We arrived around 3:30 AM so we had enough time to park, use the washroom and get ready before starting. 🎒 What to bring: Headlamp, lots of water, snacks, bear spray, bug spray, layers and a basic first-aid kit. Location 👇🏔️ Save this for one of the BEST hikes to add to your Washington bucket list 🙌 Best view of 📍 Mount Rainier 🏔️ 🔥 Name: Mount Fremont Fire Lookout 🌲 Distance: 5.6 miles / 9 km round trip ☁️ Elevation gain: 900 feet / 274 m 👣 Difficulty: Strenuous — but very doable if you take your time. NPS estimates around 3–3.5 hours round trip. 🚙 Parking: Park at the Sunrise parking lot inside Mount Rainier National Park. The trail begins from the north side of the lot at the Sourdough Ridge Trailhead. Sunrise is extremely popular, so arriving early or later in the day can help avoid the worst crowds. 🎒 What to bring: Lots of water, snacks, good hiking shoes, sunscreen, layers, headlamp if you’re hiking for sunrise/sunset, and your camera because these views are INSANE. 🐻 What to expect along the trail: Start along Sourdough Ridge and make your way toward Frozen Lake. From the junction, follow the Mount Fremont Trail for the final 1.3 miles toward the lookout. You’ll hike through alpine meadows and rocky terrain with views getting better and better as you climb. 🌅 What to expect at the lookout: One of those views that genuinely doesn’t look real. The historic fire lookout sits at 7,181 feet, with panoramic views of Mount Rainier, the Cascades, Olympic Mountains and Grand Park on a clear day. The generosity here has no limits. Sometimes we’d try to refuse because we knew people were offering from the little they had, but their kindness was so genuine it was impossible to say no. We told our families that Pakistanis aren’t just kind… they’re aggressively kind 😂 What’s often labeled as “dangerous” has only ever felt safe, welcoming, and full of heart. If you’re travelling between Luxor and Aswan, save these 5 places: 🏛️ Esna Temple Hidden below the streets of Esna. The restored colours on the columns and ceilings are absolutely insane. ✨ Dendera Temple One of the best-preserved temples we visited. The colourful ceilings, massive columns and details make this one a must. 🌴 Philae Temple Located on an island and reached by boat. TIP: Go first thing in the morning. It’s peaceful, less crowded and absolutely beautiful in the morning light. 🌅 Abu Simbel One of the most impressive places in Egypt. Don’t go with the early-morning rush. Go AFTER the crowds leave for a much better experience and photos. And make sure you eat fresh fish in Abu Simbel town before you leave. 🐟 🤯 Karnak Temple Absolutely MASSIVE.
