New Mexico is one of the most tight-knit states in the country, and right now, there are federal changes to SNAP food assistance that our community needs to know about. I have partnered with the New Mexico Health Care Authority (@nm_hca) to help spread the word. These changes will take effect when someone renews their benefits or applies for the first time.

Some groups may be impacted more than others, including adults subject to new work requirements, households facing documentation or citizenship changes, or those dealing with new paperwork at renewal. But this list isn’t exhaustive; everyone currently receiving SNAP should double-check their eligibility.

The most important thing you can do right now — whether this affects you or someone you love — is stay informed. Everyone who receives assistance should check their eligibility and update their contact information ASAP, no matter what. Be on the lookout for information arriving via mail.

The New Mexico Health Care Authority is available to answer any questions, including whether you qualify for any exceptions.

There is a new swanky spot in the Santa Fe Railyard, and it’s perfect for a classy night out.

I went to Gatsby’s Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge for the first time on a Friday night a few weeks ago and immediately loved the vibe. @gatsbysnm has a softly-lit speakeasy atmosphere that feels cozy and elevated, and the champagne on entry sets the tone perfectly.

Their menu had a great range, and they have an impressive selection of spirits. Their drink menu includes the classics, a list of signature cocktails, wines by the glass, and even a one-hundred-dollar margarita if you are feeling really bougie!

A member of their staff gave me a tour, and I got to peek into the private rooms with balcony access that you can rent. They would be perfect for nights when concerts are happening in the Railyard, and you want your own spot with a view.

I ordered the Daisy Kiss, and it was precisely the kind of cocktail I love, so I ordered a second one. James had a dirty martini and said it was the best he had ever had. We shared the truffle fries, the street tacos, and an impressively sized and tasty tuna tartare. Every single thing was so so good.

Their daily happy hour runs from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with three cocktails discounted to $10 each and 20% off the entire food menu. They have live music on Fridays starting at 6:00 pm, and musicians were setting up as we were heading out, so I want to go back and experience it next time! They also have late hours and a late-night menu offered, which is always exciting!

We will definitely be back! #GatsbysNM #SantaFeRailyard #SantaFeNewMexico

This might be one of the most anticipated restaurant openings in Santa Fe! Salad Fe (@thesaladfe) did something I wish more businesses would do. They announced their plans early, kept the community updated, and built anticipation instead of simply opening their doors one day. That’s a big reason why so many locals have been excited for this one.

Salad Fe recently opened at DeVargas Center (@devargascenter) and I stopped in a few weeks ago during their first few days of soft opening. Right now they are serving salads all made to order right in front of you, with every dressing crafted in-house. They plan to offer wraps and protein bowls once they find their footing.

I ordered the signature full Greco salad: romaine hearts and spring mix, knife cut genoa salami, chickpeas, feta, english cucumber, sweetie drop peppers, crispy onions, and a creamy greek vinaigrette. I also added chicken to it, and the salad was gigantic! I do like that they offer some of their salads as half salads.

Add this to your Santa Fe lunch list!

This iconic Santa Fe spot is known for two things: their delicious New Mexican food and their famously strong frozen margaritas. The Swirl is a frozen house margarita with a sangria twist, and The Frogg is the same but instead with Grand Marnier. Both are dangerously delicious, which is probably why there’s a two-drink limit at @tomasitas_santafe!

Find them in the historic Santa Fe Railyard at 500 S Guadalupe Street!

I’m kicking myself for taking this long to finally visit Remix Audio Bar (@rmxab). Don’t make the same mistake I did!

Remix Audio Bar is a zero-proof listening bar, a ramen bar, and a vinyl-driven DJ space all under one roof on Guadalupe Street in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The ramen lives up to every good thing you’ve heard about it. Trust me on that one! My husband and I both ordered the Shoyu Pork Ramen with Miso Broth and loved it! The beautifully poached egg was an excellent touch.

They’re open Wednesday through Saturday, 4:00 to 10:00 p.m., with food starting at 5:00. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available too.

