Beautiful fall in Colorado.🍂
My first bull elk is a doozy! Super grateful for the help of a good friend to find and take this bull. He will fill our freezer nicely!👏🏼 😃 took me 6 years of applying to draw a bull tag, and I got him on day 4 of the season. Couldn’t be happier! I’m still in shock, tbh.

We are experiencing winds of 80-109 mph in southern Wyoming. Semis blown over, trees wrenched out of the ground, roofs whipped away, and dust storms where the snow is gone. Out here in the mountains we have blowing snow. #Winter #Wyoming #out west #307life #windy

Wyoming is my favorite state, and I’ve lived in Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, Maryland, West Virginia, and Florida. I’ve traveled through most of the remaining states, as well as shorter stints working in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Tennessee, Washington, and Utah. In 2004, I visited my sister who lived in Cheyenne, and told myself that Wyoming was one place I never wanted to live!! I could NEVER get used to the wind! I think God has a sense of humor! 😆3 years later, we rolled into Laramie with all our earthly belongings stuffed into a horse trailer. …18 years later we’re still here and I regret nothing. 😂

I went on my first turkey hunt this week. My husband and I went in the Black Hills, and while we saw lots of turkeys, none would come in to our calls. It was quite cold at night, but we had a little stove in our tent, which made mornings easier!😁 My husband enjoys 1700’s frontiersmen style, and he went in period gear, at least part of the time. I stayed modern.😄

I went on my first turkey hunt this week. My husband and I went in the Black Hills, and while we saw lots of turkeys, none would come in to our calls. It was quite cold at night, but we had a little stove in our tent, which made mornings easier!😁 My husband enjoys 1700’s frontiersmen style, and he went in period gear, at least part of the time. I stayed modern.😄
So many grieving and lonely this season; makes me grateful for each face around our table this year. 💗 #leofamily #merrychristmas

The sunsets have been amazing lately, and if I don’t see it, one of my kids will run to tell me to come to the window and look. ☺️ This particular evening I was running an errand for a neighbor and only had my phone with me. But I took time to park the truck, walk down by the creek and just sit on the bank awhile to soak in the glorious spring evening. 🙌🏼 This photo + edits was a collaboration between myself and the legendary Gary Brinton. 😁

My husband and I went turkey hunting for the past 3 days. We camped in our tent, and yes it’s chilly in WY in April! 32° in the morning… the country was rough and steep, but also beautiful. 🤩 Yesterday morning I was lucky enough to find a tom still roosted, so I sat and waited till he flew down. He landed about 40 yards away and I was able to get a good shot in. My first ever time to take a turkey! We went last year too but didn’t have any success.
