Wandering aimlessly is something that isn’t often done these days. We always have a plan. We’re always going somewhere. We always have something to do. While in Grand Marais, I decided to forget all of that and simply wander. No plan, no destination, no time limit. And boy, was it refreshing. To not have a care in the world about my next plan. Originally built in the 1800’s, this building provided flour to the community of northern Michigan for nearly a century! It then sat vacant for over 30 years before a team came in and saw the potential. It has been painstakingly restored as a fresh gathering spot/coffee shop/restaurant/lounge. Inside you’ll find the incredibly rustic and beautifully restored coffee shop on the main level, a members lounge on the second and third floors, and Supper, which features decadent American cuisine (I cannot recommend eating here enough!!) all sitting right alongside a beautiful babbling brook!
