back at Kent State awarding the second annual Styled by McKenz Scholarship to an incoming freshman at the School of Fashion — if you know me, you know this milestone is so near and dear to my heart 💛 seven years ago this week I was touring Kent State for the very first time. I had an incredible tour guide who reassured me that my passion project + hobby blog “Styledbymckenz” could thrive and grow if I chose to study Fashion Merchandising here. I had 100 YouTube subscribers and 5,000 Instagram followers. she changed the trajectory of my entire life that day- making Kent my dream school. an admissions essay written about my blog awarded me a huge scholarship to attend and the rest was history. being able to come back and see so many faces I’ve touched with dorm tours, sorority recruitment, and study abroad videos over the years is so special to me and the chance to give back my own scholarship is as full circle as it gets. if you are/were lucky enough to attend Kent you know there is no love quite like this love - my heart could just explode getting to be back in this place I once called home. it was magic then and it’s magic now and I can’t thank @kent.fashionschool enough for giving me the tools to fuel my absolute dream job, day in and day out! swipe for baby styledby with her scholarship $$$ all those years ago ;)
