With deep gratitude to God, I’m alive. After the birth of our babies and after one of them spent time in intensive care, we returned home. Days later, my husband rushed me to the emergency room—my blood pressure reached 215. They spent nearly six hours trying to stabilize me. The diagnosis was preeclampsia. During this month and a half, I returned to the emergency room twice.
That first night, in those 6 hours, I was between life and death. I had a spiritual experience in which I was shown what would happen if I stayed or if I parted. And in that space—one I cannot fully explain—I prayed. I know that God and the Rosary saved me. My husband was holding my hand, and Jesus was holding my heart …
and like that, God gave me the opportunity to remain here, and then my blood pressure started to finally stabilize.
I am deeply grateful to God, to my husband, our two daughters,my parents, his mother, my sister and brothers, family and friends, to all the doctors and nurses, and to @drgerardobarroso guiding the paramedics in the ER by phone. All of them & their prayers were the strength that carried me through.
God and the Rosary saved my life. For that, I give eternal thanks.
Con profunda gratitud a Dios estoy viva. Después del nacimiento de nuestras bebés y de que una pequeña estuviera en cuidados intensivos, regresamos a casa. Días después, mi esposo me llevó de urgencia a la sala de emergencias: mi presión arterial llegó a 215. Estuvieron casi 6 horas intentando estabilizarme. El diagnóstico: preeclampsia. En este mes y medio volví dos veces a emergencias.
Esa primera noche, en esas seis horas, estuve entre la vida y la muerte. Viví una experiencia espiritual en donde se me mostró qué ocurriría si me quedaba o partía. Y en ese espacio, recé. Y sé que Dios y El rosario me salvaron. Mi esposo sostenía mi mano y Jesús sostenía mi corazón.
Dios me dio la oportunidad de seguir aquí. Y entonces mi presión se empezó a estabilizar
Gracias a mi esposo, nuestros papás, nuestra familia y amigos fueron mi fuerza para seguir luchando. Gracias @drgerardobarroso y Dr. Gil Franco, y nanny.
Sé que Dios y el Rosario salvaron mi vida y por eso estoy profundamente agradecida.

Martha and one of the babies had some health scares but now are recovering and the babies and mom are all doing better and will share more later what we went through.

We are excited to meet our twin girls very soon! This last week @marthahigareda has been doing AMAZING!

We feel more than excited to share this ! We feel blessed! Our little family of two is expanding to a family of 4! It’s been a long adventure with filled with love and physical challenges but with God’s blessing here we are !!! Thank you all, family, friends and community for your loving support ❤️
Before this ultrasound we did a blood test and it showed my hormone levels so high that the doctor said on a phone call that it was two. Lewis said so certain “that was the vision” So at that moment we exploded in a hug and joy!
Together, last year we did a vision board with twin babies on it, so when we were walking into the clinic Lewis was certain we had two. I wasn’t sure. Cuz we had a scare. But he was so certain, cuz he has faith. In this process he has been so steady and calm in times I’ve been worried or anxious. This wasn’t the first time we heard the news, this was the ultrasound that confirmed it. He invited my mom cuz Lewis values the support mom gives us wives, during the process.
“Our vision” turned into prayer saying may it be your will and not ours but if it pleases you, we’d like to have two at once, and God ever generous granted us our wish!
El año pasado hicimos un cartón de sueños y pusimos una foto de baby twins. El doctor nos habló por teléfono para decirnos que mis niveles hormonales estaban altísimos indicando gemelos. Fue muy emotivo y Lewis le dijo al doctor “esa es la visión” aún así yo no estaba segura porque tuvimos un susto. Pero Lewis si porque tiene mucha fe. Ha estado en calma y fuerte cuando yo he estado preocupada o ansiosa.
Este no fue el primer momento donde supimos, fue por teléfono, este fue el ultrasonido. Lewis me sorprendió, invitó a mi mamá porque valora el apoyo que nuestras mamás nos dan en el proceso. Dios nos concedió el deseo!
Nos sentimos bendecidos ! Nuestra pequeña familia de dos se convierte en una familia de 4 ! Ha sido una larga aventura llena de amor y de retos físicos pero con la bendición de Dios, aquí estamos!! From our freedom and joy we became husband and wife! Love, faith, acceptance, allowance, joy, kindness, growth are only some of the values we bring to our marriage. With God at the center of our union.
Our hearts couldn’t be happier! I’m grateful for all the inner work @lewishowes has done and all the inner work I’ve done and then together. Every step we’ve taken comes from freedom, clarity, peace and congruency and so much love and joy !
If I had only allowed God to choose the man for me rather than me looking and trying to make things work, I probably would have met you sooner. And yet, I’m grateful for your past and our stories before we met. God was only getting us ready for each other.
We needed to become first, before we could become husband and wife!
Desde nuestra libertad y alegría nos hicimos marido y mujer! Amor, fe, aceptación, alegría, amabilidad, curiosidad, crecimiento, son solo algunos de los valores que traemos a nuestro matrimonio. Con Dios al centro de nuestra unión.

Si hubiera dejado que Dios escogiera el hombre para mi en vez de yo buscar y forzar y adaptarme, probablemente te hubiera conocido antes. Y al mismo tiempo estoy tan agradecida por tu pasado, las lecciones que aprendiste y que yo aprendí y nuestras historias antes de conocernos. Dios solo nos estaba preparando para estar juntos.
Necesitábamos primero ser plenamente para poder ser plenamente marido y mujer !

Esto fue nuestro viaje el año pasado ¿Sabías que hasta el 70% de las mujeres desarrollamos miomas y muchas veces ni nos damos cuenta?
Nosotros tampoco lo sabíamos… porque no se habla tanto de eso, hasta que investigamos.
Los miomas son tumores benignos en el útero, pero si no se detectan a tiempo, pueden causar sangrados intensos, dolor… y sí, incluso dificultar el embarazo. Llevábamos tiempo sin cuidarnos y aunque yo soy fértil estos miomas no permitían que hubiera espacio para un bebé dentro del útero. La operación fue complicada porque estaban grandes. Con un tratamiento de detox aryuvedico logramos reducirlos de tamaño a la mitad. Hicimos laparoscopia gracias al @drgerardobarroso fue todo un éxito. Gracias a las enfermeras también!
Así como en la vida hay que abrir espacio para que venga el empleo, espacio en tu vida para la pareja indicada. También espacio para poder tener hijos.
También hice sesiones de bio descodificación que me enseñaron que cada mioma que tenía representaba a un miembro de mi familia del cual yo me sentía responsable. Entonces el Dr. dijo, tu cuerpo no va a darte hijos porque siente que ya los tienes. Tienes que saber que cada miembro de tu familia tiene una vida y que los puedes ayudar pero no son tus hijos. Estas para acompañarlos en esta vida y ellos a ti. Cuando sueltes eso, podrás hacer espacio para tu propia familia y vivir los vínculos con ellos desde el amor. Wow !
Gracias a @lewishowes que estuvo conmigo todo el proceso, en las picos y en los valles, vamos juntos. Te amo! Y a mis papás y mis hermanos que tanto quiero que estuvieron ahí en toda la recuperación. Aprendí que hay que soltar, entregarle todo a Dios y entonces amar desde otro ángulo. Uno más pleno y más libre.
La mayoría de los miomas, no dan síntomas al principio, pero crecen rápido. Por eso, es importante que nos hagamos un chequeo una vez al año. Es un acto de amor propio.
Hazte ese ultrasonido, ese chequeo, ese “por si acaso”.
Porque cuidarte es un acto de consciencia. Y mereces estar bien. Por ti, por tu familia y por la vida que sueñas. No te pongas al último.