This is also just a really great spot to actually be present, meet up with friends, put your phone down, and let the music do its thing. Something we could all probably stand to do more of. They also have some games set up around the space!

If this has been on your list as long as it’s been on mine, this is your sign. Santa Fe deserves to have spots like this packed, especially after everything Guadalupe Street businesses have been through with construction. Go support them and share this with someone you want to go with!

Parking note: meter parking is available on Jefferson St. which is free after 6pm #remixaudiobar #santafenm #santafenewmexico

I finally checked out Time Traveler’s Gastropub and I am genuinely mad at myself for waiting this long. @timetravelersgastropub has been on my list for months and one visit was all it took to understand why people are obsessed.

We went during happy hour with our baby and had the best time. The snack bar platter was such a good deal and that curry sauce was unreal. I’m not kidding when I say I almost ordered a second just for the sauce. The fish and chips were some of the best I have ever had. The lamb tenderloin was rich, tender and so decadent.

My Lavender Lemon Drop martini and Cupid’s French 75 were both perfect. They also offer a “choose your own adventure” cocktail menu which is such a fun twist. You pick your spirit, one of their house made syrups and how you want your drink prepared.

Happy hour is every day from 3 to 5 and honestly if you haven’t been yet, this is one of those spots you will wish you tried sooner. Cozy vibe. Incredible food. Creative drinks. We will absolutely be back.

Save this if you have been wanting a new favorite spot in Santa Fe, New Mexico!

#Ad Mark your calendars! Frazier Shows (@fraziershows) is bringing the Santa Fe Summer Carnival back to Santa Fe, New Mexico June 18–21, 2026!

There’s something about a carnival that instantly takes you back. The rides, the games, the lights, the smell of funnel cake in the air… it feels like summer.

I visited last year and had so much fun reliving those childhood memories. This year, I’m already looking forward to going back, and someday bringing our little guy along when he’s big enough to enjoy the rides too.

Here’s what you need to know:
• Thursday, June 18: 6–10pm
• Friday, June 19: 6pm–11pm
• Saturday, June 20: 3pm–12am
• Sunday, June 21: 3–9pm

Admission is free but you will need tickets to ride the rides. Each ride takes between 4–7 tickets.
• 1 ticket: $1
• 20 tickets: $20
• 40 tickets: $35
• 100 tickets: $75

Or grab a wristband for unlimited rides during these windows:
• Thursday & Friday: 6–9pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 3–6pm
Wristbands are $30 at the gate or $27 online (they stop selling them one hour before they expire).

Find it at Rodeo De Santa Fe, 3237 Rodeo Rd in Santa Fe, New Mexico. You can buy tickets in person or online through Frazier Shows to skip the line when you arrive. And if you’re not around this time, they’ll be back August 6-9!

If you love having your hair played with, and honestly who doesn’t, you need to try this!

I had an incredible experience at @mocheadspa in Albuquerque, the first head spa in New Mexico! It was genuinely one of the most relaxing things I have done in a long time.

I booked the Restore treatment, which is one-hour long and $108, and Ashtynn, the specialist who did my service, was incredible. When you arrive at Mộc Head Spa, you start by choosing one of six aromatherapy options, then change into their silk gown and silk robe with spa slippers, and they get up close and personal with your scalp so you can actually see the areas they will be focusing on during your session. It was fascinating!

If you’ve seen videos of head spas before, there is this calming water spout that flows over your head which I thought was going to be the star of the show, but somehow it was not even my favorite part. The vibrating scalp massager and the silicone brushes that break up dead skin and clogged follicles were next level. If this sounds soothing to you, this experience is going to ruin you for regular spa days.

The entire space is calm, beautiful, and quiet. I left feeling lighter, clearer, and like my brain had finally shut off for the first time in weeks.

If you have long and or thick hair, there is an additional charge, which is something to keep in mind when booking.

Send this to someone who needs to treat themselves! 🧖🏼‍♀️ #mocheadspa #albuquerque #newmexico

If you’re looking for a sweet treat on the Santa Fe Plaza and also want to add some whimsy to your day, you need to stop into Chainé Specialty Cookie Shop on Burro Alley!

