Have you heard that @glampmichigan now has Michigan’s first two mirror houses?! This is the perfect place for a week escape in northern Michigan. Tucked away in the woods, surrounded by snow falling all around you, this place just feels magical 🥹 Perfect for couples or a solo retreat if you just need some time to recharge like me!

Their amenities are top tier:
-private sauna
-private hot tub
-cold plunge
-heated floors (I was actually blown away by this because I’ve never experienced it but WOW 🤩)
-kitchenette
-waterfall shower
-black stone grill
-fire pit and hammock set up

And it’s the prime location for exploring so many places nearby:
-Skiing at Crystal Mountain
-Frankfort (cute Michigan beach town + Point Betsie Lighthouse)
-Benzonia (food and coffee)
-Arcadia lookout
-Beulah (great breweries)
-Ironfish distillery
-Sleeping Bear Dunes
-Crystal Lake
-Lake Michigan

All the Great Lakes in ONE day vlog!! Here’s how we did it ⬇️ [check out the full vlog on You Tube!!]

Time it took: we started at 6am and swam in our last lake at 11pm!

The route:
Lake Huron->Lake Erie->Lake Ontario->Lake Superior->Lake Michigan

1. We started in Sarnia, Ontario (drove here after work Friday night)
2. Swam in Lake Huron at Canatara Beach at 6am
3. 1.5 hour drive to Lake Erie
4. Swam in Lake Erie at Port Stanley at 8am
5. 2.5 hour drive to Lake Ontario
6. Swam in Lake Ontario at Jack Darling Park in Mississauga, ON at 11:40am
7. 8.5 hour drive to Lake Superior, making a pit stop in Greater Sudbury
8. Swam in Lake Superior in Brimley at the Point Iroquois Lighthouse at 9:30pm
9. 1 hr 15 min drive to Lake Michigan
10. Swam in Lake Michigan off US 2 in Moran at 11pm

We stayed at a cute lil airbnb in St Ignace after our last plunge! With a stop at Taco Bell to end the night 🤩

The next day we went back to see what our Lake Michigan spot looked like during the day and took a trip up to Tahquamenon Falls because it was some of the gals first time in the UP!

A must visit beach town in Michigan!!

If you love our beach towns and haven’t been to @saugatuckdouglas yet, you’re missing out! Not to mention it’s only 45 minutes from Grand Rapids. The perfect place for a little weekend getaway.

I’m still not over the fall colors I saw here this year. I’m just now getting around to posting, but it was insane!! What I love about southwest Michigan is that you get fall colors for the first couple weeks of November (typically) so you can plan your trips all around the state and end here and still see peak color.

If I had to rate one beach town for the best restaurants and shopping, Saugatuck would take the cake for that one. The food here is unreal and the stores are honestly the best. Ugh it’s just so cute I love it.

Have you been to Saugatuck yet??

The best Christmas light drive through - and I mean it 🤭 It’s actually so good and unique!! They have multiple different themes and a lot of them have to do with animals as @deertracksjunction is one of those drive through zoos where you feed the animals from your car. The animals are not out during the winter, but I can’t wait to go back and see them in the spring 🤩

📍Deer Tracks Junction
Cedar Springs, MI
(About 25 mins from Grand Rapids)

Cost: $40 per car
Runs through Jan 5th

Name a more iconic road trip than going to all the Great Lakes in ONE day 👀 AD | @belletire has your back when it comes to road trips in Michigan 🚗💨

As a Michigan brand, with hundreds of locations across the state, Belle Tire is the go-to place for tires. I’ve had one too many nails in my tire that have been patched for free, because I get my tires at Belle which is honestly a game changer! But they’re more than just tires - they do auto repair, oil changes and free alignments, brake checks, battery replacement, and more.

💥Get $50 off a set of four tires, only available at www.belletire.com, now through June 21, 2026 with code: 272071

‼️The best way to spend one week at Pictured Rocks‼️

1. Tahquamenon Falls
2. Sable Falls
3. Hike the Chapel Loop Trail (plan a whole day for this so you can enjoy all the lookouts, beaches, waterfalls)
4. Miner’s Castle
5. Miner’s Falls
6. Munising Falls
7. See Pictured Rocks from the water - do a kayaking tour or the cruise
8. See the Grand Island - do a shipwreck tour or RipTide ride to see it up close and personal
9. Find a beach to watch the sunset at and then stay to watch the night sky. You might even see the northern lights!

