He’s not from ICE, he’s from N.I.C.E. 🇨🇦

A clip from This Hour Has 22 Minutes is going viral after comedian Trent McClellan hit the streets of Halifax dressed as a “N.I.C.E. Agent”, short for National Immigration and Citizenship Enforcement, asking tourists hilariously polite questions and being, well, Canadian.

The bit has sparked thousands of wholesome comments, with Americans calling Canada a “refreshing dose of humor and kindness.”

Sometimes the internet (and real life) needs less chaos, and a few more N.I.C.E. agents. ❤️🇨🇦

Tucked along San Francisco’s Sunset Dunes, sits a phone that isn’t technically connected to anyone. But that’s kind of the point.

Ocean Calling invites visitors to pick up a disconnected telephone overlooking the Pacific Ocean and speak to someone they’ve lost.

Created by San Francisco artists Jamae Tasker and Sarah McCarthy Grimm, the installation was inspired by Japan’s “Phone of the Wind” and offers a quiet place for remembrance, reflection and healing.

You’ll find it where Ortega Street meets Ocean Beach. It’s free to visit and open 24/7.

By the way, we have a weekly newsletter rounding up what’s worth doing and knowing about in San Francisco. One newsletter. Once a week. Link in bio.

The White Lotus is going to France. 🇫🇷

According to Variety, Season 4 will film across Paris and the French Riviera next year, ending HBO’s long-running partnership with the Four Seasons hotels.

New luxury settings like Le Lutetia and The Ritz Paris are reportedly in play, along with potential shoots in Monaco and Nice.

Creator Mike White teased “fewer crashing waves, more murders,” so expect a French blend of luxury, dysfunction, and chaos.

Who do you want to see check in this season?

One of the most beautiful climate solutions in Europe started with a crochet class.

Back in 2018, crochet teacher Eva Pacheco and a group of local senior women in Alhaurín de la Torre, Spain began hand-making massive crocheted canopies to help shade the town during brutal summer heat waves.

Instead of relying on plastic coverings that trapped heat, the group created colorful woven awnings using sun-resistant synthetic yarn, eventually transforming entire streets into giant pieces of public art.

The handmade canopies now reportedly keep shaded areas up to 5°C cooler while also turning the town into a tourist attraction filled with color, texture, and community-driven design.

The canopies have expanded in popularity across other Spanish towns in recent years.

Now THIS is art.

Five metres beneath the waves of Tokunoshima, British artist Jason deCaires Taylor has unveiled Ocean Gaia, a 45-ton underwater sculpture modeled after Japanese supermodel Rola.

The piece marks Japan’s first-ever underwater artwork and celebrates the ocean as a maternal force, a source of creation, healing, and renewal.

Its surface was built from pH-neutral cement to encourage coral growth, turning the sculpture into a living ecosystem. Installed near an island known for its longevity and high birthrate, Ocean Gaia feels both personal and universal, a reminder that everything begins in water. 💙

Boston did it again.

WalletHub analyzed 399 cities, scored them across five major sports (football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey), and crunched everything from fan engagement to team performance to stadium access. The result? Boston edges out LA for the title of top sports city in America.

Fenway. TD Garden. Gillette. A championship-stacked history. A fan base that treats sports like a second language. It all added up.

LA, Pittsburgh, NYC, and Dallas round out the top five, so let the arguing begin.

Which city should be number one?

Have you ever wanted to own an entire village?

Tut Hill in Pittston, Maine spans 42.5 acres and includes 21 buildings, from a Greek Revival home to an 1825 church, plus barns, garages, apartments, and apple trees lining the property. The asking price is $5.5 million.

It’s been pitched as a wedding venue, corporate retreat campus, or private estate. There are multi-bay garages for collectors, restored historic spaces for events, and enough land to feel like your own world.

For context, $5.5M in some cities gets you a luxury condo. Here, it gets you a village.

So… are we all chipping in?

For 100 years, the public couldn’t step foot here.

Now, one of California’s most untouched coastlines is finally open.

The Estero Americano Coast Preserve, a 547-acre stretch where Marin and Sonoma meet, has officially opened for free public access after being privately managed for a century. Think tidal marshes, wild coastline, spring wildflowers, and panoramic views straight to Point Reyes.

The trail welcomed visitors for the first time late last year, and now it’s fully open to hiking access.

No tickets. No reservations. Just walk in via the Shorttail Gulch Coastal Access Trail near Bodega Bay and explore one of the rarest things left in California: land that stayed wild.

Save this for a Northern California road trip 🌊

Your chaotic camera roll might finally come in handy.

Icelandair is offering a 10-day all-expenses-paid trip to Iceland + $50,000 (€43K)… but only if you’re actually bad at taking photos.

No experience allowed. No photography background either.

They want someone who takes blurry shots, cuts people’s heads off, or somehow always has their finger in the frame, basically anyone whose camera roll is chaos (parents… we’re looking at you).

The goal is to prove Iceland is so beautiful that even the worst photographer can’t mess it up.

Flights, hotels, spending money, and adventures are all covered, you just have to document the trip.

To apply, you’ll need to answer a few questions and submit a short video explaining why you’re the perfect “worst photographer.”

Applications are open until April 30.

Ever wanted to disappear for the summer?

Great Blasket Island, a remote island off the coast of County Kerry, is hiring two caretakers to live on the island and run its coffee shop and guest cottages from April to October.

The role includes:

 • Managing a small coffee shop
 • Looking after three holiday cottages
 • Hosting overnight guests
 • Basic cleaning, painting, and maintenance

There are no permanent residents, limited supplies, and weather that decides your days off. In return, caretakers get paid, plus food and accommodation on one of Ireland’s most beautiful and wildlife-filled islands.

It’s demanding, intense, and very much not a holiday, but for the right duo, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime summer.

Hell officially hit the market this week.

Hell, Michigan, one of America’s strangest roadside attractions, is now for sale for $625,000, and yes, the listing includes way more than just the name.

The property spans more than seven acres and comes with a souvenir shop, mini golf course, wedding chapel, ice cream stand called the Creamatory, and multiple buildings that helped turn the tiny town into a bucket-list stop.

Owner John Colone spent decades building the attraction after originally acquiring part of the property through a car trade. Now, at 80 years old, he says he’s ready for some “John Time.”

Hell remains open for visitors in the meantime.

Not to influence anyone’s financial decisions, but owning Hell for $625,000 seems like a steal.

Add this one to the 2027 travel list. The Whale is set to open in Andenes, Norway, bringing a new museum dedicated to whales and the ocean to one of the country’s most dramatic coastal landscapes. Designed by Danish architecture studio Dorte Mandrup, the building will feature a sweeping curved roof that visitors can walk onto for views across the Norwegian Sea. Inside, exhibitions will combine science, art and immersive storytelling to explore whale biology, behaviour, evolution and the relationship between humans and the ocean. The Whale is currently expected to open in June 2027. Media via @thewhaleandoy, @dorte_mandrup, @mir.no #bantrtravel #whalemuseum #worldmuseums
