Pippi in Røros ❄️ Did you know: The winter scenes with Pippi Longstocking were filmed in the same town as “Home for Christmas”. So I found the setting of a funny childhood memory just around the corner: 📍It’s the historic Sleggveien where Pippi sent down the huge snowball to the thieves. Crazy to think the movie was filmed here way back in 1968. It’s not only an iconic filming location, it still gives some idea of the social history of the mining community. During the summer months some of the houses are open to the public. I already followed Pippi‘s trails in summer in Sweden but this place was a missing piece of the jigsaw. #pippilangstrumpf #pippilongstocking #norway

See recipe below👇 The table is set every year in Norway, in the charming Christmas town of Mosjøen in the Helgeland region. The whole community gathers for the coziest breakfast of the season, set along the old wooden street of Sjøgata. The town’s many Christmas elves cook up almost 1,000 kilos of porridge for young and old Christmas guests alike. Recipe 🥣 Santa’s Porridge – the Norwegian way ✨🥣 You’ll need: 200 ml short-grain rice 400 ml water 1 litre milk 1 ts salt Sugar Cinnamon Butter How to make it: 1. Bring the rice and water to a boil. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes, until the rice absorbs most of the water. 2. Add the milk and bring to a boil before lowering the heat. Let the porridge simmer on low heat for an hour or until it's thick and creamy. Stir occasionally so it doesn't burn. 3. Season with a little salt. See recipe below👇 The table is set every year in Norway, in the charming Christmas town of Mosjøen in the Helgeland region.
