History has been made at the #G1MUltra.
A battle took place over the last three days on Bare Ranch. 120 runners entered the course on Saturday, and only two remained standing on Monday at 8PM.
Shortly after the start of the 57th lap, a severe thunderstorm struck, flooding the course and bringing extreme winds - putting everyone in immediate danger.
After getting the team, staff, and runners to safety, @kendallpfx & @kim.gottwald agreed to end the race and split the title of the G.1.M Ultra.
56 laps. 235.2 miles
The new course record - for now.

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” - Acts 2:38
Today, Stef and I were baptized, committing our lives to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

This 18-week Ironman prep and race were different…
It was truly a transformational chapter of my life.
I fully surrendered my life to Christ shortly after starting my training build. My purpose evolved, our family strengthened, my identity was re-centered and I experienced joy, peace and rest for the first time since I can remember.
I’m proud of this prep. I’m proud of the effort and outcome.
More importantly, I’m grateful for the work God is doing in my life. Thank you, Lord.

THE PROCESS IS THE PRIZE.
These last couple of years, I’ve trained for and completed several races, including marathons, ultras, HYROX, and triathlons.
But I’m not a race addict.
Each goal I’ve marked on the calendar has a clear purpose and intention. It’s an opportunity to learn for myself and coach others through the process.
I love the process. I love watching others learn from my mistakes and early learnings to improve their performance and achieve their goals.
It’s never been about accumulating medals or bibs. I throw them all away. It’s about setting a goal, enduring a process, committing to what is required to get there, and testing my preparation.
Goals should be accompanied by a why. A reason. A purpose. An intention.
What new perspective, skill, or growth will you unlock by setting intentional goals and committing to chasing them down?

We are 8 hours into the race. 76 runners left.
It reached a high of 98 degrees in central Texas today, which was beating down on the course.

It’s hard to put into words how much being a committed, loving and present husband/father means to me.
I’ve had many amazing opportunities and experiences in life so far, but none compare to the ones spent with my family.
With Ironman Arizona approaching in 5 days, I’ll be searching for them across the finish line.

In 2009 I started college at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, studying nutrition and enrolled in the Army ROTC program.
Little did I know, three years later I would launch @bpnsupps out of my apartment with a $20k loan before commissioning as an Infantry Officer and serving four years active duty.
Commitment, discipline and consistency has been foundational to the success and process I’ve experienced over the last 13 years.
I came across this photo and can’t help but appreciate it for everything that it is. I’m walking side-by-side with my best friend, Luke, unknowing for what the future was about to present.
I was young, but driven, hungry and passionate.

For the next 8 weeks I’m trading in my running shoes and will be cycling as my form of aerobic conditioning ⚡️
I’ve been dealing with foot pain since I got hit by a car, while running, in December. As running volume increased through my marathon prep, the foot pain got worse and worse until I could barely walk on it.
An MRI yesterday showed that there are multiple bone contusions throughout that foot, ligament sprains and swelling that is causing issues in the back of my foot/lower leg.
With that said, I won’t be going for the 2:30 marathon in June. I’m going to allow my foot to fully heal so that when I jump back into a prep I can execute as intended.
I’ve been running consistently since 2019. This will be my longest time away from it since then. But instead of training through injuries like I normally would have in the past, I’m going to allow my body to heal and recover so I can come back stronger.
Running is an activity and a sport that I love, but it’s not my identity. While unfortunate, it’s all good. This gives me a few weeks to redirect some of that energy and passion into another area of my life (family, business, the ranch, etc).
