"bless you, change me"
@beggiolafs joins us tomorrow for one of the most demanded topics of the year: how to confidently approach people in public.

Beggie is a psychology expert and has become a leading voice on charisma for hundreds of thousands of followers.

Why is it so scary to approach someone at the gym or at a networking event?

How do you keep a conversation flowing when it starts to die out?

What’s the best way to catch someone’s attention in a crowded room?

We cover it all. And a lot more.

Episode drops on all platforms in 24 hours. See you soon.

Are you too soft?

This week I’m sitting down with @alvaronunez. He’s done what most people would call impossible:

- 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days.
- A 6-day ultra in the Sahara Desert with a 35-pound vest.
- A 3,000-mile bike race across America.
- Ironman and Ultraman World Championships.

But beneath the superhuman résumé is a much deeper story: one of heartbreak, vulnerability, mental health battles, and the raw conversations he had with himself in total darkness.

In this episode of *The Optimist*, we talk about:

- Why doing “impossible” things can’t just be about validation.
- How to channel pain, anger, and heartbreak into fuel.
- The Japanese concept of **Misogi** and why one impossible challenge a year can change your life.
- What it means to be a man today and why listening might be the hardest challenge of all.

Dropping tomorrow 👀

@benjamin.forest.bliss spent 25 years in the Air Force, rose to Lieutenant Colonel, and hit rock bottom.

On Veterans Day, he walked into a hospital and told the nurse, “I want to die.”

That moment changed everything.

He quit his job. He left the military. And in one heroic dose of psilocybin, he found something he never thought he’d feel again…peace.

In this conversation, Ben and I dive deep into psychedelics, masculinity, healing, and the emotional constipation that keeps so many men stuck.

This isn’t a drug story. It’s a story about awakening, and what happens when men finally face themselves.

Now live at our link in bio.

I’ve never begged anyone to listen to an episode of The Optimist. But, I’m going play that card for the first time today.

Please please please take an hour to listen to this one.

Most men walking around today look like men. They have jobs, relationships, and responsibilities…

But emotionally they’re still operating as little boys. And it’s killing their ability to lead, to love, and to hold a safe frame in relationships.

@ryanmoresbywhite is a world-renowned men’s coach and has built up an impressive audience on social media in recent years. We discussed:

- Why modern men never went through the essential rites of passage that turn boys into men

-How this lack of initiation shows up in relationships, careers, and personal integrity

-The subtle ways men outsource their emotional stability to women (without even realizing it)

-The dangerous ripple effects this has on families, children, and the future of our communities

-How to start doing “the work” to reclaim your mature, grounded masculine energy

This is not a soft conversation. This is a wake-up call.

If you’ve been coasting, hiding, or avoiding your own growth, this one is going to sting.

But if you want to build the kind of life, relationship, and legacy you can be proud of… it starts here.

Listen now at the link in bio. Then do something about it.

@michaelchernow spent most of his life searching for a father's love, and it nearly killed him. From childhood abuse and molestation to an 11-year battle with addiction that ended with a heroin overdose and a flatline at 24, Michael's story is one of the most raw and redemptive conversations we've ever had on this show.

Today, he's a serial entrepreneur, CEO of @kreaturesofhabit, a pro bodybuilder, and - the title he's most proud of - a father of two boys.

In this episode, he shares everything: how training saved his life, the love story with his wife Donna, the "13 Things" he tells his sons every night, why kids can no longer safely experiment with drugs, and what he believes it truly means to be a man.

This one hits different.

Most men aren’t depressed. They’re bored, comfortable, and missionless.

@morechrisgriffin built one of the biggest podcasts in the world (@thepocketpodcast) and was nearly canceled for speaking his mind. Instead of backing down, he doubled down. In this brutally honest conversation, we talk about pain, purpose, authenticity, cancel culture, and the epidemic of weak men.

This episode isn’t for the easily offended. It’s for anyone who’s tired of excuses and ready to take radical ownership of their life.

If you’ve been coasting, if you feel stuck, if you’re wondering where your fire went, watch this.

Chris doesn’t hold back. And maybe that’s exactly what we need right now.

Walking into that MMA gym terrified changed everything for me.⁣
⁣
Zero combat skills. Everyone else was a killer. I just said "Hey, I'm Jake. I'm new. Can you teach me?"⁣
⁣
Scary as hell.⁣
⁣
But they couldn't have been more welcoming. I got obsessed - training 2-3 times a day.⁣
⁣
Then I overheard the coaches in a meeting: "People walk in here fucking terrified. You don't know what it's like to be overweight and 29, never fought a day in your life, and ask for help."⁣
⁣
They had a whole system: Remember names. Text after the first week. Offer free massages. Make people feel accepted.⁣
⁣
Why? "We can trust they're in good hands here."⁣
⁣
That's leadership. Making the scary thing feel safe.⁣
⁣
What's your version of that?

Why are so many men stuck, anxious, restless, and disconnected even though their life looks “fine” on paper?

In this episode, I sat down with Tanner Waite aka @beachcowboy_ . I’ve been following his content for years and have been eagerly waiting for the day where I’d get to interview him.

He’s a big-wave surfer, endurance athlete, and creator. We had a raw conversation about fear, comfort, anger, and the moments that actually shape a man.

He nearly drowned at Nazaré (one of the biggest waves in the world) and experienced a full mental breakdown in college (like many of you)…

He shared how chasing comfort almost cost him his sense of purpose, and why voluntarily choosing difficulty changed everything.

This episode covers:
* Why comfort is more dangerous than failure
* How fear, anger, and pressure shape modern men
* What happens when you remove structure after college
* Why most men are afraid of the wrong things
* The difference between pain that breaks you and pain that builds you
* How nature, endurance, and stillness rewire the mind
* Why sunsets became Tanner’s most powerful mental health practice

This isn’t motivation porn. It’s not “grind harder” advice. And it’s definitely not about becoming fearless.

It’s about learning how to meet fear, sit with discomfort, and build a life that actually feels alive.

If you’ve ever felt numb, restless, or stuck in a comfortable life that doesn’t fulfill you, this conversation will hit close to home.

@brooksbash ran 100 marathons in 100 days.

On paper, that sounds like discipline. Grit. Insanity. But what happens after the finish line?

To kickoff Season 2, Brooks and I go way deeper than the miles.

We talk about self-doubt. The quiet pressure men carry. The post-achievement crash no one warns you about. Why purpose matters more than performance. And why doing something extreme doesn’t automatically heal what’s underneath.

This isn’t just about running.

It’s about masculinity, identity, usefulness, and what actually builds a man.

If you’ve ever chased something big hoping it would “fix” you, this one’s for you.