@chaine_santafe is the cutest little pink cookie shop, and I will happily go out of my way to stop in for some of their fabulous French-style macaroons and specialty cookies! I love how they constantly switch up the flavors so you can try new ones. My favorite cookie is the cereal cookie with fruity pebbles!

My friends have all been raving about their Cherry Almond Matcha, and now, after my recent visit, I completely understand the hype! If you’re not into matcha, they also have chai and espresso drinks like lattes and cappuccinos.

The shop is open weekdays from 10 to 3 (except closed Mondays) and weekends from 11 to 4, or until they sell out of cookies, which happens quite often during popular tourist months. So, plan ahead if this spot is on your must-visit list, and it should be!

Our first vacation as a family of three will definitely be one to remember! Our son turned four months old on the first night of our stay, which also happened to be James’ and my sixth dating anniversary.

We stayed in a new Petite King Sofa room at The Springs Resort (@pagosahotsprings) in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. These rooms are part of their latest expansion, and the layout was perfect for a pack-and-play, as well as the endless amount of baby supplies we traveled with. It’s a good thing The Springs Resort is only a three-hour drive from Santa Fe! It was incredibly comfortable for us, and the large windows let in a tremendous amount of natural light.

We had some unexpected rain the day we arrived, but the next two days were absolutely gorgeous. We took an early morning walk around the property, grabbed to-go breakfast at The Cafe, and then headed to the resort’s original side to find a shady spot by the San Juan River. Since our son is too young for sunscreen and natural spring waters, we didn’t get in the water just yet, but it was so peaceful to sit by the pools, relax, and enjoy our lunch from The Barefoot Grill. After, we all had a quick nap and got ready for dinner. We had dinner reservations at Wild Finch (@wildfinchpagosa), the fabulous new restaurant on the property, and I’ll share more on that later!

After we put our little guy to bed, I slipped away to the new adult-only side for a sunset soak with a cocktail from 1881 Poolside Provisions. It was exactly the kind of “me time” I was looking for! One of my favorite details was how they list the temperature of every pool and update it throughout the day so you always know what you’re getting into—pun intended. The 52 soaking pools and cold plunges at The Springs Resort are fed by the world’s deepest geothermal spring, the mother spring, which lives on their property. And, when you stay at the resort, you’re welcome to soak 24/7!

This was the perfect first vacation with our little guy and a great way to celebrate our family! Thank you, @pagosahotsprings, for hosting us!

You have hopefully already heard that New Mexico has become the first state in the nation to offer no-cost Universal Child Care, providing assistance to eligible families regardless of income.

I’m excited to partner with the Early Childhood Education & Care Department (ECECD) on this post to share with you how this incredible program has positively impacted my family!

We are incredibly fortunate that my mother-in-law can care for our son while both my husband and I work, and we are almost through the process of getting her approved as a home care provider, so our family can take advantage of the Universal Child Care program. Once she’s officially approved, the state will pay her directly for caring for him in her own home, and we won’t owe anything out of pocket, which is such a huge relief.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience working with @newmexicoececd so far. Every person we have spoken with has been knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely helpful. Forms and requirements can be confusing, so being able to reach someone by phone to answer questions in real time has been invaluable.

There is a lot of great information available on the ECECD website about Universal Child Care, and if you are available this Saturday, January 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., I highly recommend attending the free, in-person, @_santafam_ Coffee & Crying family meetup for an in-person information session with ECECD at Santa Fe Montessori Childcare Program. A representative will be there to answer questions, explain the program, and help families understand their options.

I know some areas of New Mexico, Santa Fe included, are in need of more child care providers, and ECECD is working on that as well. Even if you don’t yet have a provider, you can still start the Universal Child Care application process.

This program has the potential to change everything for so many families across our state. If you are currently navigating child care, I strongly encourage you to explore it.

