WE MADE IT!!!

I am not going to lie to you. Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life but one of the most rewarding days ever!! 

The amount of life lessons this trek teaches and the amount of times I got humbled there are not enough numbers to count 😂 I am proud to say that we have successfully made our push to Mt. Everest Base Camp after 8 days, 65km + , and 2,500m + of elevation gain!✅🏔️💪🥾

To think that the people who climb Everest have to go through that entire 8 day trek of pure grit and then to go and actually climb the mountain, is absolutely insane. Truly next level!! 

Once I get back to 🇨🇦 I will be putting together a YouTube series on our journey!!

I have a confession... 

I haven’t been posting. Not because I stopped creating, I just kept waiting for the perfect moment. The perfect edit. The ideal lighting. But perfect doesn’t exist and I’m done letting that hold me back.

So here’s the plan: 
I’m posting every single day for the next 30 days. No excuses. No hiding.

Here’s what you can expect:

🎬 Behind-the-scenes of real client projects from pre-production planning to final delivery. I just wrapped my biggest film yet and I’m taking you inside the entire process.

🏔️ Stories from mountains that pushed me to my limits the raw, unfiltered moments that don’t always make the highlight reel.

📸 Brand work and spec ads I’ve been creating. The kind of short films that tell stories through products, not just showcase them.

💡 Lessons I’ve learned the hard way, about filmmaking, storytelling, and building something from scratch.

Day 01 of EBC Trek - Lukla ➡️ Phakding 🇳🇵🏔️

To start the day off we were not even sure if we were going to make it to Lukla. Our flight was originally scheduled for 6:30am and then it was delayed to 7:30am and then 8:30am and finally we got the call around 9:30am that the weather had cleared in Lukla so we had to jump on the plane to hit that weather window!!

I just wrapped a $10k+ brand film.
Not for a highlight reel. Not $1,000 for “some content” just to fill a feed.

Here’s what most people don’t understand:

Pretty videos don’t command $10k+, Outcomes do.

Any photographer can show up and capture nice shots. But when an organization invests in outcomes and smooth professional experience, they’re not paying for footage. They’re paying for:

Strategy: Understanding what they actually need the film to accomplish (awareness, registration, retention, community) 
Emotional storytelling: Making their audience feel something that drives action 
Business results: Content that moves the needle, not just fills a feed 
A complete content ecosystem: One project that generates months of usable assets

This project wasn’t “film some hockey.” It was:

Create the visual heartbeat of the organization. Build something that inspires families to register. Celebrate the culture. Strengthen the community. Position them as the program that develops character, not just athletes.

A little about me…📸🎥🤙

Hey, my name is Mic and I like to think of myself as an outdoor enthusiast by day
and photographer / filmmaker by night!

All Jokes aside, Whether I’m Traveling, hiking, golfing, skiing, or documenting athletes pushing their limits, I love helping brands and individuals build purpose driven content that reflects the value of your brand.

But what you might not know about me is that I used to be stuck in a 9–5 as an account manager for almost 2 years. Photography and videography were just my creative outlet — a hobby I squeezed into evenings and weekends. But deep down, I knew I didn’t want to live like that forever.

Then in May of 2024, I got let go. And honestly… It turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. It forced me to take a hard look at what I actually wanted. I had TWO options, 1. go back out there and try to get another “Big Boy” job or 2, go all in on myself… I said screw it and I went all in on myself. 

Fast forward to just about 1 year later! Now I help brands who benefit from content in the outdoors and even individuals launching their own personal brands by crafting content that resonates, helping connect with your customers through powerful, emotion-driven content all DONE FOR YOU!

Working in corporate life did make 2 things very clear to me tho — 1. Clients will only invest in the people they trust! . And 2. There are strategic ways of communicating your story with your customers at each stage of your sales funnel.

Then in May of 2024, I got let go. And honestly… It turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. It forced me to take a hard look at what I actually wanted. I had TWO options, 1. go back out there and try to get another “Big Boy” job or 2, go all in on myself… I said screw it and I went all in on myself. 
Fast forward to just about 1 year later! Now I help brands who benefit from content in the outdoors and even individuals launching their own personal brands by crafting content that resonates, helping connect with your customers through powerful, emotion-driven content all DONE FOR YOU! Working in corporate life did make 2 things very clear to me tho — 1. Clients will only invest in the people they trust! . And 2.
