How to be frugal chic.

Frugality ≠ deprivation. It means intention with time and money.

1. used reusable natural loofahs I got from hotels and put them in the washing machine - they also save on soap

2. Started wearing less mascara and makeup overall - I’ve been wanting simplicity lately

3. Did at home manicure using the same set of tools

4. Left my food shop one extra day so I could get creative with the remaining ingredients and use up cupboard food

5. Wore the same silk polka dot dress to yet another event because it’s timeless and no one cares

6. I couldn’t get my hands on a certain book for a book club so I listened to an audiobook version for less £

7. I’ve been watching some older, public domain films that are either silent or from the 40-60s. It’s a good way to test your attention span and they’re free to watch.

8. Went through all my expenses for last month in a spreadsheet to see what I actually spent on different categories

9. Brought home leftovers from a meal out because it would have been thrown away otherwise

10. Kept plastic cartons from grapes as storage for my cupboards - they work well and they’re not seen anyway

I’m Mia and I’m rewriting what frugal looks like. It doesn’t have to be penny pinching. Comment ‘newsletter’ if you want more tips like this for free every week💌

Women! need! to! talk! about! money! more! So if you feel like you’re not quite there yet when it comes to financial literacy comment “money” and I’ll send you this week’s episode.

Mia McGrath set herself a challenge in her early twenties, to build as much wealth as possible for her 30s. By 23 she had £50k in savings and since then, she’s built an investment portfolio worth over £200k.

What I found so interesting about Mia isn’t just the numbers, it’s how radically transparent she’s been about the journey. She talks openly about the mistakes, the things she’d never do again, the habits that made the biggest difference, and the mindset shifts that helped her stop waiting for financial freedom and actually start building it.

We also got into investing for beginners, the biggest money leaks she sees people making, passive income, spending habits, and why she believes that if you want your life to change, at some point you have to stop waiting passively for it to happen to you.

She also opened up about her experience as someone who was bought up adopted, and the impact that had on her money journey.

I really hope you enjoy this episode 🤍