#Ad Frazier Shows is bringing the Santa Fe Summer Carnival August 7–10, this year at a NEW location: Rodeo de Santa Fe! Frazier Shows has been bringing classic carnival fun to New Mexico and the Southwest for over 45 years, and they’re back with rides, games, and all the fair food you’ve been craving.

The carnival brings back such great childhood memories and I can’t wait for our little guy to be big enough to enjoy it. This year I got a mom’s night out while my husband put our son to sleep.

Here’s what you need to know:
• Thursday, August 7: 6–10pm
• Friday, August 8: 6pm–12am
• Saturday, August 9: 3pm–12am
• Sunday, August 10: 3–9pm

Admission is free but you will need tickets to ride the rides. Each ride takes between 4–7 tickets.
• 1 ticket: $1
• 20 tickets: $20
• 40 tickets: $35
• 100 tickets: $75

Or grab a wristband for unlimited rides during these windows:
• Thursday & Friday: 6–9pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 3–6pm
Wristbands are $30 at the gate or $27 online. (Heads up: they stop selling them one hour before they expire.)

Find it at 3237 Rodeo Rd, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. You can buy tickets in person or online through the Frazier Shows (@fraziershows) website to skip the line when you arrive! #FrazierShowsPartner #SantaFeSummerCarnival #FrazierShows #SummerCarnival #Carnival

I recently enjoyed some incredible food on a @simplysocialnm influencer trip for @visitlascruces and @newmexicotrue

Save this post to reference next time you’re planning a trip to Las Cruces, New Mexico!

The Elote Ribs appetizer from Bosque Brewing Company’s (@bosquebrewingco) Public House. My new favorite way to eat elotes. This dish is part of Bosque’s new Craft Kitchen Menu, now available at select locations throughout New Mexico.

This ceviche from Si Señor (@sisenorrestaurantlc) wasn’t even on the menu, but it should be, and they’ll happily make it by request. The sauce was incredible and paired perfectly with their Rosa Bonita gin cocktail.

Everything at FARMesilla (@farmesilla)! On my recent trip to @visitlascruces, our influencer group enjoyed a fabulous lunch from Chef Becky’s (@nmcookaffair) catering menu, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had lately. The Habanero Pickled Shrimp and the Rioja Braised Beef Short Ribs were so delicious. I also learned FARMesilla was recently purchased by Icebox Brewing Company. Still, the plan is to keep it the same beloved farm-to-table restaurant we know while expanding it further.

The Açaí Bowl from Grounded Coffee (@grounded.lounge). They have five different varieties, and the Alma is my favorite. Grounded is a retro coffee bar, wood-fired pizza, and wine lounge with many plant-based and gluten-free options, which makes me so happy.

I’ve got a few more trips to southern New Mexico coming up, so I’ll have even more to share soon! Give @simplycaitlinelizabeth a follow for more things to do in New Mexico! Where should I go next?

I already have my phone out to take photos of my dinner, and now I can use it to show my ID too! This post is #Sponsored by the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Department.

You can now add your New Mexico driver’s license or state ID to your phone’s digital wallet, so you can present it easily, privately, and securely at places where proof of age is required, like bars, restaurants, and liquor stores.

@elnidosantafe is one of the first restaurants in Santa Fe to accept the New Mexico Mobile ID. It’s also accepted at TSA checkpoints at the Albuquerque International Sunport and Lea County Regional Airport, making travel a little easier, too.

Your info stays protected. You’ll always be able to review what data is being requested and choose whether or not to share it. It’s free, completely optional, and a smart step toward added convenience and security.
You’ll still need to carry your physical ID for law enforcement or places that aren’t set up for digital IDs yet, but I’d love to see more New Mexico businesses get on board. Restaurants across the state should look into what it takes to start accepting Mobile ID.

To get started, just head to the digital wallet on your phone. For more info, visit the New Mexico MVD website.

After five years of building a loyal following through pop-ups, Tender Fire Kitchen (@tenderfirekitchen) is opening its very first brick-and-mortar location in the Midtown District! I had the chance to visit during their soft opening, after eagerly watching the construction come together on social media for months.

