save yourself a trip to korea and get the viral salt bread in nyc! @justinssaltbread is opening TOMORROW at 10am in east village

I actually liked their salt bread even more than the popular ones I tried in Seoul bc it was served warm and was even more buttery 👀

If you haven’t heard about salt bread, it’s a buttery and fluffy bread with a crisp crunchy exterior! The bread itself has a slight sweetness that’s balanced out by the salt on top. It went super viral in Seoul and I’m so excited that it’s finally in the city!

I fell down a whole Keith Lee Tenderisms rabbit hole last week and I can’t help but think that Keith Lee would approve of this rib 🍖 @seoulbapnyc

Seoul Bap is a woman-owned Korean restaurant started by a native Korean American New Yorker ❤️ they’re known for their signature Korean style bone in short ribs, burrata spicy rice cakes, and they have a large selection of unique cocktails and mocktails. Their hibiscus cocktail is super yummy!!

Galbi Jjim is a slow cooked braised short rib dish that is sweet, savory, and umami, and extremely tender! Now I know the viral Keith Lee review is about a bbq rib, but this might be even more tender and flavorful. Definitely try this dish out! Oh, and they definitely did not cut the rib to make it slide off like that. It’s really just so tender that it came cleanly off and the meat could be pulled apart with just a fork

Freshly made tiramisu on the go! @mammamisuny

If you’re looking for a cozy spot to hang out with friends, definitely check out Mammamisu in the East Village! They make their tiramisu fresh every day and put the toppings on to-order so they’re never soggy. They have a small seating area and also make coffee btw! And top the coffee with tiramisu cream!

Love that Mammamisu takes tiramisu out of sit-down restaurants and into a casual setting to be enjoyed at any time ☕️ & boxed to even enjoy on the go

Strawberry- Strawberry cream, lady fingers, fresh strawberry
Pistachio- Pistachio cream, coffee dipped ladyfingers, pistachio crumble
Lotus Biscoff- Lotus cream, coffee dipped lady fingers, crushed lotus cookies

what foodies want to see under the tree 🌲 @spicymoonnyc

might be my favorite dan dan noodle in the city and it can now be made at home! I picked up a kit at my recent Spicy Moon visit and it’s super easy, versatile, and cutely designed! For anyone who loves dan dan noodles or even just a good Chinese chili oil, definitely check out this kit!

No gatekeeping here, here’s another top dan dan noodle spot! @handynastynyc

Han Dynasty is a sichuanese restaurant that’s been around for over a decade and has always been a solid Dan Dan noodle spot. They serve their dishes family style so order a few things with friends and try them all out!

When Michelin-starred food meets affordability 🌮

Tacombi has brought barbacoa from Michelin-starred Tatemó so you can save the trip to Texas and try their barbacoa here in NYC! Marinated in a complex blend of hoja santa, avocado leaf, chile mulato, chile de árbol, and other herbs and spices, this barbacoa is distinguished by the addition of mushroom powder, which lends a savory umami depth. It’s paired with a spicy habanero salsa tatemada—chiles charred on the griddle and balanced with key lime juice and avocado to soften the heat and add brightness. The final touch is a concentrated beef consomé from the slow-cooked meat itself, delivering intense flavor.

went to @manhattonyc to appreciate the views ✨

I joined a friend to check out a new Japanese-Italian inspired restaurant in Hells Kitchen called Manhatto. They have a clean and beautiful space, with a spotless gigantic window by the bar (hello lighting ☀️) for some great shots 📷

🍜 A5 Wagyu Truffle Shoyu Ramen
🍝 Uni Mentai Pasta
🍞 Honey Toast
🐚 Trio Pearl Crudo

everything I ate in the Toraji omakase course meal at @toraji_nyc

The Toraji omakase course meal won’t show in the regular menu, but you can still order it for $98! The menu contains:
- housemade kimchi
- yukhoe (like tartare)
- wagyu nigiri
- atsugiri tongue
- atsugiri harami (skirt)
- atsugiri fillet
- A5 wagyu sirloin
- cold noodle
- panna cotta
- tea

The whole meal was so good and the space is really cozy. The A5 wagyu is super high quality and tastes just like the ones you would find in Japan (probably because Toraji actually started in Tokyo in 1995!).

Toraji is a Japanese Yakiniku restaurant focusing on premium beef, including Japanese Wagyu, so they keep their seasoning simple to highlight the quality of the cuts. They came all the way to NYC from Tokyo so you know they are authentic!

Determined to try all the matcha lattes in nyc 🍵

Got this one from @aokomatcha and will have to visit when its warmer to check out the matcha ice creams! I overheard someone getting the black sesame ice cream but it was too cold for me to try any ❄️

What other matcha spots should I try?

TIL that @handynastynyc has a LIC location with a rooftop!! To celebrate AAPI heritage, Han Dynasty held their Rooftop Bazaar event with lots of AAPI-owned vendors, fun games, prizes, a panda, and of course, Han Dynasty food! I got the dry pepper chicken and the dan dan noodles, which came with drinks in a cup that blew my mind. I didn’t know how to explain it other than showing it, which you’ll see in the video. You can drink from it and snack from it all while holding the chicken & drink in one hand. 🤯

While this event is over, you can enjoy Han Dynasty’s rooftop all summer long! And they’ll definitely have more fun events coming :)
