I created this carousel for LinkedIn today. I’m oh so happy that’s the channel I’m public on because I like Instagram way too much to have it become a work channel. 😅
So usually I leave that work-stuff-daily-content-posting to LinkedIn, post videos here & there on Nova’s insta, and once in a while let my 1,000 closest friends & fam here know what I’m up to from a nova perspective.
I realized a few days ago that this past year I grew my LinkedIn by 36k followers. Now at 55k after 2 years and it was time for a little reintroduction to how it all began.

I found this post that I wrote two years ago, just a few months after I launched Nova Chief of Staff.
If that girl knew then that two years later we’d be nearing 2,000 students from 45 countries, 3 course formats with over 150 5-star reviews… and just coming home from a private consulting gig with the office of the CEO for a major healthcare company… she’d probably be pretty pumped.
But the note would be the same.
If you find something that you’re uniquely well-suited for, that you have the confidence not that you can do anything but that you can figure it out (or find people who will), that aligns so well with what brings you joy and your lifestyle goals for your family… go after it and don’t look back.
I’ve known very little about most of the things I’ve run into as a Founder. Yes Nova is greatly needed & solves a major gap in the industry. And yes I was a successful Chief of Staff & people leader that had a lot of opportunities to learn big things on the job.
But launching a full on company? Executing quickly with quality? Bootstrapping high growth from year one? Partnering with brands? A-Z marketing? Contractors? Instructional design? Live & virtual events? Building a personal brand on LinkedIn? Building an incredible team along with me for all of it?
Nearly every step has been brand new. Foreign. And honestly really, really fun.
I’m proud of what I’ve built, but mostly that I’ve had the courage to go after it. That it fits in with how Cole & I want to live our life: being present together & with Max, lots of fun & adventure, and personally being really proud of building something cool… that’s helping a lot of people.

One week ago we wrapped an incredible 3 days with 144 Nova students at @apcevent Seattle. Our third in-person course. 🙌
This training was extra special because not only was it held in the most beautiful venue in Seattle (home to two of our Nova core team members and the birthplace of our Founder Maggie Olson) but it was our largest in-person class to date!
To every student who trusted us…THANK YOU! Your growth was real and the energy in the room was unmatched.
