[ad] I’ve been thinking a lot about how we start the day recently and how a few intentional choices can completely shift your energy. Sometimes that looks calm and grounded and sometimes it looks like voluntarily sticking your face in a bowl of ice water and then letting your partner throw you around the living room for a viral trend. Balance. Cold exposure, proper hydration, doing something mildly uncomfortable before the day properly begins, it all adds up. You feel awake, clear-headed, and strangely proud of yourself for surviving it. One thing I’ve become much more conscious of is hydrating first thing. Most of us wake up already dehydrated, and starting the day with electrolytes makes a difference to how I feel and function. Hydration Booster by Gatorade has become part of that routine. Smiling because the world didn’t end when: - I got suspended from boarding school - I had to have emergency surgery that left me with a stoma bag - I cried multiple times on national television - I had a miscarriage during my first pregnancy which ruined my subsequent one - I pulled out of a 6 figure job because of anxiety - I put on weight on life saving medication - my parents got divorced when I was 11 - I was cheated on in my first 4 serious relationships - I lost 12L of blood in 12 months, more than 2 times my body mass - I had to liquidate my activewear business Basically the message I’m trying to tell you is - there is NO SUCH THING AS FAILURE! #failure #personalgrowth #selfhelp #SelfImprovement #ptsd

This is dedicated to all those who didn’t survive and those who lost their babies. Thank you to the 30,000 of you who have already signed our petition. This number is significant because it’s also the number of women who develop PTSD following childbirth every year. @theoclarkemp and I believe that we NEED a maternity commissioner in this country - because every woman deserves the right to a safe and dignified birth. It would be great to see our government enforce some of the 748 recommendations that have been made following various inquiries over the past decade. I have to say i’m SO RELIEVED that so many of you care about women, our birth rights, and our babies. Especially at a time when we have people like Steven Bartlett blaming women for a declining population. The time is now. I’ve been reading a brilliant book about tipping points this week and I think we are about to be the ‘push’ that nudges something major over the line. Please join me in that pursuit. This issue can’t keep getting sidelined in favour of other projects. Childbirth is the inception of life. What is more important than that. We need standardised care for all.
