Here’s my “basic” recipe for two loaves: 720 grams water 170 grams sourdough starter 20 grams salt 1000 grams unbleached white flour Mix everything together. Cover and stretch + fold every 30 minutes (4 rounds). I usually do this before bed and let the dough proof overnight. In the morning, refrigerate for 6 hours. Heat your Dutch oven (lid on) for one hour at 450°F. Divide the dough and shape. Bake for 30 minutes with the lid on. Remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes. Let cool completely before slicing. Torture, but absolutely worth it. Side note: my Mom left her bread knife at church 😂 Who’s adding this to their weekend bake list? #sourdough #sweetsourdough #mybizzykitchen

The secret to making granola clusters 👀. I brought snacks for my strength trainer @benspowerandfitness and @ekjones14 training partner today. This is the second time I’ve made this granola and this will definitely be a staple recipe. I have @minimalistbaker to thank for this incredible recipe! I only slightly adapted her original “Super Chunky Coconut Granola” recipe to create what we have here: the most perfect granola clusters I’ve ever had! 😍 The Perfect Granola: 3 cups oats 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut 1 cup almonds, chopped 1 cup pecans, chopped 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons coconut oil 2/3 cup maple syrup 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 cup Craisins (I left the Craisins out of this version) 1. Preheat your oven to 325F. 2. In a pot over medium/low heat, melt the coconut oil, maple syrup, salt and brown sugar together. Remove from heat once the sugar is dissolved and everything is well combined. Add in the vanilla extract and stir together. 3. In a large bowl, combine the oats, shredded coconuts, pecans, and almonds. 4. Pour the maple syrup mixture into the bowl with the oat mixture and stir well until fully coated. 5. Dump the granola onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Turn the sheet around and bake for an additional 5 minutes. Let cool completely. 6. Break off clusters as large as your heart desires and sprinkle the Craisins all over. Pieces of granola have their place in my heart, but nothing beats a big cluster of granola if you ask me! It’s perfectly sweet, crunchy, salty, and of course…addictive! #mybizzykitchen #granolarecipe #granolaclusters #easyrecipes

I accidentally added 170 grams of starter to my sourdough instead of my usual 100… and honestly? Best. Mistake. Ever. The rise was insane, the flavor was so much deeper, and the crumb? I AM OBSESSED. Between the extra starter and doing two full minutes of stretch + folds every 30 minutes, this loaf might be my new favorite. Here’s my updated “basic” recipe for two loaves: 720 grams water 170 grams sourdough starter 20 grams salt 1000 grams unbleached white flour Mix everything together. Cover and stretch + fold every 30 minutes (4 rounds). I usually do this before bed and let the dough proof overnight on my counter, covered. In the morning, refrigerate for 6 hours. Heat your Dutch oven with the lid on for one hour at 450°F. Divide the dough (I add inclusions right before baking). Bake for 30 minutes with the lid on. Remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes. Let cool completely before slicing. Torture, but worth it! I’m filming a full YouTube video soon so you can follow along step by step. Stay tuned! Have you made sourdough yet?

If summer had a dessert, this would be it 😍 Buttery, flaky crust + juicy blueberries that bake down into the perfect jammy filling… and the best part? It looks impressive but couldn’t be easier. This blueberry galette is what you make when you want something warm, cozy, and a little extra without actually doing the most. Add vanilla ice cream while it’s still warm and thank me later. Save this one, because you will absolutely make it more than once! 👉🏼 comment RECIPE and we will send it over 👌🏼 https://mybizzykitchen.com/2018/07/05/blueberry-galette/

PSA: You don’t have to order a salad to stay on track with your goals! If you think salads are your only option when eating out, you’re not alone. I’m not a veggie girl, so while a salad might be balanced and a good choice, it’s just not for me 😅 But here we are, eating at Culver’s and still staying on track with pot roast, mashed potatoes, and broccoli! This plate comes in at 391 calories, 29g of protein, and only 7 WW points 🙌🏼 Easy, delicious, and kept me FULL. Share this with someone else who doesn’t love salads 😆

Steak lovers, this is your sign to stop walking past this cut! Mariano’s sells this Private Selection Top Sirloin for just $7, and it’s a full 10-ounce steak. I usually split it in half, so my dinner comes out to only $3.50 for a 5-ounce serving. And I am not exaggerating when I say it tastes just like a filet mignon. It’s that good. For this steak, I cooked it for 6 minutes per side, seasoned it with Hardcore Carnivore Black, and then let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. If you don’t have that seasoning, simple salt and pepper will let the flavor of the beef shine. The result? A steak that’s beefy, rich, tender, juicy, and everything I want when I’m craving steak. There is a photo of the beef at the end of the video to take a screenshot the next time you head to the store. 🙌🏼 That $7 is the regular price, not a sale price. If you shop at Metro Market or Kroger, you should be able to find it there too. Now let’s settle the age-old debate. 😄 How do you like your steak cooked? And if you think mine isn’t done enough, tell me in the comments. I promise I can take it! 🤣🤣

