The wait is almost over. After nearly a decade of delays, L.A.’s one-billion-dollar Lucas Museum of Narrative Art finally has an official opening date: September 22, 2026. Built on 11 acres in Exposition Park, the museum will feature 35 galleries, two state-of-the-art theaters, classrooms, a library, dining, a gift shop, and a massive public park wrapped around a futuristic, Star-Wars-coded building. Inside is a 40,000-work collection spanning everything from Norman Rockwell and Frida Kahlo to comic art icons like Jack Kirby and the first-ever Flash Gordon strip. And yes, the Lucas Archive (props, models, costumes, concept art) will be on display too. This is about to be the new L.A. cultural landmark.
