The Life of a Showgirl that was Fired… I can’t believe it’s been 5 years! I’m so grateful for the life that I have now, but I worked REALLY HARD to get here. 🙏

Story time:
After I was fired I turned down two other TV news jobs to make my own dream come true. To support myself financially, I took a part-time job at Pure Glow on Newbury Street and gave spray tans while creating as many Reels as I could handle. I don’t talk about that period of my life publicly but it was a wild year and a half. I was up late, I was up early, I was grinding!! 💪 I used content I had previously captured and content from new adventures to inspire travel in New England. I was living off a small paycheck, tips, and my savings. I was building my very own one-woman production company with Instagram as the outlet. 🎥

At the beginning of 2023, I was able to leave my part-time spray tan job and create content highlighting the beauty of New England full time. 🍁 And yes, it has been stressful at times, I’ve made many mistakes, and I still cry during tax season, but I’m getting better and learning so much. I have made my dreams come true. 💫 😭 I don’t have to request vacation time 6 months in advance, I don’t have to wake up at 3am and I don’t have to straighten my hair and cake on makeup every day for the news. I do feel like I work 10X more now but it’s SO MUCH MORE FUN and it’s for ME and not for another man’s business. 🙌

THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES I HAVE EVER COLLABORATED WITH, you have helped to make my dreams come true. 💞 THANK YOU TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY who never doubted my wild idea of making content creation a realistic way to financially support myself and my cat Mozzarella. 🐱💕 Thank you to her, too, for sitting on my lap while I edit many videos (she is literally on my lap right now as I write this). THANK YOU TO THIS COMMUNITY!!!! I truly hope you are inspired to have fun in our own backyard and in other regions an airplane ride away. ✈️ I hope to make you smile, play and adventure. ❤️ Thank you for loving my own little travel TV show.

Most importantly, thank you to Adam Sandler, the station that fired me, AND MYSELF. 🫳🎤

The most magical garden I’ve ever seen…

Most people drive through Little Compton without realizing that a world-class botanical masterpiece is hidden behind some high hedges.

📍 Sakonnet Garden | Little Compton, Rhode Island
🎟️ IMPORTANT: This is a private test garden and is RESERVATION ONLY during select open days. You can’t just walk in!

Sakonnet Garden is a 35-year old garden-lab designed by two of the industry’s best:

✨ John Gwynne: A world-renowned Landscape Architect and the former VP of Design for the Bronx Zoo (Wildlife Conservation Society).
✨ Mikel Folcarelli: A premier brand identity and store design consultant.

Together, and with a team, they’ve built beautiful outdoor rooms for you to get lost in among some very interesting plants. It’s an intimate experience that feels like you’re stepping into a designer’s vivid imagination.

I was fired in 2020. I took a part time job to pay the bills while also creating informative and fun videos sharing places I love in New England and beyond. I was working nonstop to make this dream a reality. Five years later I was named as a top influencer in two different (local) magazines 😭 I am so grateful for the journey and for this platform.

If you love exploring I’d love for you to join this community! I provide itineraries and inspiration all throughout New England and beyond. The world is meant to be enjoyed! Thank you for being here!! 🙏✨💖

How to get there ⬇️🐰🐨🐅🐙🐘

The 3 sculptures are in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood and if you’re near the USS Constitution you are at a good starting point. @navyyardgarden

“The Wild Table of Love” (in the video) can be found on “Lowney Way” at the corner of Fifth Street underneath the Tobin Bridge (if you were to keep going into the neighborhood here you would end up at Bunker Hill Monument.

“The Arms of Friendship” (the one with the big octopus) is next to the USS Constitution, you should see it immediately, it’s so big.

“The Hippo Was Hungry to Try New Things” can be found down the dock way past The Anchor. Get Lunch at @dovetailcharlestown afterward or drinks at @theanchorboston.

Bring your own tea!

☀️🌊Just over 1 hour north of Boston! The coastal town of York, Maine is super cute. Here’s what we did in 24 hours!

🥾 Wiggly Bridge + Fishermans Walk: you’ll park on the road and find the trail to get your steps in

🍹 @lulusmaine: go here for dinner and don’t skip dessert!

🏖️ Long Sands Beach: or short sands beach!

