The 5-step formula I WISH I had when I started. I didn’t even know what body recomposition was and that it was a goal I could achieve (especially!!! As a new trainer…!). Oh the wasted time… I’ve laid out two paths depending on where you’re starting (important to note that a seasoned trainer will need to do this in phases of deficit & maintenance/ building). But all the rules still apply! Let me know if this helps and if content like this is what you need!! And check out @Train With Soph because that’s where we do alll of this for you! 🤎🤎

Eating no dairy, sugar, gluten and alcohol has been crazy for my body. This new approach to nutrition works so well for my body. Can’t wait to see where I’m at in another 4 weeks. #lowinflammationdiet

1. I’d never spend more than 12–16 weeks in a deficit. Fat loss is a phase, not a lifestyle 2. I’d never enter a deficit more than once per year (max twice). Maintenance should be your baseline 3. I’d never diet without a clear exit strategy (reverse diet) 4. I’d never fast to decrease my eating window. Fasting for women’s hormones isn’t wise. 5. I’d never skip meals ahead of eating a meal out. This always lead to excessive overeating 6. I’d never take my food scales out to dinner. I really did do this 7. I’d never remove foods I love. This is a fast way to regain fat when the diet ends 8. I’d never drop calories after one high weigh in or even 1 week without a drop. 1 week likely isn’t a plateau 9. I’d never fill my calories with low-calorie/ fat free foods. Whole foods fill you up & provide nutrients 10. I’d never obsess over hitting calories and macros to a tee. Prioritise calories & protein & know weekly averages help consistency 11. I wouldn’t neglect weight training & gym performance. Maintaining muscle & strength helps fat loss. 12. I’d never sacrifice losing my period to be in a smaller body. Period. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years - if you’re on a fat loss journey, welcome xx #fatlosstips #fatlosshelp #howtolosefat

I have 4 different brands, and a total of 8 different wide leg pants. I’m obsessed. I love the style and look… but why does this happen?! Am I the problem? #widelegpants

Low inflammation diet and easy to digest foods. No gluten, dairy, alcohol or sugar… I feel amazing because of it. But how tf does this become my new norm. Eating meals out has been tough and one ‘off meal’ leaves me super bloated. But my endo pain has gone down. #lowinflammation #guthealth

People hate it when I talk about this like it’s a personal attack on them, but it’s just the truth of some people circumstances. Let me get into the nuances a bit #lowcaloriediet #deficit #fatloss

Guys I’m tired… why do people have the audacity to leave their weights on machines?? People who are injured, unable to shift weights or reach them, who are on a time crunch or just.. you know, share the fkn space w you, deserve to jump on a machine without your lazy ass leaving weights on it. Grow up. #gymhumour #packupyourweights #GymLife

This was meant to be a short term trial to support my body ahead of getting the mirena in so that my body would be more likely to accept it. Reducing inflammation and supporting digestion for 1 month. I wasn’t expecting to feel SO GOOD! I usually eat whole foods, so I didn’t think I’d feel much different.. how wrong I was. The changes related to my weight, but more than that the bloating had gone away, the inflammation was reduced my energy was up and my endo symptoms down. I decided to stick with it as a way of life. And whilst it’s not always easy and I’m still navigating it, it’s helped me so, so much. Now you can eat this way in the @Train With Soph app with a meal plan set to your calories and macros. I’m so excited to share this with you given how many of you requested it! 🍓🍞🥩🍏🥞

1. Nobody is watching you as much as you think they are - everyone is far more focused on their own workout than yours. 2. You don't need to know how every machine works before you start - this will come with time. 3. Having a plan before you walk in changes everything - you’ll feel more confident knowing what you're there to do. 4. Start with 4-5 exercises, not 10 - simple = less overwhelming. 5. Go at quieter/ off-peak times if possible or to a smaller boutique studio. 6. Remember that even the most experienced people in the gym were beginners once. 7. You don't need the perfect body or strength to deserve taking up space - you belong like everyone else. 8. Feeling anxious & nervous doesn’t mean what you’re doing is wrong, it’s a feeling you can work through with exposure & time. 9. Do a DB only workout or stretches to get a feel for the vibe, where things are, and how it all works. 10. Go with a friend/ partner so it feels less intimidating. 11. Confidence isn't something you find before you go - it's something you build by showing up especially when you don’t want to. 12. Wear something you feel confident in. 13. Ask for a gym tour from the staff. I promise the gym gets less scary much faster than you think - one day you'll realise you've stopped worrying about everyone else and started focusing on yourself. #gymbigsis #gymadvice #gymanxiety

8 months of low inflammation eating and it’s changed so much for me. With the mirena in it’s made it a lot harder again but I know when I go off the guidelines I follow I feel really sick. #lowinflammation #inflammation #lowinflammationdiet

My guess is that because the weight gain happened straight after getting the mirena in, it’s related to the hormones. I’m hoping it settles bc my body is bloated and puffy and not feeling like a representation of all the inflammation lowering things I do. #mirena #lowinflammation #iud

Current full day of eating on this gut health/ inflammation reducing diet I’ve been following ahead of getting my IUD in for my endo! The goal is to create a food environment and pray it works to help with my pain (there I go talking about periods again…). #fdoe #guthealthfood #inflammationfood

So many of us are going through the same thing with the mirena, I wish it was spoken about more. It’s a simple procedure but feels like the impact to our body isn’t so simple. How’s your Mirena experience going? #mirena #mirenasymptoms #inflammation

So many women said they experienced cramps and spotting for 3-6 months, linger in some cases. I’m wondering how long it’ll go on for bc I’m really sick of the daily cramps and spotting. It’ll be worth it if it takes away the pain in the long run but I’m feeling impatient #iud #mirena #mirenaexperience
