I DID IT!!💙💛 official time: 3:33:33 ANGEL NUMBERS!!!🪽 & my FIRST Boston Marathon!!!

Not gonna lie, that was a really difficult marathon for me. The hills were super tough, my stomach hurt, and I really had to push on this race. 

💙Here’s some thoughts/notes about today:
1. Boston is BEAUTIFUL. & the energy in this city and throughout the entire race was something so special. 

2. The first half of this race I was cruisin and then all the hills hit around mile 17 I believe, and after that, the rest of the race was hard for me. 

3. I didn’t love that the race started later in the day because my stomach doesn’t do well when I’ve eaten a meal that day- which I had to do, given the late start. My stomach felt questionable for a lot of the marathon. 

4. I have the best friends & family in the world. They gave me so much support and I really couldn’t have gotten through it without them. Special shoutout to @chasenels who is the most supportive boyf EVER throughout this entire weekend & @amandaathornton who texted me constantly literally the entire marathon, hyping me up & giving me updates on where I was in the course. 

5. This race showed me that I can do hard things that I set my mind to. I wanted to stop SO many times but didn’t, and I’m so proud of myself for that. 

Even though this race made me question if I want to keep running marathons, I know I’ll probably run a bunch more🫶🏽 p.s last photo is me crying from happiness, pain, and relief that it was over😅

Boston Marathon Training Series: 18 miles down!!! Overall notes: very high energy, low HR, no cramping, runner’s high - would rate this long run a 9.5/10 only because my headphones died on the last 0.5 mile😅

As a long distance runner, I need a TON of energy. So before this run, I took @bodi preworkout which was exactly what I needed & is super clean - a non-negotiable for me. I always read the label on products like this to make sure it doesn’t have artificial dyes, fake flavoring, or mystery ingredients.

Another reason I like Bodi preworkout is because it has Beta-Alanine, Quercetin, and justtttt the right amount of caffeine so that I have a steady boost of energy but then I don’t get a crash after an hour.

dear running,

i don’t know when you stopped being just a way to work out and started becoming something bigger in my life, but somewhere along the way you changed how i see myself.

you gave me so much confidence in myself, built slowly by showing up for myself and keeping small promises over time. that confidence didn’t stay contained to running. it bled into other parts of my life, into how i make decisions, trust my gut, and follow through even when things feel uncertain. learning that i could do hard things when no one was watching made me able to take risks, show up even on days i didn’t want to, and choose paths that felt right for me instead of just safe.

you changed my relationship with my body by teaching me to trust it, and you changed my relationship with food by turning it into something supportive instead of something to control. you reminded me that my body is something to work with, not against. it’s also such an incredible feeling to be strong and fast, especially as a woman.

some runs feel strong and easy, and others sucked, but you taught me that both still count and still matter. you showed me that rest isn’t failure, that discomfort isn’t always a problem, and that i don’t need to “be better every day” in order to make progress.

you changed the way i treat myself and pushed me to shoot high.

you make me feel free and like a bird and one with nature and the sky and clouds and sun and it’s all so perfect.

you also introduced me to some of the most incredible people. friendships, conversations, and connections i never would have found otherwise. people who are determined, show up, encourage loudly, and remind me that this sport is about so much more than just running.

i’m deeply grateful for the platform and community that came from this, and for the chance to share this sport with people who see themselves in it too.