💡 Nubble Lighthouse: you can go in it but it’s an iconic view worthy of your camera roll

🦞 Fox’s Lobster Roll: in the same parking lot as the lighthouse is your go to lunch location with very good lobster rolls

🛍️ Antiques or Outlets: there are many antique stores in Maine but you’ll also be super close to @kitteryoutlets

🍬 Explore the cute town: (shops, taffy and other snacks, arcade)

When I see someone else wearing the 2018 Boston Marathon jacket, I immediately feel connected to them. Sometimes there’s an exchange of words and sometimes there’s just a nod, but I know we’re both having flashbacks to that freezing monsoon.

I’m so curious: did you keep running marathons after that year? Because I retired my long runs that day. 😅

But what I love most about Boston is that even in a torrential downpour, the city still shows up. If you were on the sidelines in 2018, thank you forever. Without that energy, I really think I would have given up right before Wellesley. It was the college girls that gave me another spark (and a huge trash bag, turned poncho, from the medical tent).

If you’re running Boston this year: HAVE SO MUCH FUN! And thank you to everyone fundraising, this race is a remarkable one. I can’t wait to cheer and ugly cry for all of you.

Also, please enjoy that perfect running weather you lucky little b*tches. 😹

Big Views! Short(er) hike in the NH! 🏔️

If you’re looking for an AMAZING payoff without committing to a full-day 4000-footer you must add the Sugarloaf Trail to your list with two summits (but both with similar views): Middle Sugarloaf and North Sugarloaf.

⬇️ The details ⬇️

🗺️ Trail Name: Sugarloaf Trail (Out-and-Back)
📏 Distance: About 3.5 miles roundtrip
📈 Elevation Gain: Around 1,060 ft
📍 Location: Sugarloaf trailhead is off Zealand Road which is off RT 302 (also known as Crawford Notch Road)
⚠️ Difficulty: Moderate. Starts easy by the Zealand River, but the final ascent to the saddle is steep, and the final push to Middle Sugarloaf includes a short, ladder-like staircase.
🅿️ Parking: Limited and this hike is very popular, especially on weekends.
🤩 Summit Tips: We went to North Sugarloaf first, then hit Middle Sugarloaf last for the big reveal. The wide, open ledges on Middle Sugarloaf are where you’ll find those breathtaking panoramic views of the entire White Mountain range, including the snow-covered Mount Washington when we summited.

So many greats resting in one place. 🧡

Have you been to Sleepy Hollow Cemetary in Concord? There is so much history in this Massachusetts town 40 minutes west of Boston. It’s considered the birthplace of the nation and was home to famous authors who lived and wrote during the same time in Concord.

There’s a small parking lot inside the cemetery, you’ll have to walk the rest of the way to Authors Ridge. It won’t take that long so plan to tour the authors homes before or after and definitely check out the town!

The “Sentier glacé” in Magog, Quebec (in the Eastern Townships region in Canada) was so much fun. The Logistics:
📍 Where: Magog, Quebec - search for “Sentier glacé Magog”
🚗 Parking: Free parking is available at Pointe Merry and Cabana lots.
⛸️ Rentals: If you don’t have your own, head to “Vie de Plein Air” in English it’s called Life Outdoors (@viedepleinair) a small building right next to the trail. Rentals start around $10 USD (10am - 4pm on weekends).
💡 The trail is illuminated at night!
💰 Cost: FREE
🔥 Amenities: There are heated huts to lace up your skates and fire pits to warm up.

How long have you waited for a 🦞roll? We went to @woodmans_of_essex around 4pm and when we walked out the line was bananas!!

I haven’t tried all the lobster rolls in New England, but I’ve tried a lot and this one is always perfect.

Woodman’s has been serving seafood since 1914, they claim to have invented the fried clam, their lobster roll is all real and you choose your butter level when you sit so your bun doesn’t get soggy! Is it worth the line? Honestly ya.

📍 Find it in charming Essex, Massachusetts near the rivers that lead out to the ocean.

Correction: *New England has the hardest hikes. 🥾 Here are my favorite 👇

(But don’t let this scare you, there are some more moderate and easier hikes in NH too, I’ll share some soon!)

(NH) Wildcat Ridge Trail: this trail is said to be the hardest part of the Appalacian Trail! It honestly wasn’t that bad. I would not want to descend this trail in rain it was so rocky.

