Amethyst felt so relaxed the entire time, she had her snacks, got tons of love from the staff, and even had her photo taken for the wall (Polaroid and all ). The team was seriously the sweetest, they made both of us feel so comfortable and helped me every step of the way as a first-time cat mom.

✨Sedona’s First Black Woman-Owned Wellness Retreat✨
Okay but no… this wasn’t a “cute little Sedona trip.”
This was a full nervous system reset.
I spent 3 days at The Jenesis House in Sedona, founded by Jenesis Laforcarde, a Black and Asian founder who intentionally infused both cultures into the rituals, design, and overall energy of the space. You can feel the intention the second you walk in.
Our retreat included:
-Sunrise yoga with sound healing overlooking the red rocks
-Poolside sound baths
-A grounding bath ritual
-On-site facials + spa treatments
-Pool + hot tub resets
-Nearby hiking trails for that Sedona nature moment
-Unlimited tea room access (the chai? I was in there daily.)
🍽️ All meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner and the chef is genuinely top tier.

I stopped by the RYZE Superfoods Mushroom Coffee Pop-Up - and fun fact: this is the ONLY RYZE pop-up in the entire country, and it’s happening right here in Arizona.

I took my sister to Avia Sim in Phoenix and this is a full-on flight simulator experience where you’re sitting in a super realistic cockpit with a real instructor guiding you the entire time. You actually go through the full process, takeoff, flying, and landing, which sounds fun until you realize how many buttons and controls are involved!
For the Phoenix location, sessions typically start around $100–$150+ per person depending on the experience you choose, and most sessions run about 30–60 minutes. You can also choose different flight routes/locations which makes it even cooler.
I will say… this was SUCH a fun and unique experience and definitely something different to do in Arizona, whether you go with friends, family, or even for a date idea.

I planned a wellness day… and ended up finding one of my new favorite hidden gems in Phoenix. ✨
Sozo Healing House is a Black-owned holistic wellness center that brings everything together in one space and I mean EVERYTHING!
From chiropractic care, sound healing, Reiki, red light therapy, infrared sauna, acupuncture, and hair services… to a non-toxic refillery, a local Black-owned coffee stand, and a boutique featuring local vendors, this place is truly a wellness ecosystem! 👏🏾
I did sound healing, spent time in red light, and saw Dr. Charles for chiropractic work, and left feeling grounded, relaxed, and reset. The energy here is calm, creative, and community-centered, not rushed, not clinical, just intentional.

Jonah and I tried this new puppy yoga spot called @puppiesyogascottsdale that just opened in Scottsdale and I’m not exaggerating when I say I was ready to be a cat AND dog mom in the same 24 hours. The puppies rotate every class (which is actually dangerous because now I’m going to convince myself I need to “just see” the next batch), and the little mini toy goldendoodle I held??? That’s my dream dog. Like spiritually. LOL
You start with a little wellness shot, do your yoga flow while puppies casually climb on you and distract you from your core engagement, and then after class it’s straight cuddles and playtime. It’s giving serotonin. It’s giving dopamine. It’s giving “maybe I am responsible enough for a dog?” (I am not. But I want to be.)😂
