People get so uncomfortable when mums say this out loud.

This isn’t about keeping score.
It isn’t about dads vs mums.

It’s about acknowledging that motherhood asks so much of women before the baby even arrives.

And I think mums deserve a little more credit for that. 🤍

I’m so lucky it was you, Billie girl 🤍

you made me a mum… but more than that, you made me me
you taught me a love i didn’t even know existed
soft, deep, forever kind of love

my first baby, my little best friend
the one who grew me while i was growing you

if i could choose a thousand times over…
it would always, always be you 🤍

Some days motherhood feels heavier than others.

You think, “I genuinely need a day off.”

But there’s no clocking off. No calling in sick. No handing over your shift.

So… anyway.

You make the lunches. You wipe the tears. You do the washing. You answer “Mum” for the 400th time. You cuddle them, feed them, bath them and get everyone to bed.

Not because you weren’t tired.
Not because today wasn’t hard.

But because you’re Mum. And somehow, even on the days you feel like you’ve got nothing left, you keep going.

For the mum who needs a day off but knows tomorrow she’ll get up and do it all again I see you.

No one knows your motherhood like you do. 🤍

The opinions will always be there.
The comments will always come.

But the people who matter are the little ones who know your hugs, your sacrifices, your sleepless nights, your safe place, your love.

At the end of the day, that’s the only opinion I’m interested in.

To every mum who sometimes questions herself because of what others think… you’re doing better than you give yourself credit for.

it’s not about wanting more…
it’s about missing who they used to be

the tiny versions of them
the ones who needed me for everything

and somehow… you don’t realise it’s the last time
until it already was 🤍

My first baby 🥹 The one who’s been there through every version of me. The one I learnt motherhood with, made all my mistakes with, grew up alongside and somehow figured it all out with. 🤍

She’s watched our little family grow and has walked beside me through every chapter.

There’s just something about your firstborn… they didn’t just make you a mum, they grew up with you while you became one. 😭

Nobody talks enough about this part…
Yes, boys are loud, messy, wild and constantly moving
but they’re also ridiculously affectionate, protective, and somehow still need their mum in the sweetest little ways.

It’s the best kind of chaos. 🥹

Everyone talks about the sleepless newborn nights…
but this stage?

the big emotions
the running everywhere
the “I can do it myself” but can’t 😅

it’s a different kind of exhaustion
but also the sweetest, funniest, most chaotic little phase

Everyone talks about the sleepless nights that come with a newborn.

And don’t get me wrong, they’re hard.

But personally?

Give me the newborn stage over a two-year-old any day. 😮‍💨

Because newborns stay where you put them.

Two-year-olds run.

They climb.

They have opinions about absolutely everything.

They can go from laughing to screaming in seconds and somehow have the energy to do it all day long.

You’re no longer surviving broken sleep…

You’re surviving pure chaos.

And if you’re in the thick of the two-year-old stage right now, just know you’re not alone. 🤍

Signed,
A mum currently being humbled by her two-year-old

Some mums have a village, and that’s a beautiful thing. 🤍

But some of us are the village.

We’re the ones juggling every pickup, every bedtime, every sick day, every meal, every appointment… often without anyone to call for a break.

Some days it’s exhausting. Some days it’s lonely. But every single day, we keep showing up.

If this is your season too, I hope you know you’re not alone. There are so many of us quietly carrying it all, and I see you.

Here’s to the mums doing it without the village, while becoming one for their own little people. 🫶🏼

Where did the first half of the year just go?
To the mums who are “just at home”…

I see you.

The long days
the mental load
the never-ending giving

It’s invisible to most
but it’s everything to them.

And that matters more than anything 🤍 #motherhood

It’s the transition that breaks you not the number.

Everyone thinks adding more kids is what makes it harder. But for me?
It was the shift from one to two that rocked me the most.

With one, you can still tag team. You still have pockets of control. It’s intense… but manageable.

Two is when you’re suddenly outnumbered emotionally.
Two little people needing you at the exact same time.
Two naps. Two schedules. Two completely different personalities.

That’s the stretch.

But once you’re already in that stretch?
Adding more didn’t “break” us again. We’d already built the systems. The patience. The rhythm.

The chaos didn’t multiply the way I thought it would.
The love did. The teamwork did. The connection between siblings did.

It wasn’t the number that changed everything.
It was the transition.

And once we’d crossed that bridge… the rest felt different 🤍

The night you were born, I knew.
Not in a loud, overwhelming way but in a quiet, steady certainty. You were the missing piece to our puzzle. The one that made everything finally click into place.

Four babies. Four different journeys.
Each one filling my arms, stretching my heart, changing me in ways I never knew were possible. And yet… the night I met you, it felt like the final chapter had been written exactly how it was meant to be.

But here’s the part I don’t say out loud very often
even knowing that, I never want to feel done.

Because being done feels like closing a door on the most sacred moments of my life. On the first cries, the tiny fingers wrapping around mine, the way time seems to stand still in those first hours when it’s just you and them.
It feels like saying goodbye to a version of myself I loved deeply the one who meets her baby for the very first time.

My days are full. Loud. Chaotic. Exhausting.
I’m a mum of four touched out, needed constantly, running on coffee and love. But watching this takes me straight back to that night… and suddenly the exhaustion fades, and all I feel is the ache of how much I love being their mum.

Knowing you completed us doesn’t stop me from missing the beginning. Knowing my arms are full doesn’t stop my heart from whispering just one more moment.
And I think so many mums will understand that the strange, beautiful ache of feeling complete, while still not wanting it to ever end.

Time is such a thief.
And if I could pause it, I’d stay right there…
in the night we met 🤍

To the toddler boy mums who are constantly hearing “you’ve got your hands full”… I see you. 🤍 They’re not giving us a hard time, they’re having a hard time being little in a world that expects them to sit still. And one day, we’ll miss every bit of it. 🥹🤍
