Welcome back to Earth, Artemis II crew! What if you had an opportunity to travel around the moon? Christina Koch (@astro_christina) has worked at NASA for the last 10 years, and has been a part of groundbreaking missions in outer space. In 2019, Christina embarked on a 328-day stay on the International Space Station, setting a record for the longest single space flight by a woman. Now Christina has a new assignment on the horizon: Artemis II. She was selected to join the crew traveling around the moon for the first time in 50 years, making her the first woman to make this historic voyage. @shelbystanger had the honor of chatting with Christina back in 2024 on Wild Ideas Worth Living where she shared how the team was preparing for the monumental event. Thrilled to announce that @rei is the title sponsor for my upcoming ride around the world 🌎 The goal— 18,000+ miles (29,000km) in under 78.5 days for the fastest overall time. This time, I’m going with a support in the form of local crews. The route is split up into 7 pieces. More details coming soon. A couple weeks ago, it was really looking like we were going to have to pull the plug 🔌 We hadn’t raised half of our budget. Then, REI Coop, my first media partner in 2015, came onboard to get us off the ground. Phew! We’re still under budget, but I’m proud to say that Komoot, Specialized, Rapha, SRAM, Wahoo, SILCA, Revelate Designs, Thule & Whoop are all contributing to make this happen. I’m amazed at the collaboration here— led by REI. Individuals are donating too— wearing LW hats & socks and making us feel supported. Rue & I made a special overnight trip to Nevada to shoot the new bike. We’re going to San Francisco tomorrow & joining a bike ride with @rapha_sanfrancisco on Friday, May 22 at 3:15pm followed by a haircut party at the clubhouse at 5:30pm. I’m buzzing my hair to save time around the world. All are welcome 🤗

I’m Vasu Sojitra, a professional Athlete for The North Face and disability advocate, and here are the accessible products that The North Face and I’ve created: The Universal Wanona 3 tent sets up so fast, with 3 identical poles and a big vestibule for wheelchairs, crutches, or strollers. The Universal One Sleeping Bag ditches the zipper entirely, and magnetic closures you can open with one hand by feel alone. And the Universal Day Pack is designed around one-arm and wheelchair use, and every time I use it, I find a new feature that’s super helpful.
