For decades, political tensions and conflict have shaped how many people view this region. But after traveling through Pakistan ourselves, we discovered something very different from what we often see in the headlines. Beyond the border disputes and media narratives, we found breathtaking mountains, incredible hospitality, rich culture, and some of the most beautiful landscapes we've ever experienced. Sometimes the places we're told the least about have the most to teach us. Pakistan wasn't what the news told us it would beit was so much more.

Location 👇🏔️ Save this for one of the BEST hikes to add to your Washington bucket list 🙌 Best view of 📍 Mount Rainier 🏔️ 🔥 Name: Mount Fremont Fire Lookout 🌲 Distance: 5.6 miles / 9 km round trip ☁️ Elevation gain: 900 feet / 274 m 👣 Difficulty: Strenuous — but very doable if you take your time. NPS estimates around 3–3.5 hours round trip. 🚙 Parking: Park at the Sunrise parking lot inside Mount Rainier National Park. The trail begins from the north side of the lot at the Sourdough Ridge Trailhead. Sunrise is extremely popular, so arriving early or later in the day can help avoid the worst crowds. 🎒 What to bring: Lots of water, snacks, good hiking shoes, sunscreen, layers, headlamp if you’re hiking for sunrise/sunset, and your camera because these views are INSANE. 🐻 What to expect along the trail: Start along Sourdough Ridge and make your way toward Frozen Lake. From the junction, follow the Mount Fremont Trail for the final 1.3 miles toward the lookout. The generosity here has no limits. Sometimes we’d try to refuse because we knew people were offering from the little they had, but their kindness was so genuine it was impossible to say no. We told our families that Pakistanis aren’t just kind… they’re aggressively kind 😂 What’s often labeled as “dangerous” has only ever felt safe, welcoming, and full of heart. Pakistan reminded us that true hospitality isn’t about what people have it’s about how deeply they want to give. 💚🇵🇰

Online it looks terrifying. In real life? It felt intense, yes. But also controlled. The drivers do this every single day. What looks chaotic on a screen feels very different when you’re actually there. And then you reach the hike. And then you see Nanga Parbat. B: North Cascades National Park🌲 • Diablo Lake • Maple Pass • Cascade Pass • Blue Lake Trail • Sahale Glacier Camp B1: Mount Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest🌿 • Picture Lake • Chain Lakes Loop • Artist Point C: Olympic National Park🌊 • Rialto Beach • Ruby Beach • Mount Storm King • Hoh Rainforest • Cape Flattery D: Mount Rainier National Park⛰ • Skyline Trail • Fremont Fire Tower • Sunrise Point • Tipsoo Lake We would spent atleast 3-5 days in Olympic National Park itself , and the rest can easily be done together over 2–3 weeks!
