Kinda coach you want to play for😭 Mark Mangino was one of the most unique figures in college football during his run at Kansas. The look, the intensity, the personality — you always knew when Mangino was on the sideline. But behind the unconventional style was a coach who completely changed Kansas football. From 2002–2009, Mangino took the Jayhawks from a program searching for an identity to a 12-1 team in 2007, finishing the season with an Orange Bowl victory. Kansas followed that up with another bowl season in 2008, giving the program a stretch of success it hadn’t seen in decades.

Last night, LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt got a brutal introduction to just how hostile Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford was going to be. With No. 7 LSU trailing No. 8 Ole Miss 24-7 in the third quarter, Leavitt scrambled straight up the middle for 10 yards before multiple Rebels defenders converged on him and literally flipped him upside down, sending him crashing to the turf near the 4-yard line. The atmosphere was already insane because this was Kiffin’s first game back at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium since leaving Ole Miss for LSU after the 2025 season, a departure that had generated plenty of resentment among Rebels fans. Somehow, Leavitt immediately bounced back from the hit and ran for a 4-yard touchdown on the very next play, helping LSU erase what had been a 17-point halftime deficit and eventually tie the game at 24. But Ole Miss ultimately had the last word, winning 32-24 in front of a stadium-record 70,033 fans, with Jaylon Braxton intercepting Leavitt in the end zone on LSU’s final fourth-and-goal attempt. #cfb #college #football #olemiss #lsu