Crispy, chewy, buttery, chocolatey… these cornflake chocolate chip cookies are everything. The cornflakes add this irresistible golden crunch that takes a classic cookie to a whole new level 😍 We actually stumbled across another creator making something similar and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so of course we had to get in the kitchen and try our own version. Let’s just say… they did NOT disappoint. Frosted Flakes? YES! They’ve got that nostalgic, cozy flavor with a little twist, and honestly? These might be making their way onto our holiday cookie list this year 👀🎄 But with graduation parties, BBQs, and summer gatherings right around the corner, you don’t have to wait that long to make them. 👉🏼 Trust us: this is one of those recipes you’ll want to keep on repeat. Save this for later and comment “RECIPE” and we’ll send you the link! 💌 https://mybizzykitchen.com/2026/04/16/frosted-flakes-chocolate-chip-cookies/

This photo popped up on my Timehop today from 11 years ago. We were in the hospital, waiting to bring my husband home for hospice. A nurse walked in and asked if he could shave him, and at first I said no because… what was the point? But he gently explained that on his breaks, he would shave patients who needed help or couldn’t do it themselves. It was such a simple act of kindness, but one that caught me completely off guard. In the middle of one of the hardest chapters of my life, here was a stranger choosing to care in a way that went far beyond his job description. I’m so grateful I have this photograph. Proof that this moment actually happened, and a reminder that kindness leaves a mark long after the moment is gone. To every nurse: I commend you. Through all the hospital stays my husband had, I never met a nurse who didn’t give their absolute best. You carry families through moments they’ll never forget, and sometimes you become the steady hand holding everything together. Here’s to kindness, to compassion, and to the quiet ways people show up when we need it most.

Ciabatta-Style Bread! When grocery prices keep creeping up, one of the easiest ways to stretch your dollar is to go back to basics. Making bread from scratch might take a little time, but it’s pennies compared to store-bought…and honestly, it tastes so much better. As someone who has stretched a tiny budget as far as possible, I know how difficult it can be to put good food on the table without breaking the bank. One of the easiest ways to do so is with recipes like this bread! For a fraction of the cost and minimal effort, I made 8 rolls for less than half the price of a grocery store’s 4 rolls. 🌟 Ciabatta-Style Bread (Easy & Budget-Friendly) Ingredients: • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast • 1 tablespoon sugar • 2 ⅓ cups room temperature water • 4 ¾ cups all-purpose flour • ½ teaspoon salt • 2 tablespoons olive oil Instructions: 1. Mix everything except the olive oil together and let it rest for 30 minutes. 2. Add the olive oil, then rest another 30 minutes. 3. Fold the dough and rest for 30 minutes. 4. Fold again and rest for 30 minutes. 5. Fold once more and rest for 30 minutes. 6. Cut the dough and let it rest on the baking tray for 15 minutes. 7. Bake in a preheated 390F oven for 20 minutes. 8. For the best crust, pour ½ cup of ice water into a tray in the bottom of the oven as it bakes. Share your tips below so we can all stretch our dollars! 👇🏼

Today would have been our 25th wedding anniversary. For those of you who don’t know, my husband passed away just shy of our 14th anniversary at the age of 54. The last seven years of his life were hard. On him, and on us. In and out of hospitals. An aortic heart valve replacement after being diagnosed with endocarditis. A third knee replacement after one became infected, which meant living with an antibiotic spacer for six months before it could be replaced again. A hernia surgery that wouldn’t heal, requiring a wound vac for four months. Colon cancer. And eventually, he passed away from complications of congestive heart failure. While I wish with everything in me that he were still here, I also know that the quality of his life during those final years wasn’t what it should have been. And I have peace. Because I truly believe I was born to take care of him until his very last breath. I guess the point of this post is simple: don’t take your partner, your spouse, or your significant other for granted. You never know how long you’ll have them. So give them an extra hug today. And tomorrow. And every day. Because you can. Happy Anniversary, honey 🤍

Of all the things social media has given me, unexpected friendships might be my favorite. 💛 Do you know my friend Jeffrey and are you following him? I found his Instagram back in July of 2020 and casually slipped into his DMs thinking, “we’d be really good friends.” Fast forward almost six years later and here we are. Still talking all the time, still laughing, still showing up for each other. We’ve traveled together to Park City, Utah, Yellowstone, Banff, Canada and basically collected memories instead of just likes. And I’m just so genuinely grateful he’s in my life. Proof that sometimes the internet gets it really, really right. If you don’t already follow him, you should. I think you’ll love him as much as I do. 💫 @jeffreybinney 💕🤗 Um, and I can’t really dance 😆