Tender Fire Kitchen was created as a warm, welcoming gathering place centered around soulful food and genuine hospitality. Their menu features organic, locally sourced, seed-oil-free ingredients, with wood-fired sourdough pizzas offered with meat, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

I ordered the Soppressata pizza, which was incredible! I planned on taking some home, but ended up finishing the whole thing. It paired perfectly with the Casita-Rita, which is like a classic margarita sweetened with honey! They also have a big wine selection, lots of local beers, and a full bar.

I was also extremely impressed by how kid-friendly this space is! They have high chairs, silicone tableware to borrow, and coloring pages with crayons. They will also have a dog-friendly patio opening up when the weather is consistently warm.

I have been a big fan of Tender Fire since their pop-up days, so seeing them open a permanent home here feels like a huge moment for the Santa Fe food scene.

Tender Fire Kitchen officially opens to their community on March 6th, and to the greater public on March 13, at 1025 Midtown Calle Central in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with reservations available soon on Resy. I believe they plan to be open Thursday through Monday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.

Share this with someone you want to try this new Santa Fe pizza spot with! #TenderFireKitchen #SantaFeNM #NewMexico

Have you heard about this brand-new spot in Santa Fe serving Thai and Malay-inspired dishes? Leo’s (@leossantafe) recently opened on Hickox Street near Tune-Up Cafe, and I’ve been really excited to check them out.

I’ve also partnered with the New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Administration (@nmwca) to spread the word about something else that’s brand new—and required. Every business in New Mexico must display an updated Workers’ Compensation poster in a visible location by December 31, 2025.

Whether you’re opening a new restaurant like Leo’s or have been in business for years, make sure you’re in compliance before the deadline. You can download the updated poster or request a free printed copy at www.workerscomp.nm.gov.

Leo’s is every bit as fantastic as people say they are. Arrive early, as they don’t take reservations and there’s always a line to get in. My favorite dish we tried was the Shepherd’s lamb shank with curry pickled mustard greens. I also loved two of their most popular items, which sell out quickly: the crab nam prik and house-made rice noodles, both of which have a kick if you enjoy spicy food.

Nothing pairs better with mouthwatering food than legal compliance :)

This is the kind of place I would recommend when you’re craving sushi in Santa Fe and want plenty of options without spending a ton of money!

I recently stopped by Fu Sushi for a late lunch because I love sushi and have been wanting to try one of Santa Fe’s new all you can eat sushi spots now that they’ve been open for a little while. Overall I had a really good experience! For the price, it’s a great deal. My favorite roll was the Black Dragon Roll and the sashimi hit the spot. There was honestly only one roll I truly didn’t like, and the server was kind enough to swap it for something else. But all my 👍🏻/👎🏻 ratings shown in my Reel are my options, so try whatever sounds good to you!

Fu’s menu is double-sided showing Standard items for $19.99 per person on one side or Premium for $30.99, which also includes all items on the Standard menu! I’d personally get Premium every time because I love sashimi, and that’s only available for Premium. Kids under 4 eat free and kids ages 4 to 7 are $9.99, though I wasn’t totally clear if that includes both menu options.

Find Fu Sushi in College Plaza South by the (now closed) Smith’s on Cerrillos here in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They are open daily 11:00 am to 9:00 pm except closed on Tuesdays. Have you been to Fu Sushi yet? What should I order next time? #FuSushiSantaFe #SantaFeNM #SantaFeNewMexico

Hot patootie, bless my soul, I really loved this Rocky Horror burlesque experience aboard @skyrailway!

Rocky Horror Picture Show was one of my favorite movies growing up, so getting to experience it on the train with burlesque, drag, and more by Zircus Erotique (@zircuserotique) was a blast!

We boarded this one-night-only special Burlesque Express experience at the Santa Fe Depot and enjoyed a ride filled with music, glitter, and all our favorite movie moments! Sexy Riff Raff sent me 😂 Did you know this movie came out 50 years ago?!

@skyrailway hosts all kinds of creative and unexpected experiences like this one. Keep an eye out to see what’s coming up!
