BCB London – Pour Test Challenge In 2025 we pour tested over 140 bartenders with our competition standard pour test at BCB London. Using a jigger or free pouring, the task is to make 17 discrete pours, as quickly and accurately as you can. To hit the expected/required pass mark of 0 (zero) points, you need to average 95% accuracy and do so in 60 seconds. Easy, right? So what were the top line results for 2025. • Only NINE scores were above the expected/required score of ZERO – and these scores came from just FIVE bartenders. • 74% of bartenders chose to use Japanese style jiggers to make their pours….but • The TOP 3 slots went to bartenders using classic, straight-sided, pub/thimble jiggers. • Out of the TOP 30 positions, just two places featured bartenders that chose to use free pouring only as their method. • Over 50% of the bartenders scored LESS than 90% accuracy • Over 34% of the bartenders scored LESS than 85% accuracy Think you can do better? Most bartenders do. Until the pressure is on. The Pour Test Challenge is coming back for BCB London 2026. Prize money of £2000 for the winner, and heaps of other prizes.
