A little monday morning matcha date with my current read in an attempt to soothe my end of summer blues 📖🍵🍓 I started Call Me by Your Name over the weekend and am 99% sure that a summer spent on the coast of Italy surrounded by books, the sea, & numerous afternoon coffees would heal something in me 🥲 This book feels like both a fever dream and the most intimate parts of someone’s personal diary. It’s also solidified the fact that I just love coming of age stories & the way they allow us to revisit our own adolescence, if only for a few hundred pages. So far very much enjoying 💕 I also finished Spectacular Things over the weekend & started Meet me in the Garden by Nina Lacour. I love books that pull you into the lives of tightly knit (if not slightly dysfunctional) families, and both of these do that. Spectacular Things almost gave me Gilmore Girls with the northeast setting & the quirkiness of the Lowe girls. A little monday morning matcha date with my current read in an attempt to soothe my end of summer blues 📖🍵🍓 I started Call Me by Your Name over the weekend and am 99% sure that a summer spent on the coast of Italy surrounded by books, the sea, & numerous afternoon coffees would heal something in me 🥲 This book feels like both a fever dream and the most intimate parts of someone’s personal diary. Believe it or not, crying so hard I can’t see the pages is actually my favorite way to read 🥲 (pls tell my I’m not the only one 🥹) Finally finished The Good Parts by Evann Normandin yesterday, so if anyone needs me I’ll be laying on my bed staring at the ceiling for the foreseeable future ❤️‍🩹 I genuinely can’t believe this was a debut novel; it was so intentional, well written, well executed, & will linger in my bones for years to come 🥲 everything I could want from a book. #fivestarbooks #bookrec #fivestarreads #sadbooks #emotionalbooks

2 months later and I still can’t stop thinking about this book 🥲💙 Into the Blue by Emma Brodie is a masterclass in tension, yearning, and moments so subtle that they’re almost nothing, yet leave you with a stomach full of butterflies 🤭🦋 This was more than a romance, it was a true love story 🥲 I’ve gotten really picky about this genre over the last years (simply bc I read so much of it growing up), but this blew all expectations out of the water. Current mood — fighting back tears while trying to read this beautiful, tender, heartbreaking book in a crowded cafe 😢🍵🍓📖 I’ve been forcing myself to slow down & microdose bits & pieces of The Good Parts throughout the day because I never want Rose & Landon’s story to end & I’m genuinely terrified for how this is going to wrap up ❤️‍🩹 I also have to say, that as someone who doesn’t usually prefer dual POV, I love the way it’s utilized in this book with Rose being our POV in the past & Landon being the POV in the present AND, dare I say, I actually feel more emotionally attached to Landon (even though I love rose too). I love nostalgia, and books like these drop with it. A matcha a day keeps the book slump away 📖🍵🍓 (or something like that 🤭) Lucky for me bc there’s no book slump in sight over here as I savor every single sentence that Sarah Damoff has weaved together to create the story that is The Burning Side 🥲 I love author’s who don’t waste a word or sentence in their books, and she is one of them. This story physically hurts in the way that it writes straight to the heart of what it means to be an imperfect human trying desperately to pretend at perfection in a society that hasn’t always been transparent about the struggles of aging, marriage, relationships, & parenthood. Sunburn by Chloe Michelle Howarth left me speechless. 5 stars doesn’t do this book justice, I have to give it 6 🥲 After days of trying to find the words to capture just how perfect this book is, I finally realized it’s just not possible, but I still want to talk about it and help it find its way into more hands, so this is me doing my best to articulate my love for it 🥲 This is a brilliant, tender (sometimes painful), sapphic coming of age story that captures the highs & lows of girlhood & first love in a way that will leave you completely changed you by the time you finish it. 10/10 recommend for your tbr 🥹 #bookrec #bookrecommendation #litfic #fivestarbook #summertbr

Had ourselves the coziest little bookish getaway to a lakeside cabin in Maine to say goodbye to summer 📖🫖🍂 I felt like I got a brief glimpse into a future I hope to one day have. Sometimes I can get so caught up in everyone else’s lives online that I forget what I truly want for my own. I love seeing everyone hustling & bustling about, living out their dreams in big and small ways, but I think my heart will forever seek out something a little bit slower & a little bit quieter. If i’m honest, I’m trying to figure out what that looks like in this space. Sometimes I can get so caught up in everyone else’s lives online that I forget what I truly want for my own. I love seeing everyone hustling & bustling about, living out their dreams in big and small ways, but I think my heart will forever seek out something a little bit slower & a little bit quieter. If i’m honest, I’m trying to figure out what that looks like in this space. How to continue sharing my love for books, but also let go of this internal pressure to rush to do so (or to have it look a certain way). How to stay grounded in myself while inundated with beautiful & inspiring content from everyone else. Which feels vulnerable to say, but nevertheless is true.
