PART 3 Boston on a Budget! 🇭🇹🍴
EDIT: TUESDAY to SATURDAY from 11AM - 3PM, you can build your own bowl and get a lunch plate for $7.99, and it come with a mini can of soda 🍚🥤
@gourmetkreyol serves authentic Haitian food, offering a variety of options. when I say variety, I mean they got vegan and vegetarian options….gluten free options….AND halal option too
they have a simple menu to choose from for the lunch deal, or you can get a bigger plate with some special premium options for $13.99 (a great portion)
here’s what we ordered:
- Halal Stew Chicken + Rice & Beans ($7.99)
- Fried Chicken + Plantains ($7.99)
- Stewed Turkey with Haitian Black Rice and Baked Mac and Cheese ($13.99), again noting that this was basically 2x the size and you can pick from specialty menu items!!
they all come with pikliz which is Haitian pickled veggies. I LOVE bc it was very vinegary and spicy. I needed it with every bite
also it was my first time and the regulars there were so nice and kept hyping up the food, which to me is a beautiful sign that @gourmetkreyol is well loved 🥹

one of my favorite bakeries just a bit outside of Boston!
I’ve shared many times how much I looovvveeee @nouvebakery in Lexington 🥐 every time I’m in the area, I stop by to get AT LEAST a few pastries. I appreciate that they have some staple items and occasionally switch things up according to the season! for fall, they just added an apple turnover and a pistachio pastry (very yum) 🍎💚
the pastries they make are always so beautiful and delicious, but just naming some of my favorites below:
- Matcha Pain Suisse
- Cappuccino Croissant
- Shokupan (Japanese honey toast)
- honestly ANY of the savory options but in particular, obsessed with their Ham & Gruyère Cheese Croissant. they made a Rosemary Ham & Cheese Croissant before and it was amazing I still think about it. and if I ever see the Miso Escargot, I always get it!!
you also can’t go wrong with their classic croissant. so perfectly flakey. definitely a spot that’s worth the troop from Boston! add this spot to your bakery bucket list 🔖

the long awaited second location of @lanner.noodlesbar is opening MONDAY (10/20)!!
and just in time for soup season 🍜 I absolutely love their cozy Cambridge location but equally love their chic and modern location in Seaport
the menu is the same with some extra Seaport only specials like their handcrafted tea blend. my favorite was the Black Sesame Roasted Milk Tea though (are we surprised)
it’s so hard to pick favorites when everything is good but my new found love is their Beef Rib Chili Oil Noodles with wide noodles. you get a giant hearty beef bone and it’s actually incredible. I can’t imagine this dish with a thinner noodle, BUT you are able to customize your noodle dishes with any size noodle you’d like!
of course the Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup is a classic so I’d recommend that if you want a soupy dish. my MUST GETS are the Classic Soup Dumplings (perf parts of meat and fat and soup) and the addicting Crispy Mushroom Bites. I also tried the Plum-Marinated Tomatoes and really like it in between each bites of noodles

we’re back with another Boston on a Budget!! because there are many spots in Boston you can actually eat at without breaking the bank 💸
do NOT sleep on your local Vietnamese businesses! King Do is an OG spot, but recently relocated to an even better location. they do cafeteria-style meals where you can build your own plate, or even order hot dishes that are made-to-order
I often go here to grab their ready-to-go items like their spring rolls, salted egg yolk bao, shrimp dumplings, etc!! there are lots I didn’t even include in the video, but it’s all around the $5-$6 range, or just an extra dollar or two for some bigger items, with some reaching double digits for fuller meals
☕️ their Vietnamese coffee is a fav, soso good and it comes with that extra crunchy ice!! I love adding salted cold foam on it (makes it over $5 but it’s WORTH)
they are open EARLY like 5am early (I have never gone myself but I’ve passed by very early before and can confirm) so if you ever need an early meal to-go or want to stop by if you’re craving Viet food and want to try something new (because they have PLENTY of stuff), visit King Do in Dorchester 🫶🏼

JP is a little out of the way for me (commute wise) but it’s always worth it when I take a step inside their cozy space. I tried their hot Cardamom and Clove Latte last year and was obsessed (cold is delish too), so I knew I’d enjoy their Chinese Five Spice latte this year. perhaps it was also from the kick in their bfast sandwich, but I swear towards the end of my drink, I really tasted the spice 😂 mugs by @mak_ceramics_ <33

word on the street is they use Godiva chocolate and you knowwww that’s the legit stuff 🍫 the base tastes amazing already so making it a lil boozier is really a treat, and I love the thin croissant 🥐
🍵 BONUS I added @phinista.cafe in there because I literally stepped in the snowiest conditions and went ON THE TRAIN for this because I needed my matcha fix and their pandan matcha saved the day. this is at their Cambridge location right by Porter station on the red line!

