I *finally* survived postpartum and then my 38-year old hormones said, “Round 2, mama!” (#ad) 🫠

Between parenting, work, and life, I assumed the exhaustion, cycle changes, mood swings, and sleep struggles were just the price of being a busy burnt-out millennial mom. It never crossed my mind that hormones could be playing such a huge role this early.

It makes me sad that people will inevitably see a mom doing this and try to shame her for feeding her kids smiley fries and processed foods. But what I see is a mom getting dinner on the table with the help of some convenience foods that contain protein and fibre, and pairing it with some fruit for extra nutrients. What happens if you “run out of calories” before dinner? Regardless of whether you think this mindset is toxic, it’s important to know that it is NORMAL for our hunger and energy needs to change day to day. You’re not a failure if you eat more calories at lunch and still eat a normal dinner.