⚠️You best be using the leave no trace principles!! Don’t go out into nature if you’re not going to respect it 😤

When heading up from the lower peninsula of Michigan, I like to start on the east end and work in Tahquamenon Falls (you can do it the opposite way if you’re coming from western states!)

Send this to a friend you want to go to Pictured Rocks with!

When people ask me what my favorite hike in Michigan is 👀 This one is hard to beat!

Random thoughts about these photos - As a photographer you always want to take photos a couple hours before sunset or after sunrise to get the best lighting. Sometimes I look at these and I’m like ehhh they could be better. But the thing about hiking and photography is that sometimes you just don’t get to be places when the lighting is ideal! And that’s one thing about me - lighting is not going to stop me from taking photos even if it’s direct sunlight. So here’s some photos taken in the heat of the day, at one of my favorite places in Michigan 🫶🏼

📍Chapel Loop Trail, Pictured Rocks

⚠️ PLEASE be sure to follow the leave no trace principles and to take caution on this hike. There are direct cliff drop offs hundreds of feet above Lake Superior and Pictured Rock’s sandstone cliffs collapse every year as you can see in my photos. Along this trail, I definitely saw people leaving toilet paper and hygiene products just out and about in the forests and we have to be better. Pack it out with you and dig holes for the bathroom. And please be prepared with plenty of water, food, proper hiking shoes, etc.

‼️PSA: There‘s a chance you might see the northern lights tonight 👀

There’s a geomagnetic storm alert in effect with a high Kp Index forecast which means lots of energy from the sun is coming our way (which is what creates the northern lights!) The higher the Kp the higher the chance of seeing the lights.

The next thing you want to look out for when the Kp index is high is how the weather is looking in your area aka how cloudy the sky will be. Lots of clouds 🟰less chance of seeing the northern lights. Unfortunately we are seeing a lot of haziness in our skies in Michigan because of the wildfire smoke from Canada. Butttt there might be a chance it clears??

The other thing you want to do is get yourself to a place with a clear view north and as little light pollution as possible and look that direction. Lucky for us in Michigan, we have lots of areas with little light pollution. Some of the best places to look north and have less light pollution are along the lakeshores.

Sometimes you won’t see the northern lights with your naked eye - but you can see them through long exposure photography! So if you’re ever in doubt, hold up your phone’s camera and see if you can see them through your screen. And if you’re not familiar with taking long exposure shots on your iPhone - Google how to do it! It’s super simple, just click the long exposure button and then hold your phone super still - better yet use a tripod or set it up against something that’s not moving.

And if you’re looking into getting into astrophotography and taking photos like the ones I posted, you can learn so much online but I am happy to help and maybe I should start posting how I do it?!

Life is too short to not take risks 😌 5 years later and somehow it’s still working out and I’ve never looked back. I had so many voices around me telling me how hard it would be to figure out self employed insurance or not have an employer 401k match or a steady paycheck that comes every 2 weeks or how it would be hard for me to get another job if I had a gap of employment, but I’m here to tell you that if you have a dream and are ready to work for it, you can make it happen.

Looking back now, what I’ve learned is that a lot of people live their life scared of the what ifs. Scared of failing. Scared of what others think. And they would rather live a safe life than take a risk to build a life they could never have imagined. Now, I also believe God had a big factor in making my life the way it is today, but He’s not a magical genie that gives you everything you ask for. You have to put in work. And all these other people telling you to be scared and not take risks - well they aren’t YOU. You know deep down what you were made to do and don’t let anyone stop you. I never in a million years could have imagined all the opportunities I’d be given in my career for posting “silly little videos”.

And guess what? I figured out self employed insurance (even if it does suck lol), I invest in my own retirement funds plus more, I know how to budget and live life without having a steady paycheck every two week, and I even make more money than I would at a 9-5. And someday, I’ll have more flexibility as a mom which is something I didn’t even think about right when I quit. I honestly look back and can’t believe that these were the major things stopping me from taking the leap and leaving my corporate job to start my own business. It seems so silly looking back 🤭 The freedom is worth it, keep putting yourself out there and working hard!

And let me know if I should share more about this journey, because I never really have and I’d love to help people if they are in a similar place I was 💛