😩 reporting some important info:
this is news to me but BerryLine now maxes at 4 toppings LOL. super valid of them because they really do fill the toppings to the brim and it takes time doing all of that, so it sort of helps with the line
was very excited to try the Ube Banana, but I still prefer original tart, ALWAYS. I’d say the ube banana is a good mix of both flavors, but I personally prefer those flavors with a creamier and thicker texture

🍕 this was one of my most memorable meals in Vietnam so I’m SO excited for a closer location in New York @pizza4ps.us
yes I willingly went to eat pizza in Vietnam and I have no regrets❣️
may be some of the best pizza I’ve ever had!!
and not only that, but it’s pizza with some Vietnamese twists, like the Bo Kho (Vietnamese beef stew) pizza and renditions of dishes like the crab pasta that literally tastes like Bun Rieu (Vietnamese crab noodle soup)
🪴 their food takes a farm-to-table approach and they even have their own dairy farm in Vietnam. but while their origin resides in Vietnam, there other Asia locations have so many delicious approaches from that country
all of their menus are online so just see for yourself how good it all looks!!
and in case you didn’t know, Pizza 4P’s is a wordplay on Pizza 4 Peace, and the 4P’s stand for Pizza, Passion, Place, and People ☮️
I’m sharing my experience from Vietnam, but from what it looks like on their socials, they’re still committed to the local and sustainable approach even in the states. so expect a whole lotta that and more. and huge congrats on your first U.S. location @pizza4ps 🫶🏼

🤎 Spanish Latte- my overall favorite, classic but they make it taste great

I love a good buffet and Feng Shui in Burlington is worth the troop!! 🥟🍣🦀
weekends only from 11:30AM - 2:30PM, they offer a selection of Chinese food, dim sum, AND sushi. and it’s actually pretty good sushi for AYCE I was shook at the quality!!
it was my second time there and it was even better than when I had it the first time. although they don’t have as many options as your typical Chinese buffet spot, the quality for everything is definitely up there and makes up for it
$27.95 buffet for AYCE sushi, dim sum, and Chinese food? that’s a yes in my book 😭
lines can get long since it’s a small space but the staff there are pretty much ON IT with refilling food. I’m guilty of keeping an eye out for the fresh platter of sushi LOL oopsie
they generally have the same items but from my own personal sources (my boyfriend’s mom :p) they change things up every now and then! so can’t expect every visit to be the same BUT you will be eating good regardless

you have to spend $50+ at @chinagourmet first but that’s easyyyy with the amount of food options that they have
things I ordered:
- Mussels Fried Rice
- Mala Beef
- Mapo Tofu
- Szechuan Eggplant
- Salted Egg Yolk Corn (actually obsessed)
- Mala Crab
- and the $1 Ginger Scallion Lobster duh
I thought I ordered great (and it tasted GREAT) but my friend actually said I should’ve ordered more Fujian food cause that’s what they’re known for!! soooo I am planning a time to come back for sure and try it all 🫡 just to note for your visit

@sandotable.boston is serving craft Japanese sandwiches, where everything is made from scratch. yes, the shokupan milk bread, buns, and toast too 🍞
whenever I see double tamago, I mustttt order it 🥚🍳 great egg salad overall. was hoping for a more brighter yolk, this was more like a tea egg! still yum tho hehe
their twist sandos and hamburg sandos are GINORMOUS. I got the yuzu fish ‘n chips and it has plenty of Japanese tartar sauce and yuzu kosho cabbage salad. panko fried to perfection between the shokupan bun. highlight for sure!
now, I know the prices are quite steep. but I’ll really put into account that everythingggg is made from scratch down to the breads which is huge. and because it’s so big and comes with salad/fries, this is literally an entire meal. you WILL be full. I love the edamame in the salad 🥗
their menu is intriguing enough for me to want to come back. and I WILL be back for their burgers, brown sugar toasts, and desserts
still figuring out what my matcha order will be, we’ll see if I find a fav 🤭

before we get into it, this was GOOD. it was yummy! but nothing evolutionary. they acted fast and are the first Boston bakery to get on the trend which is clearly working because they have been running out fast. props to them on keeping up with the demand and making people’s day

I think this is the swirl of the summer. olive oil is having a moment rn and a pinch of the sea salt goes such a long way, granted I’ve been a huge fan of this combo already. the window itself is convenient for a quick order (and it’s cute obviously) but you can just order inside their store if anything
**the window is only open Thursday-Sundays but you can get their froyo in-stores all week long
if I had to choose a dessert I’d get frequently, it’s def the Greek froyo. 100%. it’s great for a light post-meal treat or even as a midday snack with some fries (like I did 🤭🍟). FROYO>>>>

they’re open from 11AM-11PM, with the goal of staying open later (in the works!)
I’ve had it several times in NYC and it truly is WORTH THE HYPE. the burger is incredible juicy and cheesy and the onions and their sauce does wonders….so simple yet so good. the first bite hits every time
I love when menus are small, so you know they really focus on what they’re selling and it’s exactly this: burgers and fries
the only decision you have to make is whether or not you want a single or double patty, if you want your fries classic or loaded, and whether or not you want any of it spicy. and honestly, MAKE IT SPICY 🌶️
🪴 plus the have impossible burgers so my vegetarian crew can also visit this spot!!
