strava or it didn’t happen…

Nothing better than slapping a long run then cracking a cold one after tbh.

A recent 50km weekend long run with the boys. Seems like every weekends been turning into an ultra recently lol but I ain’t complaining.

corner store vibes unmatched 😮‍💨

NYC Marathon 2025- so nice we had to do it twice….

Started at 1am for the first marathon running the route in reverse.

Then paced Dee for her first ever marathon and she killed it and went sub 5- so proud.

Man that was fun, I love NYC. Time for pizza.

Huge thanks to @movember for the chance to run NYC- you can donate to my fundraiser using the link in my bio.

sorry, I was busy…

ripping miles and cranking nuggets in the desert.

Just to be clear, I did NOT run 100km+ at that pace in one go looool. This was over 2 days and as part of The Speed Project- a relay race of 540km from LA to Las Vegas. This is was just my personal splits and moving time across the event. It was mostly split into 1km repeats throughout the team with rest periods split up too.

Total distance ran by the team was 541km in 38 hours 51 minutes.

huge W for the books…

Putting a diamond on a diamond. I wouldn’t be half the man I am without the whole woman she is. Insanely lucky to have the most supportive, caring, loving and beautiful woman by my side everyday.

One of a kind partner, soon to be wife. How sick x

ultra running is basically an eating contest, right?

152km in with a couple hundred kms left to go, running from Montenegro to Split, Croatia. Trying my best to regain the calories I’m burning as I still have a few days left on the road. Eating roughly 7000-8000 calories. I reckon this sandwich was an easy 2000, 2 full packs of cheese, 2 full packs of meat, half a tub of garlic mayo and gherkins to top it off- can’t beat it tbh…

its a universal language...

No matter where you are and how unfamiliar things feel- running is always consistent. It will always bring you back to that calm and familiar state of being. It’s a feeling that can be tapped into anywhere in the world.

This year I have travelled a lot and life has been pretty hectic. But running has been my home away from my home. It’s my comfort.

I travelled to Tokyo twice this year and the city and it’s culture there always gives me a new sense of energy. It gives me little gems that I can take back home with me and into my own envrionment.

The last time I visited the gems I took home were from the @asicsrunning Tokyo collection. The MEGABLAST and SONICBLAST have both joined my rotation of daily shoes. Giving me comfort not just to take things easy, but to also push myself too. Both trainers are now my go to’s.

yeah not my usual video but yesterday was crazy…

Not something I would usually post but I actually thought it was a worthwhile message for others. I hear so much of phone snatching and people getting robbed and threatened but I didn’t really expect it to happen to me. Hopefully this video can help someone not go through the same situation. I am totally fine by the way.

(Hold down the video and play on 2x because it’s quite long)

But yeah I was robbed, had my phone stolen and threatened/hit in the process. Main takeaways from the situation (which probably lasted less than 2 minutes but felt a lot longer):

As crazy as it is, London just isn’t a place you have your phone out on the streets so freely

Headphones being too loud and noise cancelling at the same time isn’t the best combination if you are on your phone

Protect everything with 2FA- my bank, social accounts, crypto wallets etc were all exposed because the phone was unlocked

Don’t bother fighting back- it was stupid of me too and just resulted in making the situation worse. Spent the day so angry that I had been violated but at the end of the day your life is worth more than a replaceable object. I just hated having something taken from me and that’s what bothered me the most. But weapons are weapons and its too risky to bother, I learnt that the hard way.

Dr. Martens are awful to run in- was a painful mile back to my house so I could block my phone lol

Thank you to @apple for replacing my phone. I could feel unlucky that this happened or lucky that i’m fortunate enough to get a replacement that quickly.

If you whatsapped me yesterday, I might have missed it as my messages haven’t synced properly

Anyway, stay safe my city people xxx

running the NYC Marathon twice in one day…

Has so much fun doing this- here’s the full breakdown and video of the two marathons.

Marathon 1 we started at 1:15am running the marathon course in reverse with @mo.abdinn and special shoutout to @kaif.rzk who cycled the whole thing (citibike invoice was crazy)

I then paced my fiancé for her first ever marathon which she smashed. Ran it in sub 5. Had so much fun on that course, NYC is a special one. Not racing and being able to stop, have interactions with the crowd and friends was seriously special to me. Serious grit from all the runners and congrats to all the finishers.

