One of San Francisco’s best days outdoors just got even better. The new Golden Gate Dozen connects 12 iconic national park sites into one continuous 13-mile route stretching from Crissy Field to Fort Funston. Along the way you’ll pass some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Baker Beach, Lands End, Sutro Baths and Ocean Beach, all linked together by existing trails, sidewalks and park paths. The full route takes around 4.5 to 5 hours to complete on foot, but you can also tackle it in smaller sections or explore it by bike. The California High-Speed Rail Authority’s 2026 Draft Business Plan says construction is moving forward in the Central Valley, where track installation and electrification have begun. The NWSL is taking over the waterfront this week with pop-ups, fan events, and a full barge-mounted pitch leading up to Saturday’s National Women’s Soccer Championship at 5 p.m. Women’s soccer has been exploding worldwide, and the Bay Area is quickly becoming a major sports hub. Between this weekend’s championship, next year’s World Cup, and Super Bowl 60, the region is stepping into a whole new era of sports energy.
