I didn't... When my kids asked about Halloween, we just talked through it together.

I showed them that many witches, spirits, fear, death surrounded the celebration.

Then we looked at what God says about not copying the practices of people who worship in those ways.

I prayed about it and I prayed with them about it.

So they honestly stopped wanting ANYTHING to do with it. They think its gross and dont want anything to do with it.

Here are a few of the scriptures studied... keep in mind, don't just read when scripture read the context and actually study.

Leviticus 18:3 — “You must not do as they do… do not follow their practices.”

Deuteronomy 12:30-31 — “Do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations worship?’ You must not worship the Lord your God in their way.”

Ephesians 5:11 — “Have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness…”

Philippians 4:8 — “Whatever is pure and lovely… think on these things.”

✨️✨️✨️Romans 14:23
“But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.”

For us it’s a conviction issue. Romans 14:23 makes it clear that if the Spirit convicts you and you do it anyway, it becomes sin.

Even if people debate the origins, what Halloween celebrates today is darkness, fear, witchcraft, things Christ would not join in.

I’d just encourage anyone without conviction or kids who WANT to participate...to pray for sanctification and let Scripture shape their view.

We celebrate Biblical holidays in Biblical ways ✝️🥰 sooo thats also what they consider a celebration.

✨️Read the verses in full with your kids and let the Word form their “why.” ❤️🙏🏼✝️

⚠️ Biblical Warnings Now Masked as “Just Be Loving”

1. Sin vs. Tolerance
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” Isaiah 5:20

Today, many say, “Love means accepting everyone as they are.” But the Bible teaches love doesn’t ignore sin, it calls us to repentance and restoration. Real love warns, corrects, and saves us. Jesus loved sinners, and He also never excused their sin.

2. The Narrow Way
“Wide is the road that leads to destruction…" narrow is the way that leads to life.” Matthew 7:13–14

Modern culture says, “All paths lead to God, just be sincere and loving.” But Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Love without truth is sentimentality; truth without love is brutality. Both are extremely needed.

3. Repentance vs. Affirmation
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

Now we hear, “You’re perfect just as you are.”
But Scripture says we’re all in need of change. Repentance isn’t rejection , it’s an act of mercy. God’s love meets us where we are, but it doesn’t leave us there.

4. Holiness vs. Worldliness
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed.” Romans 12:2

Today’s message is, “Blend in. Don’t judge. Just love.” But holiness has always required being set apart. To truly love the world, we must first not look like it.

5. Judgment vs. “Only God Can Judge”
“The spiritual person judges all things.” 1 Corinthians 2:15

People often quote, “Don’t judge,” but Jesus was speaking against hypocritical judgment, not discernment. True love discerns truth from deception, and sometimes, that means speaking hard truths.

Love is the heart of the Gospel, but it’s not blind approval.

Real love confronts what kills the soul and points to what gives life. Jesus never said, “Just be loving.” He said, “If you love me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15

I wasn't called to "help her." I was called to serve her, welcome her in, love her, and treat her the way Jesus loves her.

She was homeless and withdrawn. She didn’t speak much for herself. She used her dog to say what she couldn’t.

“Muffin is thirsty,” and I’d realize she was thirsty. “Muffin needs to go to the bathroom,” meant she did. But the one that broke me was, “Muffin just wants a home.” I knew she was longing for one, too.

God gave me strength every step of the way. I woke up early to make her breakfast, brought her coffee, sat with her in the Word, and did my best to reflect the love of Christ. There were so many hurdles and bumps along the way.

Each of those hurdles gave glory to God as He orchestrated divine interventions.

Honestly, sometimes i questioned what in the world I was doing. I felt like I was neglecting my kids & people around me who needed me, I was spread thin.

I leaned into God more than ever. I prayed nonstop & I asked Him to keep filling me up so I could keep pouring out.

In serving her, I met Jesus in ways I never have before. I craved His presence every moment. I talked to Him and listened more than I ever had. I watched Him move every moment. Every word I spoke, every move I made was from Him.

I saw Misty come to life. She started speaking for herself and began to express her own emotions. She laughed and sang, danced, prayed, and asked questions during Bible study. She even answered an altar call.

Jesus was serious when He said,

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me... Truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me.” Matthew 25:35–40

And when we love like that, we don’t just show Jesus to others... We get to see Him more clearly, too. Which was a blessing I never knew I needed.

I share this not to boast but to boast of Him. I will pray for God to continue to use me as his vessel, and I encourage you brothers and sisters to do the same...

Update: Misty is back and has a job now! Muffin her dog passed away unfortunately. Continue to pray for her!

My 13 year old God fearing son immediately set aside his tithe. It was natural to him. I walked into the room & he was doing what God calls us ALL to do Joyfully!

It was his heart postured to honor Jesus and not for earthly things.
He’s been tithing since he was little, even from birthday money or gifts.

We’ve always taught him that tithing isn’t about keeping the 10% rules. it’s acknowledging who the true Provider is. It’s giving back to the Lord what already belongs to Him!

Leviticus 27:30"A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord it is holy to the Lord.”

That verse defines the tithe and it is the Lord’s. It’s not a donation or a favor because it’s returning what is already His portion.

When my son brings his tithe he also adds in OFFERINGS above the 10%

Deuteronomy 14:22
“Be sure to set aside a 10th of all that your fields produce each year. Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God. so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always.”

That passage shows that the tithe teaches reverence to God. It keeps our heart postur humble and our priorities right God first, always!

Malachi 3:10 is one of the clearest calls concerning the tithe! “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

We’ve taught our son that the tithe is not about EARNING blessings its more showing the heart posture of the one who gives them.

When we tithe, we’re declaring that God’s provision is enough, and that He is faithful to supply every need and we do NEED HIM!

In my sons young heart, he’s already learning what it means to be faithful with little..the same principle Jesus affirmed in Luke 16:10

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much... if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?”

I wish I had more space to write!

Since my mom committed Suicid3 and dad remarried, the holidays no longer feel familiar. I now spend much of Christmas in spaces where Christ is not just misunderstood, but openly rejected.

Where prayer makes my step family angry and His name brings tension. I have been told, stop praying, stop worshiping, & everything else under the sun.

One person has even made it clear they would rather I stay silent… literally "shut up" & "every time you open your mouth you sound more stupid."

I have been verbally attacked by another step sibling...

I still try to respond with kindness & patience. Grace isnt always easy. And I will NEVER claim to be perfect, but with all I have in Jesus I try to just be the light in the dark gatherings.

I want Jesus to be able to find me blameless in front of God. I desire to honor Him and show the love of Jesus even when they treat me poorly.

This season keeps reminding me of the widow who was told to pour oil she didn’t have. But that's what obedience is about, having faith before understanding.

And here’s what I’m learning...When everything else is stripped away, when family is complicated, traditions fall apart, and the world offers anything but truth, Jesus remains.

The gifts don’t matter. The picture-perfect moments don’t matter. Being understood doesn’t even matter.
Only Jesus does!

He is the true gift, the only joy that doesn’t fade.
He is the only one who satisfies when everything else disappoints!

So if Christmas feels heavy for you, if family is broken, faith is attacked, or joy feels distant... remeber Jesus is still enough.

Jesus may have been unwelcome, but it is more clear than ever, He is where true joy is found, the only real gift.

Those without Him, are dark, empty and unsatisfied...nothing we do will please them, until they find their first love. Jesus.

**side note: My father and step mother are believers but they just try to keep her kids happy at all cost. So, inevitably, My sister & I are just supposed to roll with the punches sorta speak. Not make them mad, keep them there so their mom is happy.
