really incredible initiative through this guerilla-esque self-promo campaign. A reminder to make the most of every situation you’re out in, and to not let your “losses” get the best of you. Love the resilience shown through this project. And also some clever copywriting to go with it;)

Hey! If you have student / spec work you want highlighted, please DM or email @rosswhyross at ross@breakenterpod.com.

World Down Syndrome Day is observed every year on March 21. The date isn’t random. 3/21. Three copies of the 21st chromosome.

Over the last three years, the campaigns coming out of this space have been some of the best work in advertisin. CoorDown and SMALL have won over 30 Cannes Lions and five Grand Prix for Good. “Assume That I Can” hit 150 million views in a week.

From challenging assumptions to retiring harmful language, here are four campaigns that moved the conversation forward.

Da’Shon Bright, Nicole Sustaita-Felici, and Gabriella Spear made a Letterboxd campaign at SMU Temerlin Advertising Institute where every execution stacks three movies that share a single word, and that shared word sits exactly where Letterboxd’s three overlapping circles would be.

I actually had the opportunity to see this campaign in-person in Dallas in November back when it was pencil sketches and half-complete mockups and uncertain headlines pinned to a glass board, on a visit to critique Mark Allen’s class. Watching it go from work on a wall to a finished system this sharp is its own kind of reward – and a reminder that the best work usually starts as a small, weird idea someone got obsessed with.

The whole point of Student Sunday is making sure work this good doesn’t go unseen, so please send this around to all the cinephiles, copywriters, and ad nerds in your life. And DM or email @rosswhyross at ross@breakenterpod.com if you’d like your student / spec work featured.
