Boys trip with @IkonPass for the history books. This one was ICONIC. Packed up the car in Boulder and headed straight into the Rockies—camping in the snow, waking up and then driving over to @arapahoebasin to ski all day. A-Basin has that raw, alpine feel—steep lines, big terrain, and some of my favorite above-the-tree-line skiing anywhere. And yeah… Simon came along for the whole thing too. Of course he’s one of the boys too! Simon posted up at the base, watching it all go down like he owns the place. What makes the Ikon Pass so fun—you’re not locked into one mountain. You can just pack up, move, and keep the trip going. Boys trip with @IkonPass for the history books. This one was ICONIC. Packed up the car in Boulder and headed straight into the Rockies—camping in the snow, waking up and then driving over to @arapahoebasin to ski all day. A-Basin has that raw, alpine feel—steep lines, big terrain, and some of my favorite above-the-tree-line skiing anywhere. And yeah… Simon came along for the whole thing too. “Let’s go to Japan,” I said to Doug jokingly. We had two weeks planned to ski the Rockies, but the snow wasn’t what we expected this season. I was kidding — he wasn’t. Next thing I knew Doug was packing for Japan. We booked flights that night and left two days later. Was the powder iconic? Yes. Did we eat sushi and soak in hot springs every day? Yes. Will we get Ikon Passes again and use them to ski in Japan? Absolutely. Our Ikon Passes weren’t just lift tickets, they were the catalyst for this family adventure and saved our family about $1,100. This was my 3rd trip to Japan: once with my sister, once with an 8-mo-old, and now with a 6 and 9 year old. Here’s what I’ve learned about skiing in Japan ⬇️ ✈️ Where we flew We flew into Tokyo on the main island of Honshu, then drove to Nagano. Doug and I had been to Hokkaido twice, so we explored somewhere new. 🇯🇵 Where we skied Shiga Kogen & Myoko Kogen 📍 How we chose We wanted off-the-beaten-path powder, laid-back local vibes, steep terrain for us and Elliot, groomers for Emi, and a mix of ski-in/ski-out + a town experience. There are 9 Ikon Pass destinations in Japan (28 resorts), and these two are newer additions. 🚠 Resorts we skied @yakebiski_official + @okushigakogen_ski_area (Shiga Kogen) Steeps + family terrain, ski-in/ski-out, iconic powder. Part of a 19-resort area on Ikon Pass called @shigakogen.jpn @suginohara_official (Myoko Kogen) Quiet crowds, expansive terrain, easy family flow. @lottearairesort (Myoko Kogen) Powder galore, big vertical, minimal crowds. 🚊 Getting around Fly into Tokyo. Send your bags ahead with Black Cat luggage service, then take the train to a regional hub (ours was Nagano) and rent an AWD car. Easy and stress-free. 🗣️ Tips Onsens (hot springs) are part of everyday life — stay somewhere with one. 7-11 and Lawson are the best spots for quick fresh sushi before skiing. Visit teamLab in Tokyo — an immersive art experience you won’t forget. ⛷️ The @ikonpass links 70+ destinations worldwide. It’s opened the door to adventures we might never have planned — from powder days to hot springs, cafés, and mountain towns far beyond the chairlifts. #skifamily #ikonpass #ad

 Good thing I grew up in Canada and basically came out of the womb on skis.
 We bought an @ikonpass so we could ski as much as we wanted and headed to @aspensnowmass for our very first trip together. 

Since then, the mountains have given us some of our best memories - and now we can’t wait to see baby Violet shred on tiny skis.
 Every year, getting an @ikonpass is a must so we commit to making time for experiences that matter. We always lock it in early because it guarantees a great winter (and saves a ton of $$).
