Unpopular opinion… 4pm (or right after school) dinners might be the secret to a calmer evening. Here’s why it works: ✨The kids are hungry!! So instead of feeding them snacks, why not feed them a nutritious meal and if they’re hungry later on (which sometimes isn’t the case) then they can have a snack ✨Homework gets done without the “what’s for dinner?” interruptions ✨Evenings feel slower instead of rushed. The kitchen was cleaned up by 5pm and we have the rest of the evening to hang or go off to extracurriculars (ours start at 6pm) ✨There’s more time for baths, books, and family time. BONUS- I’m not cooking at 6pm when everyone (including me) is overstimulated and hangry Sometimes the reset isn’t a new routine… it’s just a better time slot?! We don’t do this everyday because… life but when we do, the benefits are huge🙏🏼 I also realize this can’t be the case for a lot of families but if it is something you are able to do, give it a try. I swear, it’s a gamechanger! STEAK FAJITA RECIPE: Flank steak or strip loin fast fry steak Preheat oven to 400 Cut up peppers and onions and place on tray Cut up steak and add to tray Season with @sietefoods taco or fajita seasoning (I use to do my own but it tastes much better with this lol) Add olive oil and some lime juice + mix Cook for about 25-30 mins (I mix around half way through) Serve with your favourite wraps and toppings XOXOX Motherhood, easy dinner, mom of 4, easy meals, parenting, relatable

I feed them dinner when they are their hungriest. And luckily for our schedules, it works for our home. No more scrambling for after school snacks… just an early dinner and if anything, a snack later on. Here’s why it’s great: Dinner is already done before activities, homework, baths, and bedtime routines begin. And you have a much more chill evening. A lot of the after school meltdowns are just hunger and exhaustion. Feeding them right away solves half the problem. You’re not trying to cook dinner while everyone is tired, hungry, overstimulated, and asking you for things. If your schedule allows, you must try!!!! It’s been a gamechanger for us. EASY MEAL IDEA: smash burgers 1 pack of 12 mini brioche buns 1 pack of ground beef Sauté onions + garlic + EVOO and add in meat, season While that’s cooking, cut the buns in half and flip the top part onto the pan When finished cooking, add cheese and then your beef Pop into oven on broil for 3 minutes Add your toppings and voila- less than 15 min dinner idea!
