The NVIDIA-OpenAI deal has zero impact on our financial relationship with OpenAI. We remain highly confident in OpenAI’s ability to raise funds and meet its commitments.
Recent media activity about the Abilene site are false and incorrect. First, Crusoe and Oracle are operating in lockstep to deliver one of the world's largest AI Data centers in Abilene at record-breaking pace. Two buildings are completely operational and the rest of the campus is on track. Second, Oracle has completed leasing for the additional 4.5GW to deliver on our commitments to OpenAI. We continuously evaluate sites around the world to meet the growing demand for OCI by working with great partners and customers all the time. t.co/rwuwL1QusC t.co/ZJbK257gAv
Recent media reports about our data centers reflect a fundamental misunderstanding of how AI data centers are built and operated. Oracle’s AI data centers, both current and future, are designed to support liquid cooling, higher hardware density, and multiple generations of hardware from a range of vendors. In practical terms, upgrading hardware in an existing AI data center is similar to installing a new refrigerator in an existing home - the structure does not need to be rebuilt each time technology improves. Our flagship Abilene site remains on schedule, with 200MW already operational. Any claim that the planned capacity at this site is delayed is inaccurate. Oracle takes a rigorous and disciplined approach to aligning customer demand with investment in AI infrastructure before capital is committed. We continue to evaluate sites globally and work closely with our valued customers and partners to support growing demand for OCI.
Our partners’ financing for the Doña Ana County, NM; Shackelford County, TX; and Port Washington, WI data centers are secured at market standard rates, progressing through final syndication on schedule, and consistent with investment‑grade deals.
Oracle is committed to driving economic value for Abilene and its residents. Our first two data center buildings alone are expected to create $1 billion in local economic impact over the next 20 years. We are developing local training to help residents obtain high quality jobs with Oracle; and once the campus is fully operational, we expect to deliver property tax revenue up to 32% of the City of Abilene’s current FY 2025 Budgeted Property Tax Revenue, fueling prosperity for the next generation to come. As we grow, Oracle will continue to invest in the Abilene community through existing local partnerships with organizations including The Noah Project, Boys and Girls Club, and West Abilene Food Bank or by directly funding organizations like our recent contribution to Taylor County's 12 rural volunteer only fire departments. We will also work with local developers, community leaders, and the City of Abilene to identify ways to help expand housing options and support the community’s continued growth.
Oracle’s construction progress across our AI data centers remains on schedule and on plan. We’re also rolling out local workforce trainings, subcontractor engagement efforts, and technical skilling programs - in classrooms and through on-the-job training - to ensure that the thousands of good-paying jobs we’re creating can be filled by local workers as much as possible.
Proud to be working with @Sama and the @OpenAI team on the largest AI training facility in the world
In the past 4 hours, some Oracle Cloud customers have been intermittently experiencing connection timeouts, errors, and increased latency in Ashburn. We are working quickly to restore normal service operations. t.co/e3tHqVLwU0
Oracle is committed to advancing American AI leadership while ensuring the communities we work with to develop AI data centers benefit from our investments. Port Washington, Wisconsin is a great example. (1/3)
Crusoe continues to be a strong and reliable partner. We are very proud of our relationship and our progress in bringing capacity online in Abilene at a rapid pace to meet our customer’s needs.
