I can tell you about all the sprints you’ll lose if you don’t run through the line. How your competition wants it more than you. But running through the line isn’t about the act. It’s about your desire to be great. It’s about your effort, discipline and consistency. Coach @davepietramala demanded we run through the line. And @coachjaydyer always held me accountable. My workout partners @khartzell81 @romardennis and @scottyrodg42 pushed me to a standard that was nothing short of how we finished the drill. The first practices of the year start this week. Project 9 brings together the best HS players in the world to prepare them for college ball. Reality is when you step on campus your freshman year, it doesn’t just begin. It picks back up exactly where it left off for the team last Spring. Expectations are championships and the clock is ticking. There are 3 classes of players above you who know the playbook and practice schedule. I remember our first fall practice at Hopkins. Literally drill number one, dodge number two. Coach Petro called me out. I had to do a 1v1 against our senior first team All American defender, Tom Garvey. Welcome to the show. Over 14 years we’ve worked with guys from the US and Canada, the Six Nations, England and Australia. Every year we learn more from them. And every year we get to watch them compete in college, pro and international. This post reminds me of the coaches who shaped me. And how it’s now our responsibility to pass it on. Hopefully, there’s a video or quote that resonates with you.
