What the hell are Fable, Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku? These are the 4 model classes of @claudeai In order from MOST to LEAST intelligent, it’s: Fable Opus Sonnet Haiku When should you use each? Well, the more intelligent the model, the more complex of tasks it can handle, and the longer it can go without making a mistake. It also will tend to use more tokens, so if you want to save that, you can use a lower model or turn down the “effort” (this keeps the level of judgement high while ‘forcing’ Claude to do less ‘thinking’ and fewer tool calls.) Had a blast spending the last couple days close to my old college stomping grounds, hanging out with legends like @rpn , @colinandsamir , @siliconvalleygirl , @kallaway and even meeting Demis Hassabis himself. (Founder of Google Deepmind!) Google Gemini unveiled a ton of great updates, including Gemini Spark, which, as you know, I’m obsessed with, because I believe we should be using AI to build our dream lives. And Spark helps you do just that by connecting to all your apps and helping you get sh*t done while you’re out living your life. What were ur biggest takeaways from the announcements? I had no idea how hopeless the average 10-year old is today. This absolutely breaks my heart. We need to seriously reconsider what we’re doing. Cowork is the perfect middle ground between the back and forth chatbot experience and the hardcore coding experience with AI. It has the same brain powering Claude Code, but in a much more easy-to-navigate window. I personally have 3 rules of thumb for when to use Cowork over the regular chat mode… let me know if you have any others! 1. If you’re using a ton of documents. (You are probably pushing the context window and might be getting sub-par results in chat mode.) 2. If you’re using data and it’s super important that Claude doesn’t hallucinate. (Cowork writes and executes its own code which helps it to avoid hallucination.) 3. If you’re bouncing around between a lot of sources, especially on long tasks. The CEOs of OpenAI and Anthropic (bitter rivals) have found common ground. aND ITS A BIG DEAL. In light of the HuggingFace incident both Sam Altman and Dario Amodei agree that they need the government to step in and add regulations that will slow the pace of AI development. Which is extremely counterintuitive in a capitalist economy and exactly what we need. Right now OpenAI and Anthropic have no choice but to try and outpace each other. That’s capitalism in a nutshell. In this race we are discovering time and again how truly unpredictable agents can be. Couple that with more and more powerful models and we have a recipe for an existential risk. Rather than senselessly catapulting us into a disaster of our own making (think HuggingFace but it happens to the entire financial sector, or the global energy grid), both CEOs are calling for regulation that will force ALL frontier labs to slow down and prioritize safety. With the current models being as powerful as they are we already have so much runway to make progress. I don’t know about you but it makes me feel very hopeful seeing the leaders of AI put winning the race to the side and bring safety to the forefront. What do you think? #ai

I know. Plot twist. There are 2 main reasons why @claudeai is currently my top choice of multipurpose AI chatbot. 1 - The way it preserves my thinking by asking me for my gut reaction to what it spits out. “How does this land with you?” “Does this feel right?” pushes me to own my OWN opinion about its response, rather than taking its answer at face value. This is CRITICAL as we all think about how using these tools at scale can impact our ability to think critically and refine our taste. 2 - The absolutely magic it can do with Excel. I feel like I’ve just scratched the tip of the iceberg here, and I already feel like I’ve discovered magic. Claude’s ability to generate, real, working models based on actual data from my real life has completely changed how I think about predicting the future, monitoring cash flow, and building my businesses. These two differences might seem small, but they’re meaningful enough to me to warrant a significant switch in where I’m spending my time. Super curious if others have found similar or different reasons to use Claude more these days. Lmk in the comments! #ClaudePartner
