1. Not using your mornings and evenings to build your future

-If you want the freedom to go to your son’s football game on a random Tuesday evening, or allow your wife to stay at home to take care of your kids, you have to start now during the hours of 5am-9am & 5pm-9pm.

2. Not saving your money because you think you’ll “make more later”

-Even small amounts saved today will grow into real freedom and options down the road(down payment, ring, emergency fund). Some of the wealthiest people I know are also some of the most frugal people I know.

3. Not continuing to network once you land a job or internship

-it took me 200 coffee chats before I landed my full time job, and once I got it, I got complacent. Once I started back again I continued to see the benefits even though I wasn’t looking for a job.

4. Not having a mentor

-A mentor is the biggest cheat code you will have because they help you avoid mistakes that most people have to make on their own. Learning from someone else’s experience fast-tracks your growth.

5. Neglecting time with God and your family

-Everyone knows this, but it’s worth reminding yourself why you’re working so hard. Your relationships and values are what make all the effort meaningful.

Worked 10 hours today, got home, and instead of just watching TV or calling it a night, Bella and I spent some time working on our business.

There are plenty of days I’d rather just relax or go work out. And a lot of days I do.

But if you’ve been following me for a while, you know I go absolutely stir crazy unless I’m doing something daily to build the future that I want. Supporting a family is expensive, so why not start working toward it now? Even better, do it with the person you want to build that future with.

Small progress adds up. Follow for more.

Save this & Copy Me - Freshman year I had a 1.7 GPA and had no clue what I wanted to do, now I have my dream job and a clear plan for my life.

This is by far my most requested video, I don’t intend for this to get a lot of views, but I hope it helps a few struggling students that feel like they are too far behind

1. Quantity THEN quality

When you’re just starting out, spread a wide net and meet with anyone willing to chat in the market and industry you want to be in. Once you hit 50–100 coffee chats, start being selective about who you meet, focus on quality over quantity.

2. Stop trying to impress

You’re not meeting people to impress them or get a job. Come from a humble place, genuinely seeking guidance and advice. Anything beyond that is a bonus, I promise it will pay off long term.

3. Do your research

This one’s obvious, but the more you know about the person and their company, the better. Ask tailored questions, not generic ones everyone else asks. (Bonus points if you know mutuals & can talk on that)

4. Follow up, ALWAYS.

People don’t follow up for 1 of 2 reasons: laziness or fear of overstepping. OVERSTEP. I promise you it’s more rude not to follow up, and you will miss out on so many opportunities if you don’t.

5. Turn one chat into the next

End every coffee chat by asking for the next connection. For example: “Now that you know a bit about me and what I want to do, is there anyone you could introduce me to that would be willing to meet with me” This will be the best source of coffee chats that you will have.

This video was brought to you by the last 200 coffee chats I had this past year.
