It doesn’t cost anything extra to book through them, which is the best part. One tip from experience: if you want the bigger package with a full-body MRI and extra tests, book as far in advance as you can. Those slots fill up months ahead. We had such a wonderful experience at @the.kyeol. We wanted a boutique, personalized treatment and that’s exactly what we got. 4 bonus tips (and what camera to bring): 👇🏼 1️⃣ Don’t Obsess Over the “Big 5.” They’re iconic, but safari is so much more. The bush is home to giraffes, hippos, wild dogs, zebras, antelopes, and thousands of other animals. Don’t miss the magic. 2️⃣ Birds will surprise you. You may go for the lions, but leave obsessed with the lilac breasted rollers, southern carmine bee eaters and fish eagles. 3️⃣ Pack light, and skip the hard-shell luggage. Bush planes require soft-sided bags, and most safari camps include complimentary same-day laundry. 4️⃣ Your iphone camera won’t cut it. If you want good photos, you’ll need a professional camera with long lens. The good news is that you can often rent cameras and long lenses from luxury safari lodges or rent them before leaving home. My go-to is a 200-600mm zoom lens. If you’re going on a safari this year, save this post.

pov: you go to the best bar in Tokyo 🍸🔥 Owner-bartender Yuzo Komai moves behind the counter of Centifolia bar like a modern-day samurai, carving ice with a blade into glittering diamonds and setting the bar on fire. Because this bar has gone viral many times, I totally expected a cool show but average cocktails. I was wrong. The cocktails were truly delicious. Komai is an award-winning bartender, including a winner of the Suntory Cocktail Award, one of Japan’s most prestigious cocktail competitions. He’s also won other national and international competitions. Reservations are a must, although they take walk-ins after 1am. We did luck out with a walk-in earlier, but were seated at the tables, and not the counter seats. We eventually were able to move to the bar seats, but I recommend getting a reservation to sit at the bar counter. The best way to get a reservation is to go in person on your first day in Tokyo, and get a reservation for a day or two later. We tried all the other possible ways (tablecheck, DMs, etc) and none worked.
