I’m learning that becoming a parent slows you down and wakes you up at the same time. That I’m really grateful for everyone’s health, that I get to wake up everyday to mum’s enormous love, and that we get to have you in our lives now. To your first cradle stick. It’ll hold many stories and blessings. Likely broken windows too. Balls are allowed in the house 🤍

Nearly four years ago today, @paulrabil broke the all-time scoring record in professional lacrosse 📈🥇 And tomorrow, he’ll join the Professional Lacrosse Hall of Fame. The @prolacrossehof induction ceremony will take place tomorrow at halftime of the Carolina/California game on ESPN+!

I took a couple acting classes in college that just confirmed I should stick to lacrosse. So when ESPN and Peyton Manning came to me with the opportunity to do both, I had flashbacks to Hopkins theatre. But this ended up being so much fun to shoot. By far and most importantly, I hope we got the stories right. I’m the goofy host who interviews some of the game’s most influential players, revisits the greatest moments in history, and travels to a few of the places lacrosse has taken us. In our season finale we travel to where the game was created, learn the original rules and how to make a traditional wooden stick. They call it the medicine game. The teachings live in the stick and the way we play. I could feel that. It’s about your desire to be great. It’s about your effort, discipline and consistency. Coach @davepietramala demanded we run through the line. And @coachjaydyer always held me accountable. 30 years ago ESPN aired their first college lacrosse game. Those broadcasts inspired me to play harder and dream bigger. Today, we announced a new 5 year media deal, including ESPN’s first equity investment in the PLL, taking us through 2030. We’re planning to work through schedule expansion, improved infrastructure, broadcast innovation, more storytelling, and new player compensation packages. All with the continued focus of building the next top North American professional sports league. When @mikerabil and I wrote our business plan on the back of a napkin, we could only hope that one day we would have the support of a partner like ESPN, with the commitment from players, coaches and fans alike. So here’s to you, to continued growth, hard work, worthwhile partnerships, and the love of the game.

30 years ago ESPN aired their first college lacrosse game. Those broadcasts inspired me to play harder and dream bigger. Today, we announced a new 5 year media deal, including ESPN’s first equity investment in the PLL, taking us through 2030. We’re planning to work through schedule expansion, improved infrastructure, broadcast innovation, more storytelling, and new player compensation packages. All with the continued focus of building the next top North American professional sports league. When @mikerabil and I wrote our business plan on the back of a napkin, we could only hope that one day we would have the support of a partner like ESPN, with the commitment from players, coaches and fans alike. So here’s to you, to continued growth, hard work, worthwhile partnerships, and the love of the game.

Over 14 years we’ve worked with guys from the US and Canada, the Six Nations, England and Australia. Every year we learn more from them. And every year we get to watch them compete in college, pro and international. This post reminds me of the coaches who shaped me. And how it’s now our responsibility to pass it on. Project 9 brings together the best HS players in the world to prepare them for college ball. Reality is when you step on campus your freshman year, it doesn’t just begin. It picks back up exactly where it left off for the team last Spring. Expectations are championships and the clock is ticking. There are 3 classes of players above you who know the playbook and practice schedule. I remember our first fall practice at Hopkins. Literally drill number one, dodge number two. Coach Petro called me out. I had to do a 1v1 against our senior first team All American defender, Tom Garvey. Welcome to the show. Over 14 years we’ve worked with guys from the US and Canada, the Six Nations, England and Australia. Every year we learn more from them.