Shoutout to the guy who gave me pizza- I needed that slice lol and big love to everyone who comes and cheers, it’s an insanely special day.

Next year probably got enough time to get a third marathon done whilst waiting in the marathon village 😅

the secret to running more miles?

become a full time multitasker and a part time barista.

AD Alright this is an exciting competition in partnership with @delonghiuk where you can win one of their La Specialista coffee machines for your own home.

All you need to do to enter is comment how long you think it took me to run the 5km whilst ticking off my to do list and make myself a flat white coffee (comment minutes and seconds to be more accurate). The time started from when I left the front door, to the minute my coffee was ready.

The first guess, to the nearest second, or the closest guess after 7 days will be declared the winner. Winner will be announced on the14th November at @delonghiUK

Full T&Cs available at @delonghiuk

Good luck 🫡

what the last 1km of Tokyo Marathon looked like…

Clocking in at 2:57- this was the most comfortable marathon i’ve ever ran. Coming of the back of a 400km feat in December, spending Jan recovering from my Achilles injury and only really having a 4 week training window for this race- I went into the race a little conservative but confident. The aim was to just hit a sub 3 and see where I’m at for London Marathon.

Averaging 155 bpm, with my heart rate actually decreasing during the second half (and spending the majority of my time in zone 2 and tempo) indicates that there’s for sure more to give for the marathon distance.

I did think about speeding up at the 30km mark but I played it safe as it was a hot day (hottest race on record for Tokyo Marathon) and just decided to get the job done. Even though it was a PB, I haven’t really raced many marathons and spent most of last year focussing on long slow miles. So, I’m excited to see where I can take my time in the marathon with a full send and full training block.

What I did take seriously this time was my carb load. I also actively gained a couple kg of body weight for this race as I was feeling a little too lean prior and low on energy at times. I had a gel every 20 minutes which I have never done before, I also had electrolytes throughout the run (around 2000mg) and I didn’t check my HR during the race once and tried to do most of it from feel. I also really focussed on nailing some long runs at race pace prior.

Crossing the finishing line feeling strong and ready to keep moving was a great feeling and being able to up the speed in the final km.

Felt great to tick this time off the to do list and the next marathon I look forward to putting it all out there and seeing what’s possible for me when we really get in the discomfort.

Next time the finish line shouldn’t look so comfortable…

A huge thank you to my bro @moabdinfit for pacing me every km of the way and taking the pressure of pacing and fuelling.

Success is never guaranteed or owed to you…

But effort certainly invites it. See you can never control the outcome in life, but you can always control your input. You can control how hard you work, you can control if you stick to the plan and you can control making sure you show up when you said you would.

And at the end of the day that’s what truly matters and that’s what truly defines you. That’s the mindset i’m keeping throughout this marathon block for Seville- maximising my input, giving it my all every session so that when I show up to the start line, I know that the outcome is in my favour. I know that no matter what, the best possible result is guaranteed, because I gave my best.

That’s why I love running, because these mindset shifts and lessons don’t apply to just running, they are life changing when applied to the rest of your life.

Today’s session:

5km warm up
6km target marathon pace
5km float
6km target marathon pace
5km cool down

6 seconds ahead per km on each marathon pace effort and session felt nice despite a busy week and low recovery due to some mid week food poisoning lol

Another successful step towards race day. Onwards we go.

London Marathon 2025…

2:57:25

Went out with no expectations today, no watch on the wrist and just moved off of feel. Was a hot day and the knee was feeling awful after half way to be honest, but another sub 3 in the bag so I’m happy with that. A one second PB too so I’ll take that hahaha

I’ll be paying the price for this one I think for a few weeks. Probably wernt the best move to go out and hit the gas after a few weeks of knee pain. But we move, if given the chance- I’d do it again.

Didn’t plan on pushing it today but as soon as that gun went off at the start line, on home turf, in the city that shaped me in this game, it felt rude not to give back pure grit to the streets of London.

