Gutted doesn’t cover it, but that’s sport. I’m extraordinarily grateful to everyone in my team who worked tirelessly because they believed I could do it, I wish so badly that I could have proven you right 🫶🏽 2025 out 🫡

Being both incredibly proud of the overall year I’ve had and incredibly disappointed with how it ended is a strange combination of feelings to feel. Having big goals and high expectations can be the thing that makes an athlete great, but it can also be the thing that stops you appreciating and enjoying the big moments because to you, they weren’t big enough. Over a week on from competing I’m still trying to feel good about it. Making it to the world championships after an Achilles rupture is a success in itself, but jumping my 2nd worst jump of the year when I got there made me feel I’d disappointed myself so much. I’m very proud that I gave myself the chance, and I’m angry that I didn’t really take it. I’m sure with a few weeks of off season I’ll be able to reflect more on the year, so we’ll talk more about it then, but for now I’m going to switch my brain off from jumping and enjoy being in Japan in a way we weren’t able to after the 2021 Olympics! 📸 @sammellishphoto @britishathletics
