In June 2019, a 49-year-old man in Pajęczno, Poland, was arrested for driving a Soviet-era T-55 tank through the town’s streets while intoxicated. The tank was being transported on a trailer, which broke down, leading the man to unload the vehicle. Instead of waiting for repairs, he decided to take the 36-ton tank for a ride. Residents, alarmed by the sight, alerted the police. Upon arrival, officers found the tank parked on a main street with the man standing nearby. He was detained and faced charges that could lead to up to eight years in prison for creating a dangerous situation.
