Can you guess how many letters this is? The Sky Ladder in Zhangjiajie is basically a giant set of stairs built into the side of the mountain… and when you look up, it just keeps going 😳 You’re climbing hundreds of steps up the cliff face with nothing but the mountain around you, and the higher you get, the more insane the views become. The water looked like it had been edited, the tiny tropical islands felt untouched, and every boat ride looked like something straight out of a postcard. It honestly reminded me of the Maldives, but with a completely different adventure feel. Whether you’re snorkelling over vibrant coral reefs, relaxing on powdery white sand beaches or island hopping between some of the most beautiful islands in Borneo, this is one place that deserves a spot on your bucket list. Every stop somehow seemed even more beautiful than the last. 📍Don’t miss: • Bohey Dulang (one of the best viewpoints in Malaysia) • Mantabuan Island • Sibuan Island • Mataking Island • Timba-Timba Island • Tun Sakaran Marine Park 💡Top Tip: Spend at least 3 days in Semporna so you can do a few different island-hopping tours. Can’t believe this place actually exists… 😱 📌 Save this incredibly unique town for your New Zealand bucket list 🇳🇿 This is Napier, located in the North Island Hawke’s Bay region. This coastal town experienced a massive earthquake in 1931 causing the whole town to remarkably rebuild in the Art Deco era of the time. Walking around the town is incredible to see the architecture and how they’ve embraced the era with old school cars, signage and they even have an Annual Art Deco Festival every February to celebrate its heritage, where the whole town dresses up and celebrates. 📍📍HERE📍📍 Follow @brittandmitchworldwide for more hidden gems around China 🇨🇳✨ We somehow got one of the busiest attractions in Zhangjiajie ALL TO OURSELVES 😳 The Bailong Elevator is usually packed with people waiting to ride this glass elevator 326 metres straight up the side of a cliff… but we went right at the end of the day and there was barely anyone around! It meant we could actually enjoy the ride without being squashed in with hundreds of other people, and honestly, going up the side of the mountain with these insane views opening up around you was pretty surreal. ⛰️ 📍 Bailong Elevator, Zhangjiajie, China 🇨🇳 The elevator takes just around 1½ minutes to reach the top, making it one of the quickest and craziest ways to get into the Zhangjiajie mountains. Our biggest tip? Go towards the end of the day! 🌅 We can’t guarantee you’ll get it completely to yourself, but it was SO much quieter for us than what we had seen earlier in the day. And honestly, even knowing it’s “fake” doesn’t make it any less impressive. The level of detail is INSANE. Traditional-style buildings are built into the cliffs, there are waterfalls, bridges, winding little streets, temples, shops and hundreds of lanterns that light the whole valley up after dark. ✨ We stayed for 2 nights nearby, but you could easily do this as a 1-night stay. We’d recommend arriving with enough time to explore during the day and then staying until sunset because the entire place completely transforms once the lights come on. 🎟️ Entry: around ¥140 per adult ⏰ Opening: roughly 9:30am–11pm 🚄 Getting there: Take a high-speed train to Shangrao, then it’s around 1 hour by shuttle, taxi or DiDi to Wangxian Valley. The scenic shuttle is around ¥30 each way. (Travel China Guide) And yes, it’s touristy, but we honestly think it’s 100% worth seeing. The combination of the huge cliffs, architecture and night lights makes it one of those places that looks even crazier in person. 📍 Wangxian Valley, Shangrao, Jiangxi 🇨🇳 Would you visit somewhere knowing it was recreated rather than genuinely ancient? 👀
