When I told the girls that Baloo was going to leave us, Ellie asked where he was going. I told her that he was going to heaven and without skipping a beat she replied, “Oh! He’ll get to be with Winnie again! They’ll be so happy to see each other!” We were lucky enough to have 7 years with the goofiest, sweetest, most lovable, and tolerant dog I’ve ever met. He wanted nothing more than carbs and pets. He was a simple guy, held together by bubble gum and paper clips. The heartbreak is immense, but as Ellie so perfectly pointed out, the Winnie-Bubba reunion had to be pure magic. Miss you already Bubbies.

The last couple of days were intense, but by far our most successful Shore Birds event to date! Because of everyone’s efforts and support we were able to achieve our goal of raising over 1 million dollars for The Eagles Autism Foundation. It started with a morning Yoga class Wednesday on the beach with Kylie at Stride, All abilities clinics and moments with kids at Excursion park in the afternoon. And then a Ruckus guest bartending event at The Ocean Drive for an epic no shower happy hour. On Thursday we hosted the 3rd annual Beer Bowl at the Sea Isle Yacht club, where competitors competed in beer drinking games and water activities for a chance to win 50K. As always, Sea Isle City showed up and showed out. Tons of people came and spent their time and money in supporting this mission, and we couldn’t be more grateful to all of you that attended and made these events special! Thank you to the following: Stride Spin and Fitness The Ocean Drive Sea Isle Recreation, Police, and First Responders Sea Isle City Yacht Club Carefree Boat Club Island Water Sports 7Mile Island Piling and Dock All event sponsors/ donors   Eagles Players, Legends, and Special Guests Big Dom Beau Allen Connor Barwin Brandon Graham Cooper DeJean Sydney Brown Thomas Booker Charley Hughlett Ross Tucker Todd Herremans John Kruk Intern Brandon Jets Jake Queen Emma Landon Dickerson Eagles volunteers And the entire Eagles Autism Foundation team including Executive Director, and main person responsible for this shit show taking place Ryan Hammond. #NaptimeCookClub with the best, funniest, most real mom-of-four, and my new bestie @kykelce (host of @nglwithkylie): Steak & Rice Bowls. Today’s meal— that feeds everyone in the family and comes together in less than a nap— is steak, broccoli and rice bowls. Simple and delicious, just what we all need with limited time. Easy Steak Marinade Ingredients: ¼ cup balsamic vinegar ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce ¼ cup soy sauce ¼ cup olive oil 1 Tbsp dijon mustard 1 clove garlic, minced . Directions: 1. Whisk together all ingredients, and reserve ¼ cup for finishing. 2. Add marinade with steak (I used flank steak) to a ziploc bag. The meat can marinate well in advance or in the course of a nap— the longer the more flavorful, but it’s delicious either way. 3. When ready, sear the steak on a grill, a grill pan, in a cast iron. Whatever you fancy. Sear for 4 minutes each side, until the internal temperature is 135-145℉ for a medium finish. 4. Use reserved marinade for a dressing — 🚨 Do not reuse the marinade from the bag! It is not safe! 🚨 5. Yum. Roasted Broccoli 1. Heat your oven to 325℉ on convection. Cut your broccoli florets, and wash and dry very well. The crispy comes if you let it dry for a while after washing. Spoiler: it is still delicious if not! 2. Season with olive oil, salt and pepper. 3. Bake for 20-30 minutes until crispy. 4. YUM 🥦 Sesame Seeds Toast sesame seeds in a DRY skillet for about 4 minutes. You will know they are ready when you smell the nuttiness. Do NOT take your eye off of them, they burn very easily.