(NH) Boot Spur up and down to Tuckerman’s Ravine: VERY ROCKY! You can take the Lion Head Trail via the Davis Path down to Tuckerman’s.

(NH) Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail: We took this trail up to the Lakes of the Clouds hut just below Mount Washington. It was short but the elevation gain kicked out butt.

(ME) Precipice Trail, Acadia National Park: This is Acadia’s most dangerous and challenging hike. It climbs a vertical cliff and you’ll use iron rungs and ladders to get up so you’re very exposed.

(ME) Mount Katahdin’s Knife Edge: We hiked up the Hunt Trail, saw Knifes Edge and turned around. Absolutely no for me. It’s a 1.1-mile ridge trail with serrated granite and steep drop-offs on both sides. NOPE.

(VT) Sterling Pond: Another short trail with massive elevation gain - great reward.

(VT) Haselton Trail: SO STEEP (steep is the main theme here). We took the Cliff Trail down to the Gondola to avoid knee pain on the way down (which was very scary, we scooted on our butts).

Would you do the coaster zipline?! We recently went to @Montreal for some city fun, but on our way back to the states, we stopped in Québec’s Eastern Townships (@cantonsdelest) – a hidden gem for fast fun, relaxation, and delicious food and wine! 🤩 Find this area just north of Vermont in Canada!

Here’s what we loved in and around Sutton, QC:

🚀 Fast thrills: Ziplining at Sutton Mountain was so much fun! They have a traditional fast & steep line AND a wild roller coaster zipline. It’s also a huge spot for bikers. @montsutton

✨ Stargazing: at Diable Vert check out the stars in this super dark zone. The English presentation is on Sundays. @audiablevert

💆‍♀️ Relax: Spa Bolton is a must-do after all the walking in Montréal! You can book a massage inside a little yurt, plunge in the river, or relax in the hammocks and pools. @boltonspa

🍽️ Explore Downtown Sutton: Charming shops, restaurants, cafes and ice cream - it’s so cute. We ate at Microbrasserie À l’Abordage and Sutton Brouërie. @brasseriealabordage & @aubergesuttonbrouerie

🍷 Wine picnic: Tour and picnic at Château Ste-Agnès, there’s no reason to fly to Napa Valley - this spot is so regal. @chateausteagnes

🍕 Pizza and craft brews: La Knowlton Co. is known for their wood-fired pizza, I loved the Québecois lager. @laknowltonco

🛌 Where to Stay: Le Pleasant Hotel is steps from everything in Downtown Sutton. @pleasant.hotel
You’ll love this adventure whether you include Montréal or just head north for nature. Save this post to help plan your next trip! 🇨🇦

Your fav chocolate shop @burdickchocolate starts serving ice cream the weekend of June 20!!!!!!! Follow them for the official announcement. They’ll be serving out of their ✨ Brookline location. ✨

Your fav chocolate shop @burdickchocolate starts serving ice cream the weekend of June 20!!!!!!! Follow them for the official announcement. They’ll be serving out of their ✨ Brookline location. ✨ We felt so lucky to have been invited to their friends and family event recently. 💛 I tried all of the flavors and I do have a favorite. 👀 Here’s the 🍦 line up (which will change with the seasons): 🥂 Moscato Butter 🌰 Hazelnut 🍫 Honey Caramel Truffle (made with Burdick chocolate) 🍊 Apricot Elderflower 🍦+ 💜 Cassis Vanilla (with French blackcurrants) 🍷 Stracciatella (made with white port) It’s made without stabilizers and food coloring. The Christmas Parade of Lights with BOATS! Portland, Maine really knows how to celebrate Coastal Christmas. Thank you @lukeslobster for hosting us for the boat parade. Great seats! Great lobster rolls. 🎄🦞

What do you think?! @cnn considered hundreds of towns and picked only ten to take the top spots. Northampton, Massachusetts was ranked at 8! I loved visiting this town (about 2 hours west of Boston). There are free activities, great boutiques, restaurants and it’s so close to nature adventures.

CNN told me that they evaluated the finalists’ by “attractions, food and beverage offerings, cultural and nightlife scenes, diversity, sense of identity, proximity to other interesting spots and wow factor.”

Curious your thoughts! 👇