Perfect for when you want something indulgent but still Weight Watchers-friendly. Here’s how to make 4 servings of these dreamy bites: 💫 Ingredients: 1 large sweet potato (about 1 lb), peeled & sliced to 1/4-inch thickness Avocado oil spray Seasonings: 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper, 1/8 tsp salt 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 💡 How to Make It: 1️⃣ Toss the sweet potato slices in a bowl with avocado oil spray and the seasonings. 2️⃣ On a baking sheet, spread the Parmesan in a single layer. 3️⃣ Lay the seasoned sweet potatoes on top of the cheese. 4️⃣ Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350°F for 10 more minutes. Let us know if you make these, they’re incredible! Proof that sometimes the easiest recipes are the best 🙌🏼

Mini French toast bites that are high in protein and WW friendly? Say less. Huge shout out to Gianna @gnk.fit for inspiring this genius idea! One serving ice made with: 2 CarbMaster low carb hot dog buns (cut each into 5-6 pieces) 1 egg 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar (I use Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust found on the spice aisle) 1/4 cup sugar free syrup (Mrs. Butterworth’s is my go to) Whisk the egg, milk, and cinnamon sugar together. Dunk each piece of bread in the mix, coating both sides. Cook in a nonstick skillet with avocado oil spray over medium heat for 304 minutes per side, or until golden and toasty. Serve with syrup! Stats for the French toast alone: 6 WW points 230 calories | 7 fat | 44 carbs | 26 fiber |24 protein Add 2 Jimmy Dean turkey sausage links and it’s: 10 WW points 330 calories | 14 fat | 45 carbs |26 fiber | 36 protein Not bad for a sweet breakfast that doesn’t leave you hungry an hour later. The CarbMaster brand of products can be found @marianosmarket @mymetromarket @kroger

PSA: You don’t have to order a salad to stay on track with your goals! If you think salads are your only option when eating out, you’re not alone. I’m not a veggie girl, so while a salad might be balanced and a good choice, it’s just not for me 😅 But here we are, eating at Wendy’s and still staying on track with a baked potato, chili, and crispy chicken patty! This plate comes in at 435 calories, 23g of protein, and only 8 WW points 🙌🏼 Easy, delicious, and kept me FULL. Share this with someone else who doesn’t love salads 😆

POV: I’m officially DONE forcing myself to eat plain non-fat Greek yogurt 🤣 Life is way too short to choke something down just to save a couple measly Weight Watchers points. If I don’t love it, I’m not eating it anymore. Period. Today’s parfait though?! OBSESSED. Want the recipe for my trail mix granola? Comment GRANOLA and I’ll send it to your DM’s. Siggi’s vanilla yogurt (3 points) a juicy sumo orange (0) 1/8 cup homemade granola (2) 5 points 20g protein 332 calories Creamy, sweet, fresh, a little crunch, and actually satisfying 🙌 This is your reminder that enjoying your food is part of the lifestyle. Not punishment. What’s your go-to yogurt brand and flavor? 👇 #parfait #granola #easybreakfast

I’m on a plane headed to Farm Aid! ✈️🌱 I’m being hosted by @uprootcenter, an organization that’s giving me the opportunity to learn more about something I admittedly don’t know enough about: how our food actually gets from the farm to our tables. I’ll be talking with local farmers and legislators, asking questions, listening, learning, and hopefully coming home with a much better understanding of the people and systems behind the food we eat every single day. And did I mention Willie Nelson and Dave Matthews will be there?! 😆 So yes, I Photoshopped this photo of us together because I’m manifesting the heck out of meeting them in real life. 😂 Stay tuned! But sitting on this plane, I keep thinking about where I was just six years ago. I was sitting behind a desk after working as a legal secretary for 30 years. I knew I was ready for something different, but walking away from a career I’d had for THREE DECADES was terrifying. I decided to bet on myself. I poured everything I had into turning My Bizzy Kitchen into my full-time career. I had absolutely no idea where it would take me. And now, at 58 years old, I’m sitting on a plane headed to Farm Aid because of this little corner of the internet I started all those years ago. Life is wild. And I thank you for your continued support all these years. Some of you have been with me since 2008! So if you’ve been telling yourself you’re too old to start over, change careers, try something new, or chase the thing you can’t stop thinking about, please remember this: There is no expiration date on creating a life you love. Six years ago I was sitting behind a desk wondering what was next. Today, I’m on my way to Farm Aid. Just say yes. ❤️

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays 😍🎄 This time of year it’s so easy to get caught up in the stress of gifts, lists, and over-consumption. But as I get older, I find myself craving something much simpler. Slowing down. Being present. Being thankful for what I have, not what I don’t. A roof over my head. My trusty dog Todd 🐾 Friends and family I love. Food on the table. For many, these things are a luxury, and I never take them for granted. If this season feels heavy for you, I hope you’re able to find a moment of calm, a breath of peace, and something small to be grateful for. Wishing you peace, happiness, and gratefulness this holiday season. Merry Christmas ❤️ Love, Biz 🎄✨