Time to fix this knee now and go again. Coming for the 2:40’s.

Berlin Marathon 2025 - 2:57:54

Third world major this year, third sub 3. The conditions today were hot and unforgiving, just how we like it. But we gave it a crack anyway and I’m happy with the result. After a year of basically no speed or marathon distance training, I’m pretty happy with where I am consistently at.

42.2km is a distance that I really respect and I look forward to devoting the next 16 weeks to seeing what I can achieve with a dedicated block.

Congrats to all the runners today- thank you Berlin 🖤

A huge thanks to @westin @westingrandberlin for the opportunity to run 🙏🏽

How I finished up 350km across 4 days…

Last week I ran 350km across the Adriatic Coast of Montenegro, Bosnia & Croatia, finishing in Split. This was the end of day 4 which was a 123km run. The days were split into the following:

Day 1: 78km
Day 2: 75km
Day 3: 75km
Day 4: 123km

I gave myself 5 days to do this but day 4 was feeling so good we just kept rolling until the end.

This is defo the freshest and strongest I’ve felt during and at the end of an ultra which I’m super happy about. I honestly put it down to proper fuelling (100g carbs per hour and 1250mg sodium), proper rest and time on feet. I’ve ran a lot this year and the miles have paid off.

The energy was so good the whole run, nothing but laughs with the guys and enjoying the views. Can’t wait to keep working and take the confidence from this adventure into something more serious I got my eyes on…

192km in 23 hours 29 mins and a 1st place finish…

Went out and done exactly what I said I would this weekend. By far one of the hardest runs I’ve ever done though. The heat had me in a head lock from lap 1, but tapping out was never an option.

To be honest I nearly called it quits at lap 15- was feeling cooked and got told I had to chase the lead down who was a lap and a half ahead. But chose to not waste all the training and the 14 hours I’d already ran- locked in and got the job done. Ended up running the course record instead which was a nice surprise.

Thank you to HARP24 team for such a sick event and once again thank you to my unreal crew @dmytromoyseyev @kaif.rzk @nacaite @mo.abdinn who selflessly support me on every endeavour.

Anyway, dogs back off the leash- onto the next mission.

success when others are watching..

comes from disclipine when no one’s watching.

But to be honest who cares either way? Who cares who is watching. These goals we chase, the purpose we seek and the hard work we endure isn’t to prove anything to anyone, but ourselves.

It’s been a busy year for me so far, honestly my life has completely changed. Works never been busier and sessions have never been harder. After completing and competing back to back the first half of 2025, I had a couple weeks to just decompress and deload.

But please believe me when I say what’s next in my journey is like nothing I’ve attempted before. It requires a new version of me.

I’m on week 2 out of 6 of a weight cut phase; energy is lower, trainings tougher but it’s part of the build. Miles are staying pretty high and I’m lifting as much as possible to build back some strength.

After that, we are getting stuck into the toughest block yet and my eyes won’t be on the end target… they will be on each and every session. Because that’s where all the magic happens. In the prep and in the build. I’m working on two goals/projects. One will take me faster than I’ve ever been before and one will take me further than ever been before.

Both goals are nerve-wracking, but that’s the whole point right?

surprise 5km PB this morning…

5km: 17:42, I’ll take it.

Supposed to be tapering down for my 24 hour race next week but the new asics metaspeeds tokyos came in the post yesterday and I couldn’t help but want to give them a little rip around the park lol. Went out and joined Mo & OB this morning with no expectations but thought I’d see where my 5km is at- off the back of literally 98% zone 1 and zone 2 work for the last 12 weeks.

Pleasantly surprised with where my pace was at after having already ran 130km on the legs this week. Defo had some more left to give to that 5km distance and finished feeling strong to be honest. Not really a distance I’ve ever focussed on but looking forward to pushing it once I get back into a speed block. 16 min 5km is on the horizon this year I think…

btw- these shoes are sick. Never felt anything so light, crazy.

Word to my bro @mo.abdinn for cruising it with me as always. Forever grateful to have someone I can chase who pushes me to be the best I can.

Okay- I’ll start tapering now (sorry coach)

surprise 5km PB this morning… 5km: 17:42, I’ll take it.
