What is it? THE DOODLING METHOD.

The doodling method consists of scribbling with your non-dominant hand while studying or memorizing - it’s a memorization technique that forces your brain to slow down and pay closer attention.

Because that hand feels awkward, your brain has to work harder, which increases focus and reduces mind-wandering. This extra effort creates stronger neural connections linked to what you’re learning.

While doodling, you’re engaging both motor activity and visual processing, which helps encode information more deeply. The doodles don’t need to be artistic or detailed to be effective. What matters is that the movement keeps you mentally present with the material. Your recall is often better than with passive note-taking or reading😌

1. Your GPA starts IN FIRST YEAR. Your first grade will set the tone for all of your years in uni. It’s also usually the easiest years so MAKE IT COUNT.
2. Go to class. Simply showing up consistently puts you ahead of wayyy more people than you’d think.
3. Study consistently > studying A LOT. Reviewing a little after each class beats cramming the night before.
4. Get to know your professors. IM TELLING YOU- office hours can lead to better grades, advice, and future opportunities!!
5. Stop comparing yourself to others. Focus on building study habits that actually work for YOU.
6. Use a calendar from day one. Add every deadline and exam as soon as you get the syllabus. I used Google Calendar
7. Protect your sleep. A well-rested brain learns faster and performs better than an exhausted one 💤
8. Choose your friends wisely. The people around you will influence your motivation and habits!!
9. Use the resources on campus. Tutoring, writing centres, and career services are there to help you succeed plus you’re paying for them so why not?
10. If you can, DO A SEMESTER ABROAD!!
11. Remember why you’re there. Have fun, make memories, but don’t lose sight of your long-term goals!!

Doodling with your non-dominant hand when you’re trying to memorize something is extremely powerful and a hack I’ve been using for years.

A well known study published in the Jounral Applied Cognitizr Psycholgy found that participants who doodle while trying to memorize recal 29% more information than those who didn’t doodle!

It keeps your mind alert and prevents it from wandering when you want to have long-term recall.

Try it out 🫶🏼

What is it? So- the Eisenhower Matrix helps you prioritize any workload by sorting tasks based on what’s urgent and what’s important, so you can stay focused, reduce stress, and use your time wisely.

Urgent and Important (Do Now):
• Tasks with close deadlines
• Problems that need immediate attention

Important but Not Urgent (Schedule):
• Assignments or projects that matter long-term
• Work that benefits from planning and steady progress

Urgent but Not Important (Delegate):
• Tasks that are time-sensitive but don’t require you specifically
• Quick duties that others can handle just as well

Not Urgent and Not Important (Only when everything else is done)
• Low-priority tasks with minimal impact
• Activities that distract from your main goals

In my opinion, this is what you should have/get based on your uni degree and here’s why:

iPad Air: lots of reading, note-taking, presentations, and everyday coursework.

iPad Pro: for handwritten notes, diagrams, annotation, and creative work.

MacBook Air: For all the research, writing, multitasking, and all-day portability.

MacBook Pro: Great for coding, rendering, editing, simulations, and demanding software

Don’t forget that Apple has back to school offers so take advantage of that!!🤍🎧

Research from Stanford University and University of Illinois shows that light walking can improve recall by around 10–15% compared to sitting.

A slow, steady pace increases blood flow and oxygen to your brain, activating the hippocampus (your memory center) and keeping you alert without overwhelming you.

So if you’re memorizing something important, try reviewing it on a calm walk. It genuinely helps🫶🏼 #memorization #hack
